I'm driving 17 hours there and its not gonna cost nearly close to $1,000 in gas. However, I drive a hybrid and not a mack truck.
i'll be driving a hybrid too. i just got back from a road trip to ny and back to fl, and during the actual road trip i only filled up about 6 times, both there and back.

I'm not sure of my "budget," but I am driving to my first Bonnaroo from Portland, Oregon...warming up for 'Roo by hitting up the Sasquatch! Music Festival www.sasquatchfestival.com at The Gorge in Washington State on the way!
This is going to be one wild summer! One for the record books, I hope!
Now that I think about it, this is going to be costing me a small fortune. Well worth it, I'm sure.

Bonnaroo and Sasquatch! should be almost as exciting and a lot more fun than Baghdad, although the heat in TN is sure to be much worse. ;D
probably a lot less than a good chunk of you since d-r-u-g-s are automatically crossed off my list. But it'll be spent on food and t-shirts/souvenirs definitely. I'd say ideally I'd like to spend 300 dollars down at Bonnaroo.

I'm not sure which is worse, the 130-degree dry desert heat, or the 90-degree humid TN heat! No matter, I'm looking forward to it. It'll definitely be more fun than Baghdad.
I think last year I spent about 17 dollars on food
see - that's what I am talking about - you can do it for basically the cost of tickets and gas to get there if you already have your gear and either bring food or eat cheap int he campgrounds
