Jones Beach sounding great. Love when a show looks kind of mid on paper but in reality its great. it felt like this would be a good summer during the wharf shows, they are having fun and playing well and doing interesting things with setlists.

also of note - i took my 5 year old son to the Hartford show (we only lasted for the first set) and he had an absolute blast
everyone was so nice to him, it was pretty cool. he's been to small festivals and stuff with us but this was his first "real" concert, and people kept asking him for high fives and cheering for him. very fun time.

I haven’t listened yet but I like that set one set list but also that’s probably because I want to see Roggae. From Santos to Bathtub Gin I really like all of those songs. Set two isn’t bad either.
Last night was kinda sleepy but damn tonight they tore shit up
Sneaking Sally 🙏
Now those last two songs of encore rocked. I had listened to sneaking sally omw to work Friday morning so was super excited. when they played it in the encore. Sneaking sally > Wilson was def the highlight last night. They show in Raleigh wasn’t bad bud they just had it tonight.
Tonight I’m still processing. Meat stick and the Lizards were standouts. The Caspian was awesome too. Honestly a whole bunch of highlights from tonight. Can’t wait till tomorrow

so you did walnut creek and both MPPs, or just walnut creek and the first MPP?
MPP night 1 looks better on paper but I haven't listened to either show.

We did both nights of MPP. I just got home I’ll recap in a bit but both nights were incredible. The jams were insane and the crowd was awesome. All 4 of us have been grinning the whole ride home over those last two nights.

Review time. These were my gf and I’s 9,10,11th shows together. After Friday our drive from Raleigh took our 7 hours lol. Which it should have taken 430-5. So we were all a little worn out by the time we got on lawn which was 730 lol but we still were able to find some space center lawn fairly close, which was a blessing. Then they began to blow us away for two days straight.
Saturday started off for me with Set Your Soul Free and that rode all the way through set. Honestly all great jams each song. It was cool to get Shafty and like I said before The Lizards was awesome. Set two started right up where set 1 ended. Set 2 was straight gassssss! Also a sick encore. We get Alumni Blues and Letters Jimmy Page in Charleston 19 but they were 1 min and 30 sec for each so nice to get them jammed out. The Caspian was great too.
Sunday
Was off and on very lite rain and dizzily for the show which kinda added to the fun because you never get soaked. Solid jam with A Wave Of Hope and honestly just kept going. I honestly think my fav jam of the first set was Mull which cracked all of us up cause Mike makes us lol when he does mull, mull, mull it over. Getting a ripping AC/DC bag, which is one of my fav songs, while the rain started coming down was awesome then going into Sparkle as it continued to rain was just a blast. I’m a sucker for Back On The Train as well. Tbh every song had an awesome jam. Set 2 was insane. Probably best Phish set I’ve seen. I’d have to relisten to the Roo sets to confirm. Probably highlight Bird Of A Feather highlight but Joy, Taste, What’s The Use run was insane. Santos closer was lit af. Great encore and a ripping Reprise.
Please listen and lmk what you think of the sets. Our buddy who we go with has seen probably 40 shows and his friend we were with has seen 50 some and they both were blown away. Like flabbergasted. We’ve all been all smiles today even with a 7 and a half hour drive home lol.
Shoot I forgot the most important part lol well not completely but the lights were on fire last night. He was showing out. Like he pulled all the stops out. And I wasn’t on any drugs other than smoking some weed. Dude was having a blast. Sorry for the long posts but dang sick weekend. We are trying to see if we can swing Dicks somehow. Lawddddd they are the best
Last thing , Raleigh show on relisten in the car wasn’t as bad. The sound wasn’t the best there as it was at MPP. Def not close the the MPP shows but still a solid show. The roof at Walnut Creek is lower than MPP so the rigs effects were not as strong as well. Still a great show it was my gf bday show.

i try to remain objective but whenever i'm listening to the solo in The Lizards i have an overwhelming feeling that its the best thing in the history of music.
closing a first set with The Lizards is a bold choice.

bittersweet motel was released 22 years ago this month. shout out to the "is it true you have to be on drugs to listen to phish" guy, who at the time i laughed at, but have since realized i agree with everything he said.

Did Philly N2/ Raleigh/ MPP 1&2. Seriously feeling like that MPP Night 1 was my personal favorite of the 18 I've been to. We were second row pit, right in front of Page. Just non-stop action. I don't really have an effective way to put it in words, the best I can do is that I felt like it got my soul clean. Still have AC Saturday, which will be my wife's first Phish show. I've finally worn her down. I hope Phish helps out by playing the handful of songs she knows.

Same here. First night had me just grinning ear to ear. I’m in such a good mood today at work. Glad you had the same experience !

I almost didn’t make it to Blossom tonight because I was so tired and a lil’ down and I think I broke my toe. But I’m here dancing on the lawn in blue sequins and mermaid pants if anyone else is here!
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.

with dicks coming up i was thinking about the "S" show from 2011. the absolute confidence to one song encore this show with "Sabotage". it's a messy cover in total, but the vocals are actually not terrible and Gordon in particular clearly put some time into practicing the bass line.
i wasn't there, place must have been going bonkers.

PHISH, FRIDAY 08/31/2012 DICK'S Commerce City, CO Soundcheck: Dog Log, Blues Jam, Ginseng Sullivan, Friday
SET 1: First Tube, Uncle Pen, Carini > Kill Devil Falls, You Enjoy Myself[1], Ocelot, Undermind
SET 2: Runaway Jim[2] > Farmhouse > Alaska, Chalk Dust Torture[2] > Emotional Rescue > Fuck Your Face
ENCORE: Grind, Meatstick
[1] "We all love Dick's" vocal jam theme. [2] Unfinished.
The first letters of the songs of this show spelled out "Fuck Your Face" before Fuck Your Face itself was played. Before You Enjoy Myself, Page said "We are so happy to be back in this place, thank you guys so much. We love Dick's, we do." The crowd responded by chanting "We love Dick's." The You Enjoy Myself vocal jam was based around a "We Love Dick's" theme with different band members' names inserted. Ocelot included a Crosseyed and Painless tease. Prior to the second set, Trey wished Matty from the Waterwheel table a happy birthday. Runaway Jim and Chalk Dust were unfinished. Emotional Rescue was played for the first time since September 30, 2000 (236 shows). Fuck Your Face contained an Emotional Rescue quote.

PHISH, THURSDAY 09/01/2022 DICK'S SPORTING GOODS PARK Commerce City, CO
SET 1: Sand > Down with Disease -> Scent of a Mule, Ocelot, Heavy Things, Axilla (Part II) > Back on the Train > Theme From the Bottom > Blaze On
SET 2: Possum > Twist > Ruby Waves > Don't Doubt Me > A Wave of Hope > The Howling > Piper
ENCORE: Harry Hood
----
Disease > Mule transition was great. Love Axila Part II. Theme was surprisingly well played and sung.
Set 2 Ruby Waves through Piper was all heat. Piper in particular was quite visceral. Not going to say machine gun Trey but definitely rock show Trey, big and bright and with multiple peaks.
Great start and better than I thought it would be.
A Wave of Hope is having quite a good summer. Another strong version last night.
I think with songs like A Wave of Hope treys "love and light" period of songwriting is maturing and becoming more confident. He's made a lot of progress since Joy.
