This is the one artist that I truly have no clue what this will look like. How do you make visuals for a jam band with an improvised setlist?
I've done some crazy improv stuff with Resolume and that's only a $1000 piece of software and a laptop, I can't imagine what the pros can do with a server farm and some proper controllers
BTW, if you want to splurge on the Venetian, great, but if watching the budget then any strip hotel between Treasure Island and The Cromwell/Caesars, or Fairfield Inn/Embassy Suites if avoiding the strip, is just about as walkable, as is the Harrah's/LINQ monorail station. You do not have to be staying at the Venetian to use the indoor walkway there to Sphere, or you can just walk on the streets.
Also, with tickets avoid any rows above 22 in the 100s if you're wanting the full visuals.

crucial note on the ticket request:
Our allotment contains tickets in all areas in the venue across all price levels where applicable. All of the seats in the 100-level offered in this pre-sale will have a full view of the stage and media plane and will NOT be located below the overhang. If your ticket request is granted, you will not know your seat locations until after your order is finalized and it is non-refundable.

i'm guessing most of the show it'll just be colors and shapes and stuff. like that whole place going white during a Maze peak will be out of control. kuroda is the best he'll figure it out.
maybe one night they'll have a gag or set piece where they use actual video? i don't know but they are good at this stuff.

Really wish we got Delaware price info before this. I booked the MGM Park last week for almost nothing but still not sure I can pull the trigger just yet.

Yeah this is def a hold up for me as well. I can drive to fest and assume it’d be cheaper than Vegas

Yeah I’m pretty much in the same boat. Fest is very drivable me for me and is just more of a priority. I’ve also been planning a May vacation with a bit of time off work. Getting out to Vegas, even if only for 2-3 days might not be worth the cost/expense. I’ll see.

delaware fest will definitely be cheaper. curveball was $250 ticket + $60 for camping + fees/tax. i'd guess base delaware ticket and camping inclusive of fees could still be <$500.

That’s my same thoughts as well. Though it would be bitching to see what CK5 does in there. I’ll have to look into flights when i get home.

Oh yeah I’m totally cool with 500+ for fest. I’ve been ball parking 500. It’s just the easiest way for me to get the most phish in.
I wonder if this will be a one time thing or if Phish just starts playing the Sphere every year.
i would bet every year, but maybe every other year. don't think it will be a one time thing. phish has such a good relationship with MSG, IIRC trey helped them test a version of the sphere 360 soundsystem in one of his solo shows. plus residencies are profitable for everyone involved and, IMO, better for fans.

having said all that, i think the hottest ticket is that first night. i get so excited thinking about being in that first crowd to see what they do with that place for the first time.

I was just talking to my buddy about that tonight. The first night is like the wild west. The tech seems bound to glitch on that first night and how they recover - that's Phish.
That said, musically -- I would bet money that the first night isnot the best of four.
If I request lotto. I guess it’s safe to say the top tier is the best bet but I keep seeing stuff saying 200s can block the 100s ? But now I can’t find where it says that. Anybody have the dets lol?

apparently the limited view seats will not be part of the lottery so you're good to go there

yeah seems like lotto is win win. i just went for best available.
all the travel packages went on sale and sold out today so thats a pretty good sign demand is gunna be high. hope i hit lotto, i want to go to the shows but i'm not paying crazy aftermarket prices for it.
