It was on the Social Distortion website, still is. I could see adding Beck after his tour dates go on sale, or they had him booked and couldn't make it work on Sunday.
"Social Distortion will play the Shaky Knees Music Festival in Atlanta, GA May 8-10. Tickets are on sale January 16 at 10 AM Eastern. For more information and tickets, visit shakykneesfestival.com.
Also appearing at Shaky Knees Music Festival are the Avett Brothers, Wilco, Beck and The Pixies.
The band has additional tour dates planned in the USA and Europe this spring.
"All in all, the creative act is not performed by the artist alone.. the spectator brings the work in contact with the external world by deciphering and interpreting its inner qualifications and thus adds his contribution to the creative act." -- Marcel Duchamp
Are there people aside from @sonofbeek who wouldn't?
In this situation, I would. I mean, I'll have a million chances to see Beck but I don't know when (if ever) I'll get to see the Strokes since they're so on and off
Dave doesn't like the Strokes because I love Julian Casablancas more than I love him
It's a combination of me really wanting to see Beck and me preferring getting punched in the dick over seeing the Strokes mumble sleep their way through another "performance"

I try not to be biased against the under 21 crowd. You two are not helping.

I'm a lot higher on Beck than I am The Strokes, but if I had to choose one to play the fest I would choose The Strokes. Saw Beck at Forecastle last year (awesome set) and he has a show coming up in Charlottesville after Shaky Knees in which I will be going to.
I'm under 21 and I think Beck > Strokes. I like them both and haven't seen either of them, but Beck is the more consistently good act. Plus, Julian + the Voidz was god awful when I saw them and it kind of made me hate him and his "too cool for school" attitude. I hope I was able to restore some of your faith in my age demographic, Dave!!
So is SK really getting WIlco to play an hour set? I feel like they gotta change the layout this year with the new location and amount of bands playing

I'm not under 21, a HUGE Strokes fan and... I would love to see Beck. I would have that same fire for seeing the Strokes if this was 2004. Still really pumped about their set though. Dave Maynar is just a bully.

I am not a bully. They're completely free to have their godawful opinion. If you notice, I only referenced me taking a punch to the dick rather than me dickpunching them for supporting that mess of a band.

Both Beck and The Strokes have been equally elusive to see live in the southeast US. I had been wanting to see Beck for over a decade and he finally played his second show in NOLA ever, just last year. The last time he had played NOLA was in '94 on his biggest tour ever. I think both Beck and The Strokes have played about the same amount of shows in ATL in the past (maybe 8 shows? in 25 years for Beck and 15 years for Strokes). And considering Beck has been around nearly a decade longer, I would come to the conclusion that he hated the fucking south. But I think he had a good time in nola last year and he's just now coming around to us. Oh and most of his music is actually great in comparison to the Strokes and he's way fucking better live.

but that's the past. I'm always really uncertain on if the Strokes will tour again and if they do, when/where. With Beck, I could at least go out of state a bit.

Yeah, I know. Just letting you know that I wouldn't take Beck's current touring schedule for granted. The Strokes do seem like they've run out of gas and could give it up at any minute.
Dave Maynar Please don't tell me you hate the Strokes first two albums and confirm you are a terrible person.
No. The first two albums are great. They're just terrible live.
I've only seen them once (at Roo) and did not think they are as terrible live as everyone makes them out to be. Granted, I was just so happy to hear their earlier material that I kind of overlooked the other songs. But thanks for your clarification. After reading this page, I thought for a minute that your nice guy pose was just a ruse for a Is this It/Room on Fire-hatred cover-up.
Give me Beck over the Strokes mostly any day in a live setting, especially if it entails Beck play multiple songs from Midnite Vultures
But for the purpose of SK 2015, I'm more excited to have the Strokes on the bill than Beck. I've seen Beck live twice and while both shows were killer, seeing the Strokes will be pretty awesome, even if they lackadaisically meander their way through 3/4ths of the set.

The Avett Brothers need to go play in hell, which will clear up more time for WIlco. It's only fair.
