Last thing I want is to walk around all weekend around drunk frat boys, kids in toms, and poser hippie chicks wearing dead shirts that can't name more than 3 songs.
I wish there could be a few added.

I'm gonna have a ball no matter what, I'd come from Colorado just to be with my best friend and see Bjork!I'm beyond psyched for this year, but if they still have to add bands, and they want me to "interact with social media", then I'm gonna say my piece. VARIETY! The musicality of these acts is in rapid decline, that's a fact. The bands are out there too. I think they just went bargain basement due to throwing so much cash at headliners? It's easy to set up/tear doewn and mix solo acts, a dj, or duets, and cheaper too I'd imagine. I just want variety, not a bunch of stale, moody, shoe gazing....oh there I go again! I don't even mind the style, it's just so much of one thing! VIP yo, gonna get my fill!! @bonnafunky Dirtyroo- LOVE IT! Born mad, been mad ever since.

You need to listen to more music.
I do! All the time! That's why I said "the bands are out there too"...much better acts await, in my humble opinion. I even said, I don't mind the genre, just too much of one thing...how many guitar drum only acts can you have? thanks for having an opinion too! What it's all about! Have a great Roo!

Since she doesn't appear to be taking the year off after all, I'd like to throw a wish in for Amanda Palmer & The Grand Theft Orchestra. Though a Friday show in Colorado may make it unlikely.
Bring the flips back; Their set in 2010 blew my freakin mind, i fell in love..theres nothing like seeing them for the first time. Plus i'd love to hear The Terror live! Can we start one of those petitions to barack obama to send mumford and sons to allgood and furthur over to bonnaroo?

1 - This is a pretty diverse line-up 2 - How is the line-up lacking musicality a fact? That's an opinion. I am sure most people on the line-up can both perceive music and have the ability to create music. 3 - You're making an assumption that they went with bargains and I dont think that is the case.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

IGGY AND THE STOOGES. They have a show in Long Beach at Ink-N-Iron Festival on June 8 then nothing till the 24th where they hit up festivals in Europe.

1. pretty diverse, but not outdoor summer 4 day festival diverse. in past years, we had funk legends, blue grass legends, jam band legends, country legends, metal legends, hip hop legends (which we have this year!),r&b legends, punk legends, jazz legends, rockabilly legends, etc. very similar bands on this bill- so far- in my opinion. i feel- that compared to past years- we get more 1st time round internet fame acts, which is fine. but not necessarily something that transcends live, outdoors, in front of thousands.(see wild nothing) i believe the bands that earn it live for a few years are the ones who have great success at Roo. my opinion of course.
2. i do believe many of the acts are far less talented musically. you are right, that is my opinion, not fact. so much of this music peaks at a certain tempo, they can't or choose not to press beyond that.they just strum harder, and songs are just like the album with very little variance,(see mumford)& much of the lower tier stuff i'm referring to. in my opinion.
3. what i mean by bargain basement, is financially, these single and two person acts are easier to deal with. that, i will stand by, is a fact. it's far easier to put on a solo acoustic act than a legendary funk act with 9 people on stage. and when your band is 2 marginally talented people, who cannot go off script or solo, you have a much more limited ability to create. in my opinion.(see jeff the brotherhood, deap valley)
*fact* ever since they bumped Phil Lesh to 8:00 so Kayne could go on at 2am, no single member of The Dead has ever played again at Roo. This is very sad, as they did build this festival from ground up. turning point for sure. Further is more amazing live each time,my opinion- and will never be there. sad.
-I want to see/hear things i couldn't do myself. i want to hear what i've never heard, and stand in awe of talent, hard work, and dedication personified. this is art & life in celebration, & i want the best! but that's me. some folks just want to party & be on the scene, which is cool too!
i can't wait no matter what, thanks for sharing your thoughts! psyched to see so many people so excited so early! the only constant is change...
There is so much BS in that post I don´t even know where to start. Just go ahead and say what you mean. You wish there were less "indie" bands and more jam bands.
This is definitely one of the most diverse lineups I've seen at the Roo...
In my opinion...you should have to listen to all the bands on the lineup poster before you start taking sh*t about the lack of talent
Mayners post above is oozing with talent
I love Jam Bands too...But the more diverse the feat gets...the less we are going to have. With that said, there will be a couple jam additions like STS9.

