So can we start a rumour about Gn'R playing Roo ? Shit Axl would show Kanye how to pull a Kanye! We could finally switch the graffitti to FUCK KANYE & AXL for 2014. Interesting get by the way I would love to go chill out in the Gov. ball Greenroom with Axl and Kanye and Kim Kardashian I would so get a group picture and re-open a Myspace account and use it for my profile picture!
1-1-12 Bassnectar NYE SHOW! 1-21-12 G. Love and Special Sauce 3-1-12 Radiohead 3-9-12 Experience Hendrix 5-15-12 Jack White @ The Ryman 6-7-12 Bonnaroo 6-19-12 Roger Waters presents "THE WALL" 7-7-12 Ringo Starr's 72nd Birthday Party Extravaganza at the Ryman
Would love to see GNR even though it's a nostalgia act now.
I think it's awesome! My early drunken years has a soundtrack of 80s hair bands because I was always getting drunk with my sister and her friends and they, obviously, wore bandanas and loved 80s hair bands.
Wow.. Wow.. Wow. I did not see myself being this disappointed in the third headliner. If there is a God, Kanye and GnR will play on the same day and they will sell 1-day passes. If they don't, f*ck whoever created this festival and f*ck them for teasing me with an amazing undercard and then plopping two-thirds of absolute dog sh*t on top of it. Thanks, governors ball. Way to represent NY. You're f*cking worthless.

My mind is blown that out of the three headliners, someone is pissed about Kanye and GNR.
Timb0nic: Loves Kings of Leon, hates Kanye West and Guns N Roses.
I like KoL and Kanye, but GnR is pretty disappointing. I can see how people are excited, but it does nothing for me.
Rarely does a headline booking actually detract from the overall lineup. Somehow, Gov Ball has managed to do this... They would have been better off simply bumping up someone on the lineup, or giving a smaller band a headlining shot.
I really thought Atoms for Peace would be the 3rd. Having said that, my whole crew is now going to look into Roo since they will likely book a good portion of this undercard anyways.
Could tolerate KOL, would dig some Yeezy, and am let down that GNR is even there.
*Plus the XX (or similar artists) doing late night at Roo beats the XX (or similar artists) playing at 6:00 pm.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

First off, I just want to say that I am very excited to be attending this festival and I'm sure its going to be a blast. Out of curiosity, was Guns N Roses the plan all along or did something happen with another artist? Thanks!
Originally, we had been chatting with Atoms For Peace to be a headliner at Gov Ball this year. It appeared that the June time period worked great for their schedule for touring in the States. A few days before we were scheduled to announce the lineup, we were informed that AFP would not be touring America until the Fall. We reached out to handful of acts that piqued our interest. Some had already confirmed their Summer Tour plans, and were thus unavailable for Gov Ball. After we compiled a list of acts that were avail for the festival, we narrowed the list down to iconic acts that weren't 'regulars' on the festival scene, and that many of the fans had never experience in the live setting. GNR's catalog is so deep with hits, and their live show is so strong. Contemporary music festival's like Governors Ball are platforms for fans to see their favorite bands live. But it's also a platform for fans to experience music that they normally wouldn't listen to, or see live. Festivals are also about trying new things. That's part of the beauty of the experience. We're confident they will blow people's minds at Gov Ball
More importantly, day tickets are going on sale Friday. Who here has a 3-day pass or will be picking up day ticket? I'd love to get a Friday or a Sunday...
