I'm really hoping it's Japandroids, not because I especially want to see them, but because it's a fairly straightforward answer to the clue. Maybe they'll actually be solvable this year.
so I am leaning twowrds frank ocean..... but I also was thinking about gorillaz...The rising son of man part gets me but the future is less certain cause they have been on a hiatus...human contact is gone..They play in anime form.. still trying to see if I can find out how the rising son of man is connected

rising son of man the future was less certain human contact is gone
Has anyone guessed Marilyn Manson? The haiku seems to run the theme of Manson's trilogy of Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, and Holywood. Just the first thing that popped into my head when I read it.
The overall arc was about an alien that fell to earth only to rise as a huge rock star. Then after the drugs and partying he was overwhelmed with a disassociation from humanity. After trying to assimilate himself and conform and once again being rejected, He turned to destroying everything and everyone.

wow, that makes a lot of sense. haven't seen manson since '07 but i would be totally down to see him again.

Apocalypse, a Brazillian progressive rock band. Been around a couple of decades and fits Roo's international flavor kick they have been on recently. On second thought, why would they be clue # 1 ? Kinda lame to me. Oh well.

I think you're all crazy.
It's either Mumford & Sons or Kings of Leon
MUMFORD -Rising Son of Man = rising band, Mumford & SONS -Future was uncertain = they took a while to release second album, didn't know whether they were going to be a fad; and/or the song "I Will Wait" -Human contact is gone = "Little LION Man"
KINGS OF LEON -Rising son of man = KINGS of LEON, Leon is the grandfather of the majority of the members -Future was uncertain = the band has been on an indefinite hiatus since the cancellation of their last tour, but they're working on a new album. Human contact is gone = the band has been pretty silent about their future. -BONUS CLUE = the background picture on the clue. Their last album was called "Come Around Sundown"

Not sure if serious.
If serious, yea, WE'RE definitely the crazy ones.
Meh. I was serious on the guesses, not so much on the calling you all crazy part. Although to my credit, I think I made an okay connection without the use of constellations or hyperbolic allusions to the role of technology in society. If I'm Tracy Morgan, you're all Gary Busey.
At the risk of contradicting myself and sounding even crazier, if you don't believe me now, Mumford's latest album is called "Babel." Ever heard the story behind the Tower of Babel? Read through the second paragraph of the Wiki. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tower_of_Babel
If you really want to get specific, you could satisfy all three parts of the clue with Mumford's Babel album title alone
Rising son of man = the collective human race seeking higher ground after the flood, built a tower. Future was uncertain = future of their race in question. Human contact is gone = God spread them across earth and confused their languages.
Btw, if we are crazy.. why do you have multiple guesses?
Because I was joking when I called you all crazy. I thought it was widely accepted that this whole clue scheme is crazy and in some ways makes everyone act crazy with rabid speculation. I should use smileys more often.
With that said, if having multiple ideas isn't consistent with being sane, I'm willing to do away with my KOL guess. I'm sticking by Mumford & Sons, though. I think this is the answer.

Kings of Leon will be in Europe during Bonnaroo.
Major oversight on my part, but all the more reason for me to do away with my KOL guess and stick with Mumford & Sons, who are conveniently free all summer.

No argument Mumfords going to be on the farm this year say about 90% of us agree but you can mold these clues to fit anything if you try.

Right. But I'm not just throwing out the name of an obvious band to be some kind of pseudo-Nostradamus. My point is just that Mumford requires much less "molding" than many other guesses presented. Their most recent album is entitled Babel, and the clues match the key components of the story of the Tower of Babel, and they do so in the correct order.

Still saying we know this to be Frank Ocean or Japandroids. Or maybe could be Trombone Shorty hes a NO native whos played with tons of different talent and is now on a solo venture.

I really wanted to avoid it, but I think I'm ready for people to come up with reasons I'm wrong.
Lets, just for a second, entertain the thought that this is David Bowie. Please keep the dream alive before you guffaw me out of here.
Sure, he's not had new stuff in a decade. Sure, he's not played a show since '06. This morning it was announced he'd have a new album coming out in March.
Also the stanzas line out the plot to Space Oddity.
Or: Ziggy Stardust could be the rising son of man. Future was less certain - will he ever tour again? Human contact is gone - hasn't done so in the better part of a decade.
