On March 31, Surfer Blood frontman John Paul Pitts, 28, was arrested in Lake Worth, Florida for domestic battery, according to an offense report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. Public court documents confirm Pitts pleaded not guilty on May 4, before obtaining a "plea and pass" agreement on July 13. If he complies fully with a program mandated by the court, his guilty plea and charges will be dismissed in April 2013. When contacted by Pitchfork, representatives for Pitts offered no comment. According to the incident report from March, the victim in the case was Pitts' girlfriend of one year. From the report: The victim stated on today's date, Pitts and herself returned from an evening out. An argument pursued because she called a friend, stating she might need a place to stay. Pitts went into the bathroom and stated he was going to harm himself. When she knocked on the door, Pitts came out, they went into the bedroom, and the arguing continued. The victim stated Pitts grabbed her and flipped her over her shoulder, he then pinned her down by climbing on top of her. The defendant then proceeded to shove his fingers inside of her mouth. In return, she attempted to bite him and he pushed his fingers away. He continued to press his weight against her so she bit him on his chest. The victim stated this has occurred before. She told Pitts on numerous occasions she was going to call the police, but he just laughed. Advised she is not trying to ruin his life. Pitts' arresting officer "observed abrasions and bruises on the victim's left and right arm" as well as a bruise above her right eye. "The victim was visibly shaking and crying," according to the report. The report continued: Pitts advised he did not harm his girlfriend. She always threatens to call the police on him. He was present with scratches and bruises to his chest. A bite mark was observed on the middle portion of his chest. According to the report, both Pitts and his girlfriend "stated they did not need medical attention."
FLORIDA.
I can't believe people continue to support this piece of shit and his band. I always a good point to post about this whenever they come to town and facebook is getting ready for the show.
For those that are interested, my buddy is going to the box office tomorrow morning to find out if that tattoo gets you in free for life or just the weekend. I will report back.
I got my wrist band in the mail today and I finished packing/getting stuff together (because I'm starting my trip up ATL tomorrow and staying in Atlanta a couple days)
I CAN'T CONTAIN MY EXCITEMENTTTT!!! NMH tomorrow night and good times with friends at Shaky a Knees all weekend... heaven is just a day away
Hope that's not the set list, that would be a disappointment.
While the setlist isn't great, I guess I could live with it (especially if they play Hey and do a cover of Jesus and Mary Chain) JAMC is one of the main things that saddens me about missing Levitation so it'd be cool if they covered them at Shaky. Anyway, I'll be happy about the show no matter what though because I've wanted to see them for so long, I just hope we get a great setlist. Also, it's worth mentioning that the songs that were on the set list but weren't played would've made it a bit better!

So as it turns out I'm only going to be able to do the Spiritualized LN and Sunday. Sucks that I'm missing Fri. and Sat., but still psyched for this run on Sunday.
Matthew E. White > Steve Gunn > PHJB > Heartless Bastards > Food, Chill, Camp for > Spiritualized > Ryan Adams > Ride > Tame Impala
And I mean 2 Spiritualized shows in the span of about 18 hours… Yeah, I can't really complain.

Also, does anybody know if Matthew E. White is touring with the full on 25~30 piece band with horns, strings, and back-up singers? Or will it just be the 5 piece band?
Either way it should be great, but those big band shows really look like something special from what I've seen of them.

That sucks that you're missing out on Friday and Saturday. At least you're getting the best late night and all of Sunday. Try to track some inforoo people down and say hello.

Will do, honestly it seems like it will be harder to find someone who is not on inforoo at the Terminal West Spiritualized show than someone who is LOL.

In April it was just a 5 piece.
That's what I'm thinking it will be. Seems like the big band is just a special occasion thing. I guess we should just expect the 5 piece so that if it does turn out to be the full on band we'll get pleasantly surprised.
