So normally me and my gf go to hangout everywhere cuz it's so close and have a blast but just not too excited about this years so we decided to go with another fest and are really thinking about Shaky Knees with this awesome lineup. Wut's the feel of this fest and people of have been before think of it? Like we did Music Midtown this pas year loved some of the artist but the fest itself not trying to be negative but didn't really care for so just trying to get some feedback for first time thoughts please and thank you.
It's a city fest...20-30k people in a city of 6million. It won't have the same 'feel' as the hangout or a camping fest.
I've been to Roo 6 times, Music Midtown twice, and Shaky Knees last year. Sure, any city fest will have a different vibe than a camping festival, but I don't think Music Midtown is a fair comparison either. MM draws a very different crowd than SK. The SK crowd is definitely younger and more into the music than a typical MM crowd. MM brings in a lot of older folks that want to see a big name like Foo Fighters, Eminem, or Pearl Jam. The MM lineups are relatively small and don't have a deep undercard. Musically, SK is much closer to Bonnaroo than MM.
I do think the new location will also help SK. I wasn't a fan of the parking lot last year, although the stage setup was sweet. Alternating stages next to each other was a great idea. I hope they keep that concept this year.

Thanks I appreciate it I usually love to see big names but also enjoy a good undercard at but that was the main thing I was wondering was the crowd vibe cuz no offense but the music midtown crowd didn't seem into any music and we both love this lineup a lot just wanted to make sure the crowd was cool and feel was too lol.

The MM crowd was terrible last year, but that was the result of the god awful line up.
Well I actually counted my monies, and I won't be able to budget both this and Bonnaroo.
Though I may still be tempted to do a day pass for this.
Think you still might hit up a Nashville show sometime before Bonnaroo? Some pretty good ones: Panda Bear, Gogol Bordello, Father John Misty. Some others.
I impulsively pulled the trigger on a weekend pass during the presale for $199. A couple of days later the Grateful Dead shows were announced. Although I still want to come to Shaky Knees, it probably will now be via a day pass (I would only have Sat-Sun off anyway), because this Grateful Dead show trumps everything in my book.
It's why I am not coming to Roo this year. I was initially so blown away by Shaky Knees' lineup that I ignored common sense and bit the bait. Now I realize how foolish that was....especially since I have just missed 3 days' work this week due to illness (I get no paid time off. ever, with this job)
I could maybe be talked out of the ticket for face value. Breaks my heart, but by now getting my heart broken and having to cancel plans is a regular thing.
For those that went (or just remember) from last year, two questions. 1) Do they have artist additions (not that they need any)? 2) Around when does the schedule drop?

No artist additions, except a few bands that played late night shows that didn't play the fest.

Last year they added the Replacements but I doubt we'll see anything like that.

The Replacements were added three weeks after the line up drop

I saw last year that tickets for the late shows went on sale on March 7th....so I guess were only a month or so away from the announcements of the late shows?

Didn't care for any of the late shows last year (excluding TPC) but the undercards are so much better this year. Hoping for Neutral Milk Hotel at The Masquerade since it's less than a mile away and NMH doesn't have any dates for a while after so it's not like they need to be on the road straight after their set
After seeing this killer lineup and having a buddy that lives in the ATL area, I couldn't resist getting a ticket!
Being a noob to SK, I had a question though about the shipping. Went onto ticketmaster and saw how they advertised e-tickets, and you had to open a drop down menu and go to the bottom to see standard delivery mail. It's almost like it was hidden. How does the whole ticket exchange for wristband work? If you got an e ticket, would they just give you a code or something? Any feedback on which option you guys did would be very helpful.

You just exchange your ticket for a wristband. Etickets or delivery you're still going to get a paper ticket that needs to be exchanged.

On the first day you attend the festival they scan your ticket at the gate and give you a wristband.
I did e-ticket and it was just as easy as any other concert ticket.

Yep, this. The first day line is pretty long though since everyone is getting wristbands.

Got a hunch they're going to add Sufjan Friday night. OK Productions teased him that Friday night at Cobb then said it was canceled for an overseas festival, but he just announced his tour and the dates are too perfect. pitchfork.com/news/58060-sufjan-stevens-announces-tour/

I sure hope so, because I am going to be sad that i have to miss the nola Saenger show if I'm at this fest.

Oh man, that would be great. Or maybe at least an after-show? That would be even better.

Yeah could also be that. Just makes too much sense that he has to be involved with SK in some way after OK Productions teased him 5/8 and then announced it was canceled.
Oh shit, I'll be kinda surprised (and disappointed) if most of the people I'm with don't cry.
There are so many iconic songs that will be played at this festival it's insane. Idk if I'll cry to Don't Look Back in Anger, Wonderwall, Where is My Mind, In the Aeroplane Over The Sea, Last Nite, Hard to Explain, Obstacle 1, NYC, Jesus Christ, Jesus etc., or Never Meant. Gah damn I'm hyped

Seriously. It's going to feel surreal. If spiritualized plays fucking Ladies + Gentleman, it'll be almost certainly be my favorite festival (performance wise) that I've ever attended. I can not wait for this. I looked at Pixies recent setlists and I started drooling. I WILL be on the rail for it
