Friday the whole set was fire, but the best segment was tweezer > wtu? > Weekapaug> nmnml > weekapaug > moonage daydream. Moonage was a treat I never thought I'd get that.
Saturday they had a hard time getting going. Decent groove happened for a bit in Free. But 2nd set no quarter > 2001 > melt was all bonkers.

overall it was another fun but musically mid Dicks weekend. still think the friday rain delay long-ass set was the most fun. enjoyed seeing my friends and i think i made a few new ones.
staying downtown and taking the CID shuttle to the shows was great. so nice not having to deal with a rental car and driving, and it was cheaper too. CID know what they are doing and ran the whole thing well.
it was the most nitrous i'd ever seen at a show. seriously every dozen feet or so in the lot there was a tank. not my favorite part of the scene but the dudes selling it weren't shady like the old school nitrous mafia. not fans i don't think just some people making a buck.
always a lovely weekend and i imagine i'll be back next year.
Yeah that ish broke my heart. I’m going try for Nye run too. Logistically it’s rough for us but it’s the best band in the world so I’ll figure it out
how are you approaching the ticket request? 4 day package or individual nights? best available or floor?
floor only is risky as hell but i also don't want to be stuck in the 400s or even worse the upper 200s.
i wish there was a chase bridge only option i love being up there.
Honestly prob try for the 4 day pass. I’ve never done MSG so I’ll have to check into the sections /tiers. I started a new job in July and have only used one day of pto so far. So I’m going to try and do the whole shabang. Do you have any tips? I guess no 400 and upper 200s ?

first, any seat is MSG is better than not being at MSG, to be clear.
i've never personally sat in the upper 200s, but the Chase Bridge overhang can begin anywhere from row 10-16 depending on what section you are in. Most people say it's annoying and the sound is weird, some people say it's fine.
i was in the 400s when I saw Prince and thought it was OK. it helped that Prince was playing a bunch of shows so the 400s weren't full, having space to move around made everything more comfortable. but no way around it the sound isn't going to be great up there.
the Chase Bridge is also super high up, but because of how it hangs over the 200s you are a little closer to the stage than you would think. the best part of the Chase Bridge is there are only two rows plus a barstool row, and the seats are just a little more comfortable then elsewhere, so it's generally a more chill and comfortable experience. less people walking around so easy to get a drink, get to the bathroom, etc. sound is pretty good, not great. it feels luxurious even though it's not technically a luxury seating area. especially if you are front row, you have this huge plexiglass in front of you with a fantastic view of MSG. you can even sit down and still have a great view. the downside is you do feel a bit removed from the show, more like an observer. like when the crowd roars they aren't roaring around you, since it's just you and one other rows of folks. i'm OK with that because i value comfort a bit more than being in the thick of it these days.
100s are all fine no matter where you are. 1 2 and 3 are probably the most ideal section. but in a sold out show the normal seats will feel a bit tight, the last night of the april run i was in 112 behind the stage next to a super nice fella who was a bit on the heavier side, so when we were standing we were kind of right on top of each other. No real room to dance at all.
and behind the stage is a different experience but i love it. you miss the full kuroda experience but having the crowd singing and roaring at you is cool. before the shenanigans began on 4/22 trey turned around and looked at us in the back and snickered. that was a fun moment, i knew some shit was about to go down.
i've heard the madison club seats are the shit, big comfy chairs etc., but we'll never get in there so no use talking about it.
finally the floor is the floor, great sound but it sure looked packed in april. i was on the back of the floor the last night of BD and really enjoyed it, at that show i had a good amount of space. if i scored floors i'd probably keep them just to have that experience again, but i'd be tempted to swap for good front row chase bridge seats.
i think that's it. most people will be super happy with floor, any 100s, any 1, 2, or 3, and any 200s below the 10th row. if you google stuff like "phish msg seating" you'll find endless opinions on the various seating options.

For Rage, @gno and I were in the barstool row in 212. It's a bit further back, but there's more room up there.
I like my personal space, so I'd consider going for those if I came down to MSG again.

i put in for 4 day floors, we'll see what happens. i'm prepared to go, have the hotel and time off booked, but i'm not sure if i'm going to. no matter how you slice it it's an expensive trip, and i've seen plenty of phish this year.
