they're moving locations this year and one theory I heard was where TomorrowWorld is
There is no way. That place is waaaaay too big. Maybe where counterpoint is makes more sense if they move out of the city.
I also think they would want to keep it close to the city to draw the crowd, this seems like a bunch of people just do this fest to do it. I think camping would really hurt their numbers. Shakey boots is up at the KSU fields and I would assume that is where this would be to save money. If they have stages set up why not just leave it there. Also Centennial would work pretty well.
Since Shaky Knees has been silent recently, can we get some mocks going?
Wilco - My Morning Jacket - Flaming Lips
Neutral Milk Hotel - Bon Iver - Death Cab for Cutie - American Football
Franz Ferdinand - The Kooks - Interpol - The Kills - Metric
The Devil Makes Three - Death from Above 1979 - Kaiser Chiefs- Phil Selway
other headliner ideas- Beck, Strokes, Two Door Cinema Club, Robert Plant & the SSS, Vampire Weekend, The Killers, The Pixies, The Shins, Jack White.
I have no idea who would headline out of those top two rows so that order is just what I think is right, which is probably wrong.
Also, I know a lot of those other headliner ideas aren't likely but I'm just throwing some names out there.
Sorry for the lack of variety in the mock, I don't keep up much with folk.
Think wilco and mmj have to happen with some info we have:
Black Keys or beck? - Wilco - MMJ
As far as FLips, there isn't much psychedelic about this fest. This fest is very very genre specific. Not to hard of Punk/Bluegrass/and forms of lightish rock. Bunch of real "hearty/feelz" music.
Definitely no Black Keys. They're playing arenas now and headlining bigger fests. I like Beck since I heard he was originally booked last year.
I really hope SK isn't at KSU. The venue is the only thing holding this fest back from being great and I think their best option is over where TW is held. I know that's it's too big but there was a post on reddit about them moving to the westside.
I have a very hard time seeing them moving this to a camping fest. Just doesn't go with the vibe of the fest so far...
What do you mean? An indie folk/rock (with a little southern rock) fest seems like the perfect vibe for camping.
Not so much the bands, but I guess the vibe I get from the organizer and his outlook on the city and the crowd they're trying to draw. Like someone mentioned above, I think attendance/demographics might change if it became more of a camping fest. And logistically, shifting to a camping fest seems like it would be a LOT more work and organization (and overhead), I'd imagine.

Well, hopefully that's why they're taking so long to announce the line up!
I definitely read an interview last year where the promoter said he wanted to grow the fest, but keep it inside the perimeter. Going to camping changes everything. I don't know where the best spot is, but I hope they keep it in the city. If 420 makes Centennial work, SK probably can too...especially if they could include the TAB...speaking of, didn't know Decemberists were playing there soon.

The old Music Midtowns used to be at Centennial and they had like 7 stages. No idea how but they did.

? You sure? I don't remember that and I went to most of those.....but, didn't Dave and Mumford draw around 50k down there?
At least we know it's not at Kennesaw. From a reply on the Shaky Knees facebook page ...
This makes me very, very happy. I don't mind camping for Bonnaroo but for the most part being in a city and having all of the amenities that come with that makes this festival much more enjoyable. Now bring on Wilco, MMJ and a repeat performance from Modest Mouse (I know it won't happen but it'd be awesome if it did).
