Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Edit: At this point, I'm mostly just fucking around. They're not good live, but they're not even close to the worst act I have ever seen.
They are far from it. If you like the songs then it will be decent. Provided they feel like being on time and actually play the songs. I've seen more than a few shows (by them) that felt like practice sessions for a new album. Fingers crossed for a great set but I'm not holding my breath.
From what I've seen of The Strokes live, they look like they're bored but they sound good. So if you need your bands to act excited about the music they're playing, you'll be disappointed. Also Julian is just strange and so is his stage presence. I imagine that can easily affect someone's opinion of the show.

This is what I was going to say. They seem indifferent to the fact that they're performing music. Any energy or excitement will be derived from how much you happen to enjoy The Strokes.

For what its worth, their Bonnaroo show was a low point out of the five times I've seen them. That whole tour seemed very lethargic and going through the motions. Now that it seem like they're playing because they want to, they're much better live now.

Out of the three times I've seen them that Bonnaroo was easily the worst. They definitely aren't one of the best live bands I've ever seen, but they sure can be better than that show would indicate.

I think I'll be fine with this then but they haven't played Under Cover of Darkness in so long

I'm excited for the announcements of late night shows. Hoping somebody from Friday so I don't get exhausted during the day. Any of: TV on the Radio, Pixies, Kasier Chiefs, Mac Demarco would be great.
Should we start a group thread (a logistics thread) for Shaky Knees since so many of us are going? Like a list of who is going, where they are staying, etc. I'd rather not be the one to do it, but will if people think it's a good idea.

We've kinda already started that here. I can't keep track of two threads so I'd rather keep it here.
I'm going. I'll be staying at the Red Roach Inn with Garageland, Mrs. Garageland & thepeppers.
Friday TV on the Radio The Strokes Kaiser Chiefs The Pixies Mac Demarco
Saturday Noel Gallagher Neutral Milk Hotel The Devil Makes Three ZZ Ward Flogging Molly/The Avett Brothers/Milky Chance
Sunday Tame Impala OCMS Spiritualized Dr. Dog Matthew E White
The Kooks would have went past Mac Demarco for me if they weren't playing Firefly. Since I will prob be attending that fest and the undercard is very light...I will save the set. I don't like The Avett Brothers enough to watch them for an hour & half by myself. Doesn't sound like anybody on here is going, so I will just take everybody's word on it.
I'm making you watch the whole set at Shaky Knees, even if it makes you tardy to late night.
Join me on the rail
I will always have a little vendetta against the Strokes rail. Back in 2011 I saw Levon Helm at OSL and the closing act on the stage was the Strokes. The first 5 rows of people at the show were a bunch of kids in leather who had no fucking clue who Levon Helm was.

That sounds annoying. I hope they were at least respectful

An overall top 10 was painful to make. This feels much better.
Friday The Strokes Pixies Mastodon TV on the Radio James Blake
Saturday Wilco Interpol or Built to Spill FIDLAR Metz Viet Cong
Sunday Tame Impala Ride Spiritualized Panda Bear Matthew E White (He will probably be scheduled early Sunday and I will end up missing it. Diamond Rugs is my next pick)

Damn punk kids and their leather jackets. Get off my lawn!

So we think it is very likely that the Pixies and Mastodon will play at the same time slot? That happened 2/3 nights last year it looks like (2nd and 3rd billing). I almost wish they would bump some higher tier bands to earlier in the day so less of them play against each other. I doubt either will do a late night show either. In general, I don't see myself having too too many conflicts, but this would be a huge thinker for me. I don't especially want to just see half of each band. I guess the stages would be closeish.
