Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
As you read these rules, please know this is a 7 player game, not the traditional 11. All of the same rules will apply to this game with the exception of the roles. We have 2 mafia, not 3. We have 4 townies, not 7. The inspector was given 1 mafia name. Any questions, please ask.
Game Play In the small, friendly music community of Bonnaroo, a crafty Mafia have infiltrated the population.
Every day, the population (all live players) gather to discuss whom they think is a member of the Mafia. There is a vote, and the one with the majority is executed. The Townspeople must do this in order to clean Bonnaroo of the Mafia and restore its peaceful vibe.
Every night the Mafiosi decide amongst themselves who to ruthlessly assassinate. At the beginning of each morning, people learn that one of their own has been killed.
Through disrupting the votes and performing their assassinations, the Mafia will try to eliminate Townspeople to the point that they are in the majority and they will rule Bonnaroo forever.
Thus, the Townspeople's great hope is the Inspector. This is a secret figure, known only to him or herself, that has inside information on the identity of the Mafiosi. S/he can covertly use this information to influence the votes towards the Mafiosi. But s/he better watch his/her step, because if the Mafia gets wind it will be lights out.
Good luck.
Rules 1) The Referee randomly chooses from the 11 players three Mafiosi and one Inspector. All the rest are Townspeople. Each player is informed of their role via PM, and are not allowed to share that information with one another except in the official Mafia game thread. The Mafia are informed of one another's identity, and they are allowed to converse among themselves via PM. To put it plainly: a) If you are not a member of the mafia, do not discuss the mafia game outside the mafia thread with any other player or with any non-player who might discuss the game with a player. b) If you are a member of the mafia, you may discuss the game freely among your fellow mafia only. Do not discuss the game outside of this thread with any non-mafia player.
2) The Inspector is informed of his/her part, and also of the identity of one randomly chosen Mafia player. The inspector may at any time reveal their identity to the players within the thread. (see game play warnings above).
3) Each day a vote is held for the player to be eliminated. For online play, deliberation and voting is combined; thus, you can vote and explain yourself in the same post. Every player is free to change their vote at any point up until the last vote is in and the Ref declares that voting is closed. The Referee will then post the final tally, and announce which player is eliminated and how they died. Then will begin the Night portion of the round.
4) During the Night, the Mafia decide on the player they want to eliminate (assassinate), and inform the Referee via PM. Once the Referee receives this info, it is posted here in the thread, the player is eliminated, and the following Day begins.
5) Likewise during the night the Inspector will PM the Referee and guess one player's Mafia status. The Referee will respond with a 'yes' or 'no' answer.
6) Play continues until all the Mafia have been killed (Townspeople win), or the Mafia out number the Townspeople (Mafia win).
7) Player roles will not be revealed until the game has concluded.
8) AKA The Bek Rule: Players who have been eliminated are still welcome to post in this thread, but are asked to not say anything leading to any knowledge, suspicions or opinions you might have. This includes use of the Like/Dislike feature.
9) The ref will do the death stories/videos.
10) AKA The kdogg Rule: There will be no sharing of role PMs inside the thread or outside for the purpose of disclosing your role to another player. This also goes for password sharing. Common sense should be used, no discussion of your roles, except between Mafia, outside the thread - EVER.
11) Voting will be open for 36 hours each round, or until everyone has cast their vote - whichever comes first. Voting will never follow the 36-hour rule on the weekends. The Referee will only ever close voting on a Saturday or Sunday if all players have already cast their vote. If a player has not voted by that time, their vote will not be counted. If a player misses two votes, they are out of the game regardless of how good your reason is. When it is decided that a player is out, they will be killed off during the day alongside whoever would have been killed by vote. a) If the Inspector has not made a guess within 36 hours during a Night round, the Inspector will forfeit that guess. b) If the Mafia have not reported a whack victim within 36 hours during a Night round, the Mafia will forfeit that whack and the Townspeople will receive another round of voting during that Night round to offset the missed whack.
12) The Referee shall neither answer an Inspector's inquiry nor execute a Mafia's chosen victim until after having received both the Inspector's inquiry and the Mafia's chosen victim. If the Inspector is the victim, the Inspector is not owed an answer from the Referee. The Referee shall only accept victim names from living Mafia players.
13) AKA The Bacon Rule: The bigger the whiner, the smaller the wiener.
Players: Viking Kiko JimmyRoo Love Luck Lingweenie Quacker Hakunah Roonectar
Roles have been given . . . let's get this party started!!!
Left to vote: Kiko Love Luck Lingweenie Quacker Hakunah Roonectar
I may extend the 36 hr rule for day one only - due to the time it took to get players together and expecting folks to be more concerned with the election thingy going on around the US, I may give a little bit of a grace period to allow all players to check in.
No stack, he voted for me I voted before kiko what's the problem??
With kiko's inane playing style it was obvious your vote on Jimmyroo would make it 2 votes once kiko followed through. Is that something you didn't notice or something you ignored? Just curious.
Seriously just reciprocating the vote. Blind votes like that are what get townies all messed up. Blatantly stacking on day one would be suicide Even more so before everyone has caste a first vote I'll partner up with hakunah if that'll even it out. I have no more reason to think he is mafia over jimmy. I have used a partner first round pretty much as long as I've been playing. First round is a crap shoot iv said it before I'll say it again.
Thought we had some roo on roo action going on but kiko had to go sh!t in the salad

And as I've always said, someone has to be stacked in rd 1, better it be meaningless than forcing someone to do it and then apply meaning to it. Furthermore, we can pick out people trying to make a mountain out of a mole hill.

