The thought hadn't struck me until just now (and then I had an incredible sinking feeling) that they could be playing a lot of newer material but apparently, at least from semi-recent setlists, they know where they stand

Agreed. Although, if it was allowed, I would be put Live at Royal Albert Hall at #2.
The same goes for me. I recently had to choose between buy I g the vinyl for Ladies + Gentleman and the vinyl for Royal Albert Hall because I didn't have the money for both of them. It was torture but I had to get Ladies + Gentleman
I've been put off buying Ladies and Gents on vinyl because I've read it isn't mastered very well. Any truth to this?

I only listened to it a couple times when I first got it because I've been really busy the last couple weeks so it isn't fresh in my memory, but it sounded great to me. I even had a friend that works with Warner's distribution, so he's always really critical of every aspect when have listening parties. And that friend of mine did not have anything bad to say about the mastering when we discussed it after listening to it.
Yeah you named the good tracks. But Killing Lies? 15 Minutes? Vision of Division? Evening Sun? Those songs aren't that good. Which already makes it an inferior album to Is This It and Room on Fire (which have 0 bad songs)
Alright, after this I'm done on this whole debacle. Im out numbered.
I agree, a few bad tracks...but to say Is This It and Room on Fire have 0 bad songs is an exaggeration. When It Started, Alone - Together, The Way It is, and I Can't Win are nothing to ride home about.
Jumping in to say I'm on your side, but Alone Together, The Way It is and I Can't Win are not weak songs.
At this point, I'd say most hardcore Strokes fans would rather hear FIOE and CM songs live.
Oh shittt, yes! So the bet is that Flume and Run the Jewels will play b2b in a LN tent, right?
Yes. I don't remember the terms of the bet to be honest.
I do know it involved us drinking beer one way or another!
Yeah, I think my pay was 2:1 because of how hard it is to predict an act's scheduling, much less two of them together. Doesn't matter, I can't wait for the beers, whether you buy em or I do.
Overall, I'm pleased with this. Really glad Noel Gallagher is playing on Saturday. Surprised Tame Impala is closing the fest, but not upset with it by any stretch.
Friday is still my most packed in day for my taste. Hope TV on the Radio or Kaiser Chiefs does a late show.
The possibility of Spiritualized -> Ride actually is giving me a boner... And then I'll get to walk over to Tame Impala closing out the whole fest, THAT is a great way to finish a fest
other notes: Putting Tame Impala closing on Sunday is kickass decision. I'm gonna have terrible spots for headliners because most of my priority acts will be playing right before them. I'll cry if NMH and Noel Gallagher conflict. I don't even have time to get into the deeper undercard conflicts, I'm gonna have some tough decisions to make throughout the weekend

I thought Friday was my most packed day too until I really looked at Saturday. There are only 7.5 bands I DON'T want to see on Saturday. I'm going to have to make some tough decisions there.
