Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I bought tickets - we are going! Taking the kids to their first fest (they are 7 & 9) and are super excited.
We are going do do family camping and I'm nervous about not camping next to our vehicle. We have so much crisp when we camp and are used to Roo where we have everything we need right there.
For those that have been - how far away are you camped from the car? Like if we need to go back there for something is it realistic to walk? I know they have the shuttles to bring your stuff in but that's probably not realistic to use to go back and forth if you need to.
For example, I'd love to bring all our rain boots but we don't really need those at camp unless it rains. So is it realistic to think to make a run to the truck if we need something. Is it a mile? Less? More? We got the alpha lot pass.

I'm not sure of the exact distance, but from what I remember I doubt you will want to walk it. The fest is essentially on the side of a mountain so the incline in addition to the distance makes for a tough walk.
The shuttles run regularly, though, so as long as its not a peak time for coming and going, you shouldn't have much of an issue.
I finally got an answer from Floydfest regarding my questions and thought I would post back...
"Hey Brandy, No hay problema! You can hop a shuttle for the 10 minute ride back to the parking area at any time throughout the festival, from 9am-2am Thurs-Sat, and 9am-9pm Sunday. And although it may not be what you had in mind when you mentioned 'walking' back, we have created a hiking trail from the festival to the vicinity of the parking area- it's about 3m through the woods."
I mean for the lineup that they have put together and the fact taht it is 2 hrs. from the house this is a no brainer for me. I know quite a few who have been there before and just rave about what a good time they have. Wish I had the $$$ for VIP but maybe next year.

I just sent an email asking if I could do the two day pass for $155 but instead of Saturday and Sunday could it be Friday and Sunday. If so I will do that...if not I will end up buying a single day ticket for Sunday.
I am heading up to my third Floydfest in July. Doing VIP, with the food, beverages(beer!) and on-stage viewing makes this great festival even better. Hope to see some of you fine people in the mountains.
My cousin and I will definitely be there and we will be volunteering as pourers of that lovely liquid called beer, in the Beer Tent by the Main Stage Fri & Sat!
Ok, I'll figure out how to organize something like that, and get it going around the 13th/14th of July.
I'll be volunteering with the festival, as a member of "Green Team 1".
chels0r, to help with the logistics, I will volunteer to host the meet-up at my campsite. I'm doing VIP, but I typically set up camp just outside the VIP camping area where many of the volunteers camp (typically better company anyway!) It's just to the right, of the main stage. I should have an EZ up to protect us from the elements.
Does anyone know the distance from delta lot (remote camping with vehicle) to the grounds? Can you ride a bike from delta to grounds? Can you byob in delta lot.

Hey chuckster. I am not an authority on your questions, this is my first year. But from what I've gathered - delta lot to the stages is a hike. Not sure if 1-2 mi is correct. I've read that there's no Byob in the lots, but they may not check too hard when you arrive. Just be smart about it.
Be smart. Be an adult and you shouldn't have problems, possibly be creative with hiding your beer going in.
I'm from the county Floydfest is held in, I will give a word of advice, the law enforcement in these areas have little else to do this time of the year so do be wary of the local 5-0. Let me know if you have any questions on the area, shopping spots and the such.
... hmm... Since this could be the first inforoo floydaroo (lol) meetup - What's say ye all to a food court roo-er meet up? For meeting, greeting, and getting to know may be a little easier, and definitely not the burden off the bat of trying to meet at a campsite (with this place being a bit scattered in terms of parking, and having to shuttle large amounts of things...
An idea. But, we've got three, and my girl is with me so we'll have four. I know others that are attending that would be interested, and that have aspirations of all Roo-ing themselves.