And making a mountain out of a molehill makes one:
Really sorry guys, I haven't been around at all, lot of stuff going on, wouldn't have even known if I hadn't accidentally clicked my inforoo bookmark and saw I had a pm. I have to go to work but I promise I will read up and join the game when I get home tonight.
Once again apologize for holding things up, I know this will garner backlash to a certain extent, but I really do have a lot going on, and may not check in as frequently as I normally would(this may be the longest I've gone with out inforoo as a daily thing for me in almost 8 months). Hakuna >> roonecter
Basically reciprocating, I know it's a stack, sure I could vote for Quacker or Viking and leave it up to LLL, but where would that get us.
Day one tally: Roo - 2 Jimmy - 1 LLL - 1 Hakunah - 1 Kiko - 1
Votes: Viking >> LLL Jimmy >> Roo Roo >> Jimmy >> Hakunah Kiko >> Jimmy Quacker >> Roo >> Kiko Hakunah >> Roo
Left to vote: Love Luck Lingweenie
As of now, I am planning on waiting for LLL to chime in before we close round 1. I believe she had a trip planned this weekend, hoping she didn't already leave.
OK, we need a runoff, and I do not want to kill roo straight away. I really would like to here from LLL before the day closes, but for now,
Viking >>> JimmyRoo
Couple thoughts on the format. First, townies, being this silent does not work to our advantage. Look at the game as us starting in Round 3, except we know our inspector is still alive and that we got one mafia already. This gives us a decent edge if we choose to use it. However, if this were an 11 person game, we already have 1 wrong guess, meaning we only get one more.
The mafia are under a lot of pressure to kill the inspector tonight. If they miss, their odds go way way down, since even if the inspector guesses wrong, we would still know 1 mafia, and 2 innocents, meaning that there would be no 3 way standoff in round 5.
So why do the townies need to talk? Well, if I was mafia, I would seriously consider fake inspector very very early in this game. It would draw out the real inspector and get their name out there. You have a 50/50 chance of them having the fake's name, giving you decent odds, especially if there is nothing linking anyone to anyone else in this game. If we are all a lot more active, people have to associate. Mafia will still try and distance, but it becomes much more difficult in these cramped quarters.
The risk to the mafia coming out early is that we would then have both names this round. They may sit back and wait for the inspector to reveal themselves, but either way, we need to be very cautious with any inspector claims. That is why we need people talking.
I am a townie. The other townies really need to start talking, otherwise we are just taking a guess, since we would have nothing to go on. This goes for those who are normally quiet too. (I am looking at you Hakuna and Roonectar) There are no voting patterns, and we are already up against the wall to make a critical guess. This is the great equalizer for the mafia. We cannot afford to make a wrong guess.
I really encourage people to open up, but I have a feeling I am pissing in the wind on this one, based on the amount of activity so far.
I'm open to talking more but I don't really know what to go on. Short game makes each post more critical but this early it's like choosing blades of grass anyway. Everyone is just as guilty/innocent at this point in the game
My vote is subject to change and I will move it to facilitate a runoff that the town finds acceptable. I'm going to wait to hear from LLL before changing anything.
Jimmyroo, I voted for you for a few different reasons, but I will hold off explaining for now. I want to wait until we hear from LLL and see how the runoff shapes up. Townies SHOULD post more, but as the townie post count goes up, so will the mafia count.
I do not think it is picking blades of grass at this point, but more posts would help clarify the picture. We do not have time to give up a round this game guys. Get on it. I voted for Jimmyroo because he has done some things I would think about doing if I was mafia in this game. His reciprocal vote for me, but not earlier this round is also interesting. Either way, he has said a few things that warrant further investigation.

Wait, you voted for me because of my reciprocal vote for you?
That is an incomprehensible explanation. You are saying that you voted for me because I returned my vote for you. But you voted for me BEFORE I voted for you.
And I did make a reciprocal vote earlier this round (with my first vote). For Roonectar.
You seem to be trying to weave some sort of web of lies, Viking. And I've got my eye on you.
Jimmyroo, you chopped my post to fit what you wanted to say. I never said I voted for you because you reciprocated. I said it was interesting and another piece to the puzzle, just like your editting. Here is what I originally posted:

I think we need a runoff, and I think Jimmyroo should be in it. 3 people may be too many at this point, but with no info to go off of, I think it is preferable to a 2 person runoff, as long as we take the time to figure out who is who.
