Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Wow. Good I got mine in then. And in response to the camping question, I think you need a staff bracelet to camp or even enter volunteer camping. So you'll probably have to move in with your friend. I might move to Tent Only for the fest, as I am pre-fest.
ok so what i do? i got approved for pre-fest and send in my deposit, I'm all good but my boyfriend got the stand-by message. he won't be able to come in with me on sun?
so I am planning on sending in my volunteer application today, but I am having trouble deciding between "POD" and regular festival volunteers.
Also in the volunteer info it says, "festival volunteers will have to check in 6/9 for 3 shifts between 6/10 thru 6/14." and "Pods are volunteers are also required to check in 6/9 and will work 4 shifts between 6/11 and 6/14."
Any idea why the pod volunteering starts a day later than the regular volunteering?
Also, it asks if you want to request a parking pass on the application and that they are very limited. Does every car need a parking pass?
i did pod last year.. you dont start working untill people actually start showing up... i think my first shift was like 2-8 pm on wednesday, so i lucked out and got off right as people were coming in....but basically you sit at a tent and answer questions, and direct people to where they need to go, which is often times the medics right beside you.... it was interesting to say the least...
i really enjoyed the whole pod experience, this year i am going with during fest though, just because i think getting the same scheduled times as my friends should be easier that way...
and there is a chance as a pod volunteer that you will get the 6am-12 pm monday shift.. which was ok, actually ended up being the most memorable part of the whole trip!! check out my myspace videos for a small sampling from the guy who took a book bag full of lucy that someone turned into lost and found!!!
I'm still waiting on that waiver, but I'm beyond excited! My friend just got accepted as a POD volunteer: I'm wondering how the volunteer camping works out, 'cause she (my friend) would like to camp with me since it is her very first Roo, but she's arriving a two days later. Will this force us apart and make me move to where she gets her car situated(...), or is volunteer camping a little more free?
Man, bonnaroo totally messed up my boyfriend's app...but he's getting it worked out. He applied for during fest, and then got an email saying "you've been accepted as a pod volunteer"! He replied saying he didn't do that, that he wanted during fest...and somehow he got switched to prefest! They're working it now, but it's been mega confusing!
Has anyone received the email with the waiver yet? I received a deposit confirmation saying the waiver would follow in a separate email last week but haven't heard anything since (I used my work email and get tons of spam, want to make sure I didn't accidentally delete it)
i looked through this thread, and may have possibly overlooked an answer, so i'll go ahead and ask:
as a pre-fest volunteer, after doing fulfilling my work duties, do I get first pick if I wanted to camp in the non-volunteer area for the festival? My girlfriend and a couple buddies who didn't get their pre-fest deposits in on time are still coming to roo, and I'm just curious if a pre-fest volunteer can claim dibs on a prime camping spot before the rest of the attendees of the fest arrive?
I've gotten my deposit confirmation but no waiver yet! Still waiting!
As for prime camping spots for pre-fest vols, not sure if too many vols left the campground with the free showers to camp in ga. I'm pretty sure you could hike in but might be hard to get your vehicle out of vol area. Good question!
Dude, I seriously can't concentrate on anything but bonnaroo right now. . .It's to the point where I'm poking myself in the eye with foreign objects. . . I think I just need to be sedated until Tuesday. . . . Dystopian Dream
newroovol- I'm new too, got accepted for pre-fest, sent the deposit and all, but I haven't gotten the waiver yet either. I might send them an email to check, because its been more than 5 days I'm sure.
hypnotist- I might be doing that too! I hope my other volunteer friend doesn't though, because I'm not really friends with the kid he's going to move in with. Or maybe moving to Camp Inforoo to try the tent-only thing/ "alone" at roo thing.
Also, for those that are still wondering- the waiver has not been sent yet (at least to some, I guess) because it is being updated to include 2009 language. This comes straight from an email reply from karen@b'roo.com
Hey I just got accepted for during fest volunteering, but it's my first time (both volunteering and attending 'Roo) and I got a question for former volunteers:
Do you absolutely have to stay at the campground? I'll be coming alone and don't have any camping experience, so I'll be like a fish out of water. I was hoping I could just come and go after my shifts were over and I saw the bands I wanted...but i think the volunteer site said volunteers were required to stay on site. Is this absolutely necessary?

I don't think you absolutely have to stay and camp, as long as you fill your volunteering requirements they don't worry about you when your off duty. I think you would be missing out on some of the what makes Bonnaroo so great which is the people and the camping. A lot of the volunteer force is solo so don't be worried about being a fish!

my boyfriend and I were both approved! YAY!!! still have to send in my deposit... i want to wait a little while, but not too long cause i dont want my spot to be taken... i think we still have a little bit of time before that happens but my bf thinks we should do it asap just in case...
also, did someone mention a bonnaroo volunteer facebook group? i think it's somewhere in these 17 pages, but can anyone hook me up with a link? thank you!
im a little scared because im taking a bus by myself because i am too lazy to drive alone and i will have to carry everything i take and i wont be able to lock anything up. i havent had any trouble with my past 2 bonnaroos and people stealing things but it was nice to know that i could lock up my valuables if needed..

I was FREAKING out last year thinking we had to rush to get our deposits in on time...IIRC it didn't fill up until the actual deposit due date. Am I correct on this, 08 vols?

Hey guys, sorry if this has been mentioned already (but I don't think so)... my friend is volunteering at bonnaroo, but my other friend and I have already purchased our tickets. He's doing during-festival volunteering... but he was going to drive down with us. He has to check in a couple days before... is there any way we can drive him down and stay at 'Roo? Or... how would you suggest resolving this? Blllghhh, didn't realize volunteer checkin was so early.

i got an email yesterday with insentives to send your deposit early, so im guessing i still have time.
the earliest they will probably let you in is on wednesday night. During fest volunteers have to be there tues but we still dont know what time. I think the best you could do is get a cheap hotel room tuesday night and possibly wednesday as well if you want somewhere to hang out at during the day.