Wow, sold-out. I will be up there on Sunday. I won't have much free time on my hands since I am driving up that morning and driving back that night (live about 45 minutes away.) If you see a 5'11 white kid with a bonnaroo tee and Bengals hat then that's me! Give me a yell.
If you were buying tickets to the main Beer Garden w/ The Pink Floyd stage, I'm sure you saw me and my cousin, we were selling tickets between 11-7 on Friday/Saturday and made friends with MANY of you!
Well...I don't think we'll be back to this fest. It was our first time and while we had a good time while in there the getting in and getting out was a complete nightmare. They were so disorganized and no one knew anything. I heard from a few volunteers that there was literally no training which explains why every time we tried to get an answer we were told "Sorry, I don't know". It took so long to go through gear check and get the bus that we missed shows we really wanted to see on Thursday.
I really think the problem is this venue is really not conducive to that many people at a festival. There's no easy way in or out and what they did this year just did not cut it. Then when trying to leave they got rid of the gear check so they dropped us and our stuff at the drop off point and then told us we had to carry all our gear down the gravel road to the alpha lot which was then crazy deep mud, up hills and good luck if you were parked far at the top of the lot. What made me angry was that they said they'd provide a service and got rid of it. We were there with 2 kids so we had more gear then the typical person and there was no way we could cart it all from the drop off point to where we were parked. My husband just went to get the truck and bring it up to where we got dropped but I got screamed at over and over by some woman in charge there that we couldn't do that so I asked her then could she provide some help since they backed out on their original plan of gear check and she said no so then I said we weren't moving until my husband drove up there with the truck.
He have a big F150 with 4WD and he had to be pulled out twice by a giant tracker. That's how bad the Alpha lot got.
The rain was definitely crazy and the mud but honestly that wasn't the problem at all. We made it through that fine and our tent and stuff stayed dry. It was that they weren't prepared for any of it and even before it rained their whole system of getting people on site was just a disaster. And obviously training was an issue too. On Thursday when we were taking the school buses to the site our bus driver didn't know where she was going and was following 2 other buses who didn't know where they were going either. They missed the turn off to the festival and we had to drive a bit to get turned around.
That just boggled my mind!?! You hire bus drivers but they don't even know where they are going? It just shows the complete lack of organization.
It's a shame because the music was great, the vendors, the food, everyone was nice. It was just the logistics that ruined it.
I was parked in the delta lot with an RV and we had no problems at all getting to and from the festival grounds. We pulled in on Thursday afternoon and the shuttle line was pretty bad but we just waited and had a few beers and eventually just walked right on. We never waited more than 5 minutes for a shuttle except for Saturday night when we stayed til the end of Xavier Rudd at 330am. We knew we were going to have a problem that night because they said they stopped the shuttles at 2am but even then we waited less than 20 min and a van gave us a ride. It was a great fest and I will absolutely be back.
You were lucky then. Everyone I talked to in the Delta lot had terrible waits those first few days. I just don't understand how a festival that's going to sell 15,000 tickets could be so completely disorganized.
I have been going since FloydFest 5... here is my critique of FloydFest for the survey: Most of the people I began coming with do not go any more. I started coming as a highschooler, and even the dad who brought me and my friend for years will no longer come (neither will his friends). No outside alcohol is ridiculous. Money making pit for you guys, not really there to make a family environment. I would suggest allowing alcohol, having more apparent medical facilities, and not coming off as just a business venture. It's gone down-hill FloydFest. Don't lose me too. Also, I have heard it from people in South Carolina and people at FloydFest - the variety sucked this year. Don't get me wrong, the band quality is high especially for not being a gigantic festival, but where is the variety? 75-85% of the bands sound ridiculously similar (stylistically). Go back to the Tea Leaf Green year and re-create that. Step it up FoydFest, you used to be my favorite.
Not in survey: I was also really upset that the homemade ice cream people were not there. I wish Masterpiece Ice Cream would go under, because when they started with those waffle cones the homemade ice cream (with old <5 hp churn) started to lose business - even though homemade blueberry/peach/chocolate/vanilla ice cream was so delicious. I used to get some every night.
