Festi Cabs! Yes - okay - I forgot that I had so many things to add to the taxis. FestiCabs are run by an outside company, essentially a "vendor" at Roo. So what we'd need from AC/Roo is to allow that "vendor" better access to the camps and roads, and also for AC/Roo to either A) provide to FestiCabs or B) require from FestiCabs 2-3 pickup areas close to Centeroo that are properly displayed on the Roo map, and also have the proper signage and are easy to find.
I've used the taxis since they showed up in '08, and when you're camped in BFE, it is a GODSEND. We would walk in to Centeroo for sure, but at the end of the night, you've got a 30 min walk back to camp, and 3 more days to go - those taxi's increase my staying power for the weekend exponentially. THIS year though - it was extremely difficult to find the taxi pick-up points near Centeroo, and no one anywhere who was volunteering or was a Roo employee had any idea about the taxis. I was in Pod 9, and maybe one taxi would come through the pod center every 45 minutes. So when we were running late, and missing a show, and wanted to ride in for speed purposes - forget it. It seemed like 2012, FestiCab was left to their own devices, and they needed more support and structure from the festival organizers.
Bottom line: I think what could make these taxis better for the Roo community, would be if Roo actually took over the Taxi running, and left FestiCab out - OR continue to use FestiCab, but have some say in how they're running and/or give them more access and better support. The taxis are a tremendous help to many people at Roo, and provide the rest and access for many people who would maybe physically not be able to manage a 4 day festival.

Bring back the boards that listed bands playing in each tent.
Open Centeroo earlier in the day on Thursday to reduce that crazy ass long line to get in.
Move the Bud Light stage to prevent sound bleed over the Which Stage.
Set up a massive shade tent with video screens carrying live feeds from other tents and the What/Which Stage & provide a crapload of charging stations that folks could use while chilling out.

The screens at the tents idea. Grade the land around the tent to allow people in the back/outside the tents to see over the crowd. The misting tent to the right of the Which stage saved my ass this year, a larger one/more of them would be killer. More tables around the food vendors( you usually end up sitting on the ground and get a huge side of dirt in your mouth from foot traffic). Make the beer prices a little more reasonable (this will never happen, just a wish). Have trash areas to take trash during the fest. This year( I don't know if it was always like this or it just occurred to me this year ) I asked my local POD where I could take my filled up trash bags that were starting to make the camp smell horrible. I got told I had to hold on to them until I left and to just leave them at camp. Wasn't too thrilled with the idea and with over 6 people sharing our trash can, we ended up with over 5 bags of trash chilling next to my tent for a beautiful morning wake up smell. And finally, one more entrance to Centeroo. I think it would help with the long ass lines that usually contribute to someone missing a set.
I wish that foldable chairs were allowed. Sometimes i bring my Dad and its all he can do to sit in the chair. I could see where the pipes of the chair could be used for many purposes including as a weapon but so could a person's fist. You don't see Roo trying to regulate that so allow foldable chairs, its a 4 day stand all day event.
They regulate chairs because of sight lines not because of the potential of them being used as weapons. That is why they allow the lower folding chairs, but not the full sized ones.
The security people are mostly idiots and they don't know the rules. If they harass you about something you are allowed to have ask to see their shift supervisor. If they harass you about something you technically aren't allowed to have (pro camera, etc.) walk away and go to a different person.
abcd chairs a foot or lower off the ground are definitely allowed. Try again next year and maybe even print out a copy of the rules from the website to show security in the event that they try to give you problems.
Does anyone know what they are called, or have a link to those little chairs that fold up super small into a little sack that could be easily carried by hand or in a back pack?

Oh, and are you talking about the POCKET CHAIR?!?!?! I had one last year and it was a lifesaver! Folds to be .5 inch thick and can fit in a large pocket or bag comfortable. Folds out and is sturdy and holds up to 250 lbs.

Make the Silent Disco bigger, especially if bigger DJ's are going to play there. In general the lines seemed longer than in 2011. But they were especially long around the Mark Foster and Penguin Prison sets.
