i admire you guys... my friend who i mentioned just passed away worked bonnaroo every year until she had her daughter, which was last year... but the only thing im volunteering for this year is finding neat little bags of assorted naughties, campin down, and seeing all my friends again... oh yeah, the best lineup ever, btw... just my opinion.

ok so i hear so much about volunteering and i've been on the boards for about a year but am still very much uninformed? as a volunteer you get a free ticket? do you get to choose when you volunteer? how long do you have to volunteer for? any other perks?
there are answers to these questions throughout this thread, and from what i've gathered i'll tell you this much:
you pay a deposit for your ticket, and you get that money back after you fulfill your volunteering assignment. and i think when you work is based on a first come/first serve sort of thing, and you can switch it up with people who are working as well. if you need to know anything else this thread is full of good info.
there ain't no place I'd rather be, Drink all day and rock all night My name is treetop And I'm higher than you'll ever be I'm married to my roots here Still I feel like I am free 6/11/09 -> 6/14/09: Bonnaroo
i volunteered last year, and our campsite was gated off with a staff member checking for our staff bracelets. But, there is nothing stopping volunteers from camping at the tent only, or the regular camping areas.
my ride is going to volunteer can i camp with them
camping isnt going to be your main problem... its going to be getting in....
we had a non volunteer ride with us last year, we had to be there wed by noon ( last email i got said tuesday night by 10 this year ) and he wasnt allowed in untill they let everyone else in, around 730 pm weds. ( he is on the page.. Thursday pics, cheesin with a pic of his bracelet because he was the first non worker in last year) ....Now he waited about 9 hours, which is doable, but waiting a day or two out there?? not fun, not to mention who knows if they would even let you....
im sure you could get dropped off at walmart and find a ride/people to hang out with for a day or two if you had to...
Well I was just approved to volunteer with cleanvibes, I'd already bought my tickets for roo this year. Hopefully I can volunteer with rothbury and make that a cheap trip

I spent so much money last year on studying abroad in N. Ireland and my parents are pissed at me when I suggested the idea of going to Bonnaroo again since I'm now dependent on them.
So my plan to get to Roo this year is to volunteer and do my best to keep it secret from my parents (friend's credit card for the deposit perhaps?) Plus I got to figure out how to schedule Roo around my summer Spanish courses. Ha yeah I'm such a sneaky ass loser

I got my application in my email at 7pm tonight. Signed up for during festival. This year they are asking during festival people to arrive tuesday night, instead of wednesday morning.
How come they e-mailed you an application? Because you've volunteered in the past? When do you think they'll make the applications availabale to everyone?
Neighborhoodcreep, they are asking people who volunteer for during fest to come early because the roads were so full last year.I guess it caused some people to be late. I was pre fest and we were there on Sunday and we had fun that is what we did!Our neighbor had a guitar and people visited and played frisbee.Someone was painting. It was a mini roo.
Instead of dirt and poison, we have rather chosen to fill our hives with honey and wax; thus furnishing mankind with the two noblest of things, which are sweetness and light.
