also apparently it's the time of year when people try to convince themselves that NYE is in miami this year.
As a New York resident I would happily trade an MSG New Years run for either a) 4 nights at Forest Hills next summer or b) return to Watkins Glenn for a curveball makeup

So, see you at the garden
i got my cancellable hotel booked near MSG today. it's a tough time of year work wise but i'd like to start making it happen more regularly after my april trip was such a success.
definitely am ready for another phish festival though.
Hmmmmmm I think I might try to make the trip for that Ohio show, really been wanting to catch these guys again!!
you totally should. have you been to blossom? i haven't but i hear nothing but good things about that venue. i understand the acoustics are fantastic and the setting is beautiful.

I haven't, but I have heard really great things about the venue too which is one of the other reasons I wanna go! I think I'm gonna go for it Will report back here in August!
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I was there, great show. Certainly not the best Phish show I’ve ever seen, but incredibly fun. Nice set list, loved getting Chalkdust as a set opener. Also, this was only my second Phish show in about a decade, but they’ve played a solo Weekapaug (outside of a Mike’s) at both of them, which I found kinda funny because I don’t think they do it that often.
glad you had a great show. haven't listened yet but i like that they had fun with the setlist. Ghost for a tour opener, solo weekapaug, PYITE encore. and i love Saw It Again popping up in the middle of a set.

hell yeah midweek philly show. other bands could open a show with an acapella cover of Space Oddity but they don't.

PHISH, TUESDAY 07/26/2022 NORTHWELL HEALTH AT JONES BEACH THEATER Wantagh, NY
SET 1: The Curtain > Say It To Me S.A.N.T.O.S. > Stealing Time From the Faulty Plan -> NICU, Roggae, Pebbles and Marbles, Bathtub Gin > Maze, The Squirming Coil
SET 2: I Never Needed You Like This Before > Leaves > Everything's Right -> The Mango Song, Most Events Aren't Planned > Chalk Dust Torture > Julius
ENCORE: Harry Hood
If you had told me before the show that Leaves was going to be the big standout, don’t know what I would’ve thought. Very impressed with their Jones Beach return. Bethel was a lot of fun as well.
Everything since the Mann that I’ve listened to has been great. Seems like summer tour has really found it’s stride and is going well. Excited for tonight.

yeah the usual PT scolds are dumping on Hartford and JB1 because of the song choices, but if they're playing stuff well and having fun with it, I'm less bothered by the setlists. Like, I thought Hartford was great even if they played wayyyyyy too many 3.0 songs for my liking

Agreed. It’s one thing to get mad at Party Time or some other silly 3.0 songs. My mileage certainly may vary on a lot of them. But if they’re going to play new songs like that then there’s nothing to complain about.

right, like i would have loved to get some 1.0 classic instead of Sigma Oasis or whatever, but they played it great and the jams were good and the band was clearly enjoying themselves, so it was all gravy
