just snagged a 3 day pit ticket for alpharetta and immediately sold my 3 day lawn. gunna start a mosh during carini.
Gtfo. That’s sick.
been watching prices drop, snagged it for $20 over face all in, pretty good for a 3 day.
however i think the alpharetta pit can kind of suck? overcrowded. it's been a while since i've been in it, at least several years. we'll see how it goes. looking forward to feeling those mike bass bombs.

All pits suck, but I think Alpharetta pit is pretty small.

The closest I’ve been was Sunday Roo 2019. I got almost up to the fence to the pit. I didn’t watch the whole show from there but was nice to get closer than usual. One of these days Im going to get seats and it’ll be awesome

The three central pav sections are good, but 101 and 105 are too hard to the side imo, I'd rather have lawn.
Best seat I ever had at Alpharetta was when we went in the venue as soon as it opened and got front "row" center lawn. Best sightlines in the venue because of the height of the lawn and the sound is perfect.

It was the 2021 Alpharetta run the day it rained before the show (I think Sunday). Due to the rain most people cleared out and we got center maybe 5 people from front of the lawn and it was awesome. That’s our plan for Sunday, get in get a great spot

also, super nice about grabbing your 3 day pit pass! lawn pass wasn't too bad when i looked yesterday. damn Meagan for coming to visit me this weekend

3post1jack1 dangggg how was the show ?! We were at billy last night, Setlist looked great. Roggae is great. Caspian closer set 1 seems real cool, I like that one a lot. Shoot and you got Ruby Waves.

How was Billy?
Yeah you are spot on, Roggae is always a treat, and closing with Caspian was cool. Also that was a super tight jammed out Tube, which always makes me think of Harris Wittells, RIP.
Set 2 was the kind of set I'll take over and over again. Just flew by me, when they went into First Tube I looked at my watch like oh damn set is over. Dark funk Ghost, monster jam out of Ruby Waves (and I fuckin love that song anyways). And Flew Away was cool, I've never even heard that song before. My Friend My Friend was the star of the set, continuation of that dark funk from Ghost had me moving, also was enchanted by Kuroda during mfmf.
Overall the composed sections all seemed really precise, wondering if the IEMs I'm seeing are helping the band. Like Theme was played perfectly, sometimes Trey kind of botches that one.
The pit is great, I have plenty of room Mike Side middle about 20 feet in. People are cool. I did take a brief foray onto the lawn during And Flew Away to check out the lights, sound is AWESOME up there. Some runs its a little too quiet but it was loud and clear last night.
Line to get in was super long but moved quick. Also ran into an old pledge brother of mine so was able to cut in line with him and catch up, that was fun.
Walked back to the hotel after the show, 1.5 miles, little hilly but honestly was a pleasant walk. Nice not dealing with traffic getting in and out.

My buddy was able to snag them. I was never able to successfully complete the purchase. Error after error of "can't process your card right now - sorry!" or "you have already exceeded the ticket limit" when I WASN'T ABLE TO BUY ANY TICKETS!!!

3post1jack1 yeah I was sad to see they played Ruby Waves, I also really love that one. That’s funny our hotel is also 1.5 miles away and we will be walking back Sunday (Alpharetta). Billy was so freaking good. Lindsey and I are just always in constant awe of him, lol she said she could only see Billy again and be happy with life but she’ll be with me on Sunday. Billy covered the Andy Griffith theme song for encore with some weird electric guitar thing idk what the heck it’s called but I’ll send you the vid it was LOLZ
Edit:
Casio DG-20 synth guitar is what billy was playing during Andy Griffith 3000

not sure if anyone wants/needs tickets, but I've got two each for MSG on 8/1 and 8/2 that I can't use now because of work. if you're interested let me know, seats aren't great but whatever.

PHISH, SATURDAY 07/15/2023 AMERIS BANK AMPHITHEATRE Alpharetta, GA
Soundcheck: The Well (played multiple times; this soundcheck may be incomplete)
SET 1: Runaway Jim, Foam, Set Your Soul Free > Fluffhead > Everything's Right > Esther > Golgi Apparatus
SET 2: Rift > Tweezer -> Golden Age > I Always Wanted It This Way > Tweezer > Harry Hood
ENCORE: A Life Beyond The Dream > Tweezer Reprise > Big Black Furry Creature from Mars
Trey teased The Lion Sleeps Tonight in the first Tweezer.
----
the whole tweezer through tweezer bit was great. they really got me in the encore, with A Life Beyond The Dream opening i thought "ok ballad > tweeprise and we are out of here". raged tweeprise, they hit that last note and I turned around to leave the pit, make it to the steps and that riff from BBFCFM starts. dipped right back into the pit, I love that song.

PHISH, SUNDAY 07/16/2023 AMERIS BANK AMPHITHEATRE Alpharetta, GA
Soundcheck: The Well, mercy (this soundcheck is possibly incomplete)
SET 1: Buried Alive > Wilson > NICU, Bathtub Gin, Gumbo, Limb By Limb > The Well, Mountains in the Mist, Halfway to the Moon, Split Open and Melt
SET 2: Mike's Song > Carini > Weekapaug Groove, Sand > Reba, More
ENCORE: The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia > Hold Your Head Up, You Enjoy Myself
This show featured the Phish debuts of The Well and The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia (the latter and HYHU featuring Fish on guitar). You Enjoy Myself was played for a fan who had a shirt stating Phish had not played a YEM in Georgia in 20 years.
----
but Sunday was the show though. SOAM was absolutely gnarly. Entire second set was perfect, none of the jams were mega 30 minute monsters but it's one of my favorite Carini jams i've heard in a while, Sand jam was also sick. Encore was total fun Phish with Trey on drums and Fishman on vocals and lead guitar, his "solos" were hilarious. I'd seen two guys the night before wearing the shirts that said phish hadn't played YEM in Georgia in 20 years, was awesome getting YEM in the encore.
overall super fun run. got to see an old fraternity brother of mine i hadn't seen since college, he kind of dropped off the face of the earth. but he got sober and i saw him poking around the Phellowship facebook group, we connected and it was great seeing him again. we were big acid bois together in college, he was really into Tool and the Golden Girls. was great to see him happy and healthy.
i was staying at the same hotel as the band apparently. never ran into any of them but they lady at the front desk told me they'd rented a block of 61 rooms or something like that, and i saw the tour buses there and people who were definitely crew. maybe it was just the crew and the band was at the Four Seasons or something, but still it was cool.