I would like to see some rock/metal adds. But Baroness and Swans are a pretty good start. Overall this lineup is pretty good. Good to the point that if they add people I want to see I will just have more conflict.
I love the comment about too many guitar and drum duos but they need one more- a White Stripes reunion.
there must be a DOZEN duos this year, including one duo who"s "guitarist" plays a 3 string guitar because,( As stated in bio), LEARNING TO PLAY GUITAR IS TOO HARD!!
^This does not equal
"When it comes to creating their desired sound, JEFF believes that less is more. This idea is reflected in Jake’s decision to play a guitar with only three strings. Jake explains, “When we started the band, I didn’t know how to play guitar," he remembers, “I thought, in order to teach myself, it would be easier to play if I simplified it. I started with two strings, but you can’t really play any chords that way, so I added a third string [which added] this interesting limitation that forced me to create my own style and approach to the instrument.”?

Fuck yes! I'd be so happy for a Stooges add!
Another (and different idea that has probably been brought up before): Neko Case? She plays Primavera on May 30th and then Wilco's Solid Sound on June 27th and is totally free in between.

Twin Shadow has a tour gap from June 12 (Boston) to June 15 (DC). The only other 3 day tour gaps are around Sasquatch and Governor's Ball. twinshadow.net/live/

Apparently Phil Lesh played a secret 8:00 headlining show in 2008. Was this on Wednesday or Monday?

I thought they ended Phil's set early? If I remember this rumor correctly, Kanye was supposed to be the Which stage closer on Saturday in 2008 and would have ended at 8:30 before Pearl Jam headed the main stage with Jack Johnson before Pearl Jam. Than Kanye was moved to the What stage late night so of course he wouldn't be opening for anyone. Pearl Jam than played until 1am (they were supposed to play until 12) and that's when all shit hit the fan. And than rumor has it Phil Lesh was asked to end his set on the Which stage so Kanye could have no interference with his set, Bonnaroo indeed ended Phils 2 set show after 1 set, and than Kanye still did not play for a few hours. Whether or not this has lead to lack of Dead performance at Bonnaroo is something only they would know.

Was joking...I was there. Saw both incidents unfortunately, and remember going to the Which Stage at 8ish or so only to see a sign stating that Kanye had been moved to What around 2ish. Went to the Something else (NOLA funk) while Jack Johnson played, and then made it for Pearl Jam. Went to see Phil play until he shut down after Truckin. Then made it back to What stage, only to stand around holding my johnson while waiting for Kanye, who then, laid an egg with his performance. Never had I seen so many people leave that quickly during a performance.

1. Kanye didn't want his set moved because he didn't want to open for anyone. He wanted his show to be when it was dark. 2. There is no proof Phil Lesh ended his set early because of Kanye.

As stated in my post ,just posting the "rumor" that has circulated since 2008, but if he wanted it dark for his set why did he wait for the sun to come up?

Out of 100+, are the only bands you don't think deserve to be on the line-up Mumford, Wild Nothing, Jeff the Bro, and Deap Valley? Just curious.

Two bands that I think could be additions that kind of skirt both jam an rock would be Black Crowes and Deep Purple. I'm on the road today so its hard to check but I'm almost positive DP has a new album or a reissue coming out and are going to tour around it.
Hoping they replace Gaslight Anthem with Against Me!
I would love to see Against Me there. I have yet to see them since the Laura Jane Grace transformation. They played in Charlotte on my birthday a few days after Bonnaroo last year and I just couldn't get myself to spend the money that soon after. Should have though, it was only the second or third show as Laura.
