The question is how much money will you bring and give to the Bonnaroo community? I will be in the $600-800 area this year and will be bring my own food and beer. I will spend most my money on street vendors and maybe a hammock and some art.
let me change that. I spent too much on prep stuff and far less than expected once there.
This year I plan to take less food (just some granola bars, oranges and such) and eat more meals in Centeroo and nearby. The food was far cheaper and there was more variety than expected. One burrito or plate of breakfast goodness could cover for two peeps.
This year, my plan is to buy only what I NEED before Bonnaroo, and that I know can be used in life outside of Roo (like there really is any but you get the idea...) and to maintain that mentality once there.
Really sucks to have a great time and then buyer's remorse when you come home and realize you depleted your account.
we're planning on bringing foods to cook for breakfast, and bringing snacks to carry around with us during the day time....hopefully minimizing those ever tempting trips to the pizza/garlic grilled cheese/whatever other stands. hopefully the only money i'll be spending is on party favors and sarongs.
I try not to spend money on food... but it's really hard. I usually bring a hundred bucks or so for souvenirs and such and a couple hundred for "other" things. Food budget is usually like 25 dollars.

I am bringing money for me and my daughter and buying all of our food and drinks there and will be bringing around $300. That was plenty for us last year (although I am ultra frugal and only bought the cheap food!).

I brought about $200 in cash last year and it definitely wasn't enough. I mean, I survived, but I wish I had brought twice as much. At 'Roo, having to budget the money you brought isn't something you really want to waste energy on, if you can help it.
I probably spent about $100 on supplies... not much at all. We had a lot of camping stuff already (tent, cooler, etc.), we just bought an EZ Up and some food/water. We didn't bring enough food or water and I wish we had pimped out our campsite more.
So yeah, this year, I'm probably going to be in a higher spending bracket, I'm guessing around $600 all together, but I think it will be worth it!
In '02 and '03 I didn't spend a penny except on party favors. I spend a little more each year though. In '04 I tried the $1 garlic grilled cheese(mmmm) and last year I actually spent about $60-$80 on food/drink just to try new stuff.
As you can tell, I try and bring most everything I need. I usually show up with $200-$300 for party favors and maybe $100 for food and misc. I need to buy a souvenir this year. 6 years and I've never even bought a bootleg T-shirt.

aaaah what IS my bonnaroo budget? tough to say. i have to decide if im gonna buy brand new tent, and other various camping accessories or just stick with the tent and shit i already have, which im leaning towards b/c it will be cheaper and then i will have a larger budget when i actually make it to the farm. i just dont know honestly and this has been killing me the past week or so. my plan is to have $300 dollars to spend AT roo, so that doesnt include gas and cost of things ill be bringing with me.

in 06 I brought around $450, I believe in 07 I brought about $400 this year I am planning to bring around $600
I will be bringing a lot of food, beer, water, etc. (which I will purchase at the wal-mart), gas, a bunch of beer + food inside the gates, and of course party favors

If I wasnt going to Finland a month after Bonnaroo, i would be bringing around $600, but my credit cards will be eating away at my soul for a while, so it will probably be around 300-400. $150 - 200 beer and party favors $100 food and $100 merch. I always spend a crapload of money getting my supplies, but I do have most everything I need now other than food.

I work all year for this one week long event and I treat it as if it were my vacation to disney. By that I mean I see it I like it I'll buy it maybe even two and as for adult time I'll be found some where along shakedown street.
I took 80 bucks last year and still had enough left on Monday morning for a hugungous Cracker Barrell breakfast.
I had some things to my advantage though. My friends and I all fed each other, I had a Kamelback and jerky and zero appetite because of the heat and I hate shopping for pretty much anything that I don't need to survive. So, I ate well, partied well and had a great time on about 65 bucks. I'll probably take 100 this year so I can afford extra grits

every year I take $200 and every year I come back with well over $150...I usually only buy one meal a day, if even....and every year I say, "I'm gonnaget one of those neat posters" and every year I say, "damn those posters are really expensive, I'll just get it on the internet later." I'm such a loser, I have yet to do that...This year will be the year I know it lol So if I get to meet you guys at roo make sure to hound me about getting posters
I've never been to a festival before so I don't know firsthand how quickly the money goes. I think I'll bring a little extra just to be safe. Probably around $500.

Obviously depending on my financial situation at the time... but I'm hoping to bring a solid $500 this year and maybe buy something that consumed one way or another...
with all the crap i have to buy (a tent, a shade tent, a cooler, blankets, chairs, sleeping bags, etc etc etc) this trip is going to be outrageously expensive just to get off the ground. i guess all bonnaroo virgins go thru this. there won't be enough left over for vip, which makes me a little bummed.
other than t-shirts and posters what are some other things you can buy there? i remember seeing a picture of a table with tons of glass pieces....odd, but cool.
what is the food situation like? i'm a total foodie, like going to a restaurant is my idea of heaven.
