First set tonight really worked for me. Second set, not sure how I feel about it. The vibe just felt off. Encore was sick. Excited for Friday, and sorry I’m missing Saturday.

I really liked the whole Carini through Taste bit in the second set last night. Agree that the encore was sick.
I thought the Guyute was awesome in the first set. Meatstick was fun and ridiculous, hadn't really heard of that whole lore before last night. The Japanese lyrics and dance are so silly.
Tuesday's show was also great and I loved the Jerry teases in the first set. Funky Bitch reminded me specifically of That's What Love Will Make You Do from Keane College in the rhythm, and then Trey starts emphasizing "Jerry" on Timber immediately after. We wanted the Jerry teases and they gave us the Jerry teases.
It was also a full moon and the Wolfman's Brother was possibly the best song of the night, and could also be seen as a Jerry tease.
As a side note, my non Phish loving friend didn't make the show but I still went with my other high school friend / Roo buddy and we had a great time. Also saw some of Dizgo's aftershow and think they're a solid band.
I'm not going, but these last two MSG shows are probably going to be excellent. Have fun Friday! Wonder if they have anything crazy planned for Saturday

SETLIST: PHISH, FRIDAY 08/04/2023 MSG New York, NY
SET 1: Buried Alive, The Moma Dance, 46 Days > Back in the Bubble[1], Bouncing Around the Room, Birds of a Feather, Halley's Comet[2] -> Roggae, Run Like an Antelope
SET 2: Mike's Song > Sand -> Crosseyed and Painless > A Life Beyond The Dream, The Lizards, While My Guitar Gently Weeps
ENCORE: Weekapaug Groove > Fluffhead
[1] Phish debut. [2] Lyrics changed to "central part of New York City."
This show featured the Phish debut of Back in the Bubble. Halley's Comet's lyrics were changed to "central part of New York City." Trey teased We're Off to See the Wizard in Roggae.
This second set fucks. Fish was going into Weekapaug after C&P and the place definitely would’ve exploded had trey followed.
Behind the stage at MSG is great. Sound is good and you are so close to the stage you can watch what the band is doing. Especially Fishman, he is great to watch from that angle.
You don't get the full lights experience but you get a unique perspective on the lights, seeing it like the band does. And seeing the faces in the crowd and hearing them cheer at you is really cool.
Have a great show! Report back and let us know how it was.
I wouldn't want to be there every night, but had a great experience behind the stage. Watching the lights hit the crowd, and seemingly linger on people dancing their brains out, was a lot of fun. And it was the best view I've ever had of the master's hands hitting the keys.

Im in for all 3 nights of Chicago…little sister lives in the west loop so free place to crash, just booked round trip flights for $120 total. Now all that’s needed is to secure tickets…things are aligning

Hell yeah sounds awesome! Gotta think tickets for these shows won't be that tough.

My plan is week/day of for tickets…it’s insane that these are “sold out” on Ticketmaster…can’t wait, planning on some great dinners with my sister before the shows and she even said she’d be down to go to her first show one of the nights (which is a big win)
Have you heard anything about winter tour or Hampton dates ? My buddy heard maybe Hamptons early December ?
Also today saw somebody talking about Vegas over 4/20 next year. That’d be a cool reason to go to Vegas for the first time.
yeah the rumor is hampton early december, msg nye, vegas sphere 4/20 run. but it's all just talk i don't have any confidence in any of it besides msg nye.

LFG. Obvy it’s a rumor but Hampton is a little under 5 hours from us and would be awesome.
The Trucks sit in fucks hard. Starts at Golden Age till the end of the show. Listened yesterday driving home from PL and it ripped
such a massive sit in. any sit in with 3.0+ phish is surprising since they are so rare, and the length of it makes it especially surprising. i haven't listened yet i've only heard great things.
i like to think i'm "post-fomo" with phish, at least thats what i tell myself, but i got a little bummed on the way to work today thinking about missing dicks. usually the ones i miss turn into all-time runs, so for anyone going who gets Harpua you are welcome.
3post1jack1 I can’t stop singing Everythings Right since listening yesterday. Sad to hear no dicks this year, any fall tour planned for you? As a newbie Phish fan I think all shows are awesome but I try not to fomo too much unless the show was close enough for me to go or I’d be sad a lot lol.

i have a hotel booked for NYE and am monitoring flight prices (assuming it's MSG). i'd love to do Nashville but not sure if i can pull it off.

Dayton and Nashville are about equal distance from my place so going to try and get one of those shows but we shall see. PL got to my wallet lol

heard something about a northeast mini-tour around thanksgiving/first week of December with some "classic" venues (some mix of Worcester, Providence, Nassau, Albany, etc.), followed by a 2 or 3 date Hamptons run.
I always wake up and check the damage and damnnnnnnnnnnn. Haven’t been able to listen to anything yet but dang last night looked incredible. I love the Sci-Fi Solider stuff. Don’t Doubt Me and The Howling are just super fun songs imo. Never a bad show with Wave of Hope and AC/DC Bag either.
Hope if anyone made it to Dicks is having a blast.
Sorry 3post1jack1 hopefully not too much fomo for you. No Harpua yet at least lol

like i'd always love to be at a phish show, but overall looking at this past weekend nothing really hurts. and i had a wonderful time playing computer games at home this weekend. i think i needed the chill time more than i needed another phish weekend. like yesterday i woke up and was happy i wasn't scrambling to head to the denver airport to fly home.
i haven't listened but the reviews are typical of dicks the past few years, people saying it was the worst dicks run ever and people saying no it wasn't i had a great time. people bitching about the denver crowd, which is a total mystery to me, dicks crowds are always super chill. i'm sure if i went i would've had a blast but i'm good.
anyway it's money in the bank which makes NYE easier.
3post1jack1 as a newby fan I usually ignore people saying that the shows were stinkers. Like shoot let me get y’all’s tickets next time haha. The only real stinker or a weird Setlist I thought this summer was night 1 of Wilmington. I do agree nothing super crazy went down beside the long encore. Song selection looked pretty fun imo, no crazy bust outs. I saw something that Reba hadn’t been played since 2010 in Colorado but not sure if that was accurate. As a gamer I completely understand, I’d probably have had more fun playing starfield than going to dicks as well lol.
