Is anyone working pre-fest and heading down from The NYC, Long Island, maybe New England area?
I volunteered last year so I got to apply early and got accepted to pre-fest. Only problem is, the only people I know that are going are working during the festival, and/or just have a ticket.
I really want to work pre-fest because I worked during fest last year and ended up missing a good amount of sets.
So I was hoping that maybe some people who are possibly volunteering pre-fest might have a spot open in a car and are heading down from up here. If I can assure a ride, ill send my deposit right away.
I know I have the option of a train or bus, but that'll probably be more expensive then just splitting the gas and wont be as fun.
I'll have my own single tent once I get there, just looking to ride down and meet some cool people, and not be burden.
So if any of you guys are looking to cut down your gas money, I could help you out. My names Jason, this will be my fifth Roo, and I'm hopin I can make it down. If anybody is interested, let me know, or you can email me at Jac1710@yahoo.com. Thanks a lot...
Dude, I seriously can't concentrate on anything but bonnaroo right now. . .It's to the point where I'm poking myself in the eye with foreign objects. . . I think I just need to be sedated until Tuesday. . . . Dystopian Dream
I got approved!!! Pre-fest, baby! I'm on top of this quacking planet, right now. I'll get my deposit sent by the end of the week. Now, I hope the boss man will let me off! *yikes*
for those during fest who were curious. . . I asked the bonnaroo volunteers group on my facebook what time we were expected to report on the Tuesday. They responded, "still working on that but its going to be an all day affair." Hopefully they get an answer soon, I have to make plans on when to leave!

I have a question for anyone who's worked pre-fest. Would it be hard to get back in if you wanted to leave on wednesday night to stock up the cooler? I guess it would take atleast an hour or 2 to go shopping for food.
Work said it's ok. So now the only problem is I need to figure a way to get from the bus station to the farm Sunday morning. I already checked the greyhound site and it looks as though a bus comes in to the Manchester station at 8:30 am.
I have a question about staff camping... how roomy is it? I have a 6 person tent and an EZ up. I'm wondering if I should purchase a smaller tent, but I don't want to spend the money if I don't have to. I'm not dead set on needing to set up the canopy. I figure I'll bring it and play it by ear.
Its pretty much the same as other camping. How many people are gonna be in your tent? It might be obnoxious if your the only one in the tent but you gotta work with what you got I guess.

Also, I have friends that walked to Wal-Mart to restock last year, its only about a mile from the Farm (depending on what part you're in, maybe a bit farther.

Me and my brother both needed to use the same credit card for Paypal deposits, and they wouldn't let us set up two accounts with the same card- so we submitted both payments on my PayPal, and had different message lines(one for his name and the other for me).
Is all doomed? We got a little anxious to get the payment in.
there ain't no place I'd rather be, Drink all day and rock all night My name is treetop And I'm higher than you'll ever be I'm married to my roots here Still I feel like I am free 6/11/09 -> 6/14/09: Bonnaroo

i paid for 2 people out of my paypal account last year as well...
i recommend saving the email they sent confir, ing your deposit.... BOTH of them
i, of course, only got one refund at first, and had to email them to remind them i paid for mine and someone elses, and sent a copy of the confirmation email along....
i did get my money for the 2nd deposit about a week later... so you will get it, but i would be prepared to prove they actually owe it to you... hope that helps
I was wondering about the post deposit email also. all i received was a confirmation email from paypal and one from bonnaroo saying: Thank you for your interest in the Bonnaroo 2009 Volunteer effort! Please be patient and we'll get back to you as soon as possible . If you are looking for the application link here you go:
I though it was a little strange to send me an application link since I was already accepted and paid? How soon did you all get one with a waiver, etc.?
my friend hadn't paid a deposit yet, and had been accepted for prefest, and got an email about an hour ago saying that they are not accepting any more pre-fest deposits.
