The Jesus and Mary Chain If the connections are from a theological perspective,
Rising son of man, (Jesus, though son of God (who is a man i.e. male), rose from the dead
the future was less certain, (Note the past tense "was" when referring to the future. How can the future be the past/or already exist? The future is in the Book of Revelations, which is incredibly obscure--less certain. Also Jesus and Mary Chain can be interpreted as Jesus and Mary offspring, which no one is certain from a historical perspective existed, so the future of the family would be uncertain, and in the past tense)
Human contact is gone (Jesus and Mary are dead, though you can supposedly contact them when you're dead. This also alludes to the "Chain")
I really wanted to avoid it, but I think I'm ready for people to come up with reasons I'm wrong.
Lets, just for a second, entertain the thought that this is David Bowie. Please keep the dream alive before you guffaw me out of here.
Sure, he's not had new stuff in a decade. Sure, he's not played a show since '06. This morning it was announced he'd have a new album coming out in March.
Also the stanzas line out the plot to Space Oddity.
Or: Ziggy Stardust could be the rising son of man. Future was less certain - will he ever tour again? Human contact is gone - hasn't done so in the better part of a decade.
It's a stretch. Tell me why I'm wrong.
I don't want to tell you you're wrong, because I really hope you're right. Especially now that I live in TN now, so it will make this show a lot easier to get to.

I can't say that the people who wrote this clue know anything more about biblical interpretation than you do, but "son of man" is ~generally~ said about Adam, and hasn't ever been said (in the bible, clearly) about Jesus.
(edit: when it's used to refer to someone specific at all. usually it's just a way to refer to mankind itself)
I'll take a stab in the dark...not that I'm a fan, but this is what came to mind... Rising son of man= Adam (lambert) / Adam (young) Future was less certain= American idol... / break from owl city Human contact is gone= Freddie mercury being dead...hasnt Adam been touring with queen lead singing? / owl in owl city Again, just a couple possibilities to add to the endless others

When he sued the record label for the "Damn the Torpedoes" album, no one knew if he would make it out of that and become succesfull again 3. After "DTT", he had "The Las DJ" album talking about about how the people (humans) don't control the radio or music anymore, its the music industry exects and he says, "There goes the last human voice"

This could very easily be Petty, Bowie, or Japandroids.... OR ALL THREE
Definitely Japandroids. There are a couple of quotes on the band's Wiki that hammer home line two referring to them.
"by the fall of 2008, King and Prowse had become convinced that the band was going nowhere, and mutually decided to call it quits at the end of the year."
"Frustrated by label interest only after they had decided to break-up, King and Prowse reluctantly agreed to continue Japandroids temporarily, and began performing live again"
It also seems like the first line of each haiku is directly referring to the band's name, as it was for the Animal Collective and Tame Impala clues.

Rising Son of Man: The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust - the human manifestation of an alien that came to earth from mars to deliver a message of peace, love and hope. This persona also launched bowie's career.
Future was less certain: Diamond Dogs - the product of two distinct ideas: a musical based on a wild future in a post-apocalyptic city, and setting George Orwell's 1984 to music.
Human contact is gone: Major Tom - an fictional astronaut who cuts off contact with Ground Control and slips the bonds of the world to journey beyond the stars.
Urban dictionary rising son & you'll find military poetry & Wu-Tang Clan's name in there.
Future is less certain deals with the large number of members & their solo projects, etc & the chances of them getting back together in the future are slim due to the individual success of all the members.

Don't hold your breath. Like Juggs said, they're trying to get Facebook and Twitter to be more active in this. The days of Inforoo being the only place with consistent clue discussion seem to be over, sadly... I miss Farmhound.
