anybody see/remember the chick in 05 who flipped out while getting searched and started punching the security dude and it ended up taking like 4 security guards to get her under controll?
Edit: The annual death rate is about 8.2 persons per 1000 per year so in a town of 100,000, 820 people will normally die in a year. This corresponds to about 9 people every 4 days.
So Bonnaroo averages fewer deaths than a normal US town of its' size. (about 1/9 the normal US death rate but of course Bonnaroovians are , in general, healthier)
Yes, the numbers geek is at it again
I think this is a little misleading. You must account for the average age of death. The Roo's average age would be drastically younger than the towns average age. Rooers tend to be young heatlhy people who are statistically a lot less likely to die. The age skews the data quite a bit.
I do agree that the venue is safe tho.
Do stay hydrated but don't drink just water. Water alone will not replenish your depleting sodium level. Alternate between water and gatorade/acelerade(whatever) to ensure your sodium level doesn't drop and that you replenish your electrolytes.
Did anyone in 06 see the guy dragging around body bags yelling "dead hookers $10"?
Also in 06, there was a guy who wigged out and jumped on top of a passing security golf cart. He jumped on the roof of the cart until it crashed down on the security/staff guy's head and then just bolted.

I used to do sugarcubes, and I would see things that looked like like beams of light, and I would hear sounds that sounded a lot like car horns. I can look at any cars headlights and tell you exactly which way it is going. Mitch Hedburg was great.
You really have to give credit to this site (and I'm sure there are others) This will be my first roo and I feel wayyyyy more prepared / comfortable about going than I did before I started reading things here. Not to mention, all the friends I was trying to convince now see that its not so bad.. if you come prepared.
Karma for Inforoo
helped me a ton last year, I felt prepeared, but there are still things that you will think of for the next year while you are there
As my Inebriated buddy walks out of the Porto, he yells out, "Dude...I love this place...bonnaroo thinks about everything...they even put beer holders next to the toilet!"
Had to break it to him that that was the urnal. Good times good times!
I also witnessed a close call that year. I was waiting in the huge mass of people to get into Centeroo on Friday at noon. There was a guy standing directly in front of me who looked completely dazed. I don't know if if was heat, dehydration, or party favors, but this guy was pale as a sheet. A few second later, this guy just collapses and has a pretty bad looking seizure right in front of me. He began convulsing rigamortis-style and his face went from pale to pea green. I was scared senseless, as I was sure that this poor was going to die right in front of me. When people noticed, pandemonium ensued and just about everyone was calling for medical assistance. I thought there was no way he was going to make it, but after about 20 seconds, the kid just jumps up to his feet and says "I'm fine" like nothing ever happened and just went on his way. Did anyone else witness this?
I was there. Right after that security at the gate started letting people through without a search. It was unbelievably hot and there were a ton of people packed in-asses and elbows.............

I don't plan on dieing at 'roo, so my plan is not to get into anything hardcore during the sunlight hours and saving it for the nighttime... and that includes binge drinking!
