So I'm flying in to Atlanta on the 8th for the Ride show at Terminal West before going to NC to see my mom for mother's day weekend. (awwww, I know) Didn't realize that show is at 11:30 PM. so I figured I'd go to Shaky Knees to kill the day.
My question though, is for you veterans of the festival, how difficult is it going to be to get to Terminal West from the festival? I know it's only 14 minutes away via Google Maps, but trying to get out of Bonnaroo was sometimes a huge pain. I'm guessing I'll need to leave around 10:30, but was hoping to catch The Strokes. Any thoughts or feelings on this?

From what we know, I think the fest is gonna be considerably larger this year than years past AND it's at a new venue/destination. So, the vets may be able to let you know how traffic was in the past, but know that they can't be 100% about anything because quite a bit has changed that would affect your situation. I too, though, am curious around what time Ride will actually start playing once the opener(s) are done and stuff.
Well I'm staying in Atlanta that night at the Ramada, and I've been told it can be pretty dangerous in that area. I can't miss Ride though, flying from friggin kansas to see them. It would be awesome if Deerhunter opened for them, but methinks it'll be Viet Cong since Eagulls are opening for Ride and they are playing Coachella with them.

Don't even attempt to drive yourself. Either take a cab/uber/marta from the fest to the late night shows. If you do that you won't have that much trouble.
So you'd recommend driving to my hotel, then taking a cab to the fest and then to the late show? I can live with that. I only got the rental to drive to Charlotte the next day.

Yea that's the way to go. But just a heads up, public transit isn't really a viable option for getting to Terminal West from Central Park. Cabs should probably be available around the fest but uber or lyft is the way to go for getting home.

I wouldn't be able to contain myself it was Deerhunter.

So what's a person to do if he doesn't have one of those fancy schmancy smartphones (besides get into the 21st century)?

Taxi's or find a place within walking distance from the LN venue to crash

Definitely have a taxi company's number handy before you head into Terminal West. I've gotten taxi stranded in West Midtown before and it's the absolute worst.
If for some reason you can't get a ride by any means just start walking down Marietta toward the CNN Center. It's about a 30 minute walk and isn't too sketchy. You'll either catch a cab on the way or hit the taxi stand at the CNN Center/Omni Hotel.

Seriously. Dream come true show.
I think I'll go with Uber based everyone's recommendation. I take it taxi drivers aren't familiar with Terminal West. Plus Uber seems to have pretty good deals and can quote the travel cost for me, unless you guys have a good taxi service rec?

Uber/Lyft is the way to go. It's way more reliable than ATL taxis. There is usually a line of taxis outside Terminal West after shows but it's easy to miss out on. They don't usually circle back to pick up everyone. And it's not on a main road so you've gotta walk up a big hill to get back in taxi sight line.
Also, anyone who is signing up for Uber or Lyft, ask your friends for a referral code. You'll get free rides and your friend will get some cash once you take your first trip.
If your friends don't have it then ask someone in this thread! Clearly a ton of us use it.

Yep, I'm staying right by Centennial Park so I'm just gonna drunkenly walk home each night. I'm so glad I've lived in ATL before and don't have to worry about getting lost and not knowing what's going on...

Because I don't know Uber's rates, my vote is cab or MARTA

Take Marta north to Civic Center station then walk to the park. It's about a mile from the station but is an easy walk. Are you staying around the park?
Marta is usually always the easiest and by far the easiest way to get to the airport.
Sad sad news. Long story short: After dealing with a family medical emergency all week, we have to bail. If you need tickets to the Spiritualized after, give me a shout. 2 available. Face, obv.

That sucks. I haven't committed to a show Fri night yet. I may get the Ride tickets from you if no one else does.

That's definitely a bummer Hope the medical stuff gets sorted out.
Do we know when the schedule wil be out? I know this has been asked, but looking back it was released Apri 9th in 2013 & April 8th in 2014. It is the 10th, I'm ready for a schedule.
Do they normally do an announcement for the announcement or just drop it?

The 14th seems to be a good bet.
There you go (didn't your professors teach you to cite your sources?)
