Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Good god, he said he was not a 100 percent sure...therefore making it difficult to answer a SOLID yes or no, that you are demanding. Although he does have a strong suspicion it is the case based upon A) B) C). Can we just let it go?
Why don't you mods ever get on his case, out of curiosity?
He can instigate or perpetuate these dumb arguments, but as soon as someone calls him on the nonsense it's all about leaving poor, victimized Jess alone? I am aware he didn't begin this discussion, but he took the side of the guy with tons of inaccuracies in his comment (which were being corrected) just to argue with the people saying the "GRATEFUL DEAD HATE ROO FOREVA!!" comments were not true.
He's a grown man, if he's going to argue with people or put out a divisive opinion, he should be prepared to be argued with. And as Problem Dog said, he's just wording his response a specific way so he's never wrong.
Yes, yes, I know "ignore him," "grow up," etc.
Never said Jess was poor or victimized. It seems he answered your question just not how you wanted him to. He had reasons for his suspicion that Phil does not want to come back to Roo, but not rock solid proof? Why is that not a good enough answer? If he was taking the guys side he would say, without a doubt Phil hates Roo. that was not what he said, he said I 'think' Phil does not want to come back because of this this and this.
As for problem dog, I don't know what to tell ya. If I was having a discussion with somebody and they were wording their responses in such a manner, I guess I would just let it go. There is nothing wrong with discussion but getting upset about a discussion because you do not like the way others are conducting themselves seems strange to me. There easy way to resolve that.
I am not telling you to grow up, but moving on to another discussion with somebody that more suits your preferences may be the best option.
Haha that's just what I believe the case is with Mickey Hart. Who the hell wants to see the Mickey Hart Band?
Yes, you just applied it to Mickey Hart. I expanded it to everyone else. It's just a theory. In the five years in question, they have only repeated the Sunday headliner twice (and you can't fault them for repeating Phish). It may just not be the Dead's turn in the batting order yet.
Totally. Things just don't work out sometimes. They'll be back, and it will be (Number of years since their last appearance at Bonnaroo) times better when they are.
Can we all just agree that Phil Lesh & Friends in '08 was f*ckin' baller and move on?

Or he's giving a somewhat thought out response which is probably closer to the truth. It's kind of far fetched that Lesh and Weir are holding some hardcore grudge against Roo, but at the same time, it's strange that it goes from 7 years straight of having some member of the Dead play to 5 years without. You'd think one of them would sneak in there at least one year, but as Zapp mentioned earlier, they may have just not been asked.
Edit: I suck at grammar.
This is a totally reasonable position, but the problem is that it's not the position he normally takes. When this subject comes up, he clearly favors one side. If he's going to argue that the Dead are purposefully avoiding Roo, he should stand behind that and not leave a backdoor. Otherwise he just should maybe stop bringing it up. I think most people wouldn't mind it if that topic disappeared forever.
I just want to hear a response from a Lesh/Roo beef truther to explain Furthur playing Outside Lands other than "The Dead is from San Francisco."
I am not a truther, but I just want to throw out an idea. Taking inspiration from klim's post from the last page or so, it may not be the promoters that they are pissed at so much as the crowd. If you can take your pick of festivals to play at, why play a festival where your last experience had people yelling at you to get off stage so somebody else could play?
That's more like it. - I wanted to see Danzig last year because I used to be a huge fan and I walked up into that melt on a headful and it sent me into a fit of hysterical laughter that lasted through most of the weekend. Pretty funny that later it was revealed that he was actually pleased with the whole thing.
I thought that Danzig set last year was fantastic. I went into it not knowing what to expect after reading about his hissy fit at Fun Fun Fun Fest and it actually ended up being one of my favorite performances last year. He can still put on a hell of a show when he wants to.

This happened?
I am just going by what klim posted despite me knowing that anecdotal evidence is usually terrible to support a point. Klim is usually a pretty solid poster, so I wouldn't expect him to just make things up to get a rise out of people.

flanzo, I was talking about having a good time 'here' meaning inforoo. Ha ha, I'd cut a motherquacker if he tried to trounce on my actual 'Roo parade, but here its all a joke.
I mean the internet, it has turned the entire planet into one big sarcastic joke.
I don't engage in the kinds of discourse that you are probably so eloquent with. I like to be a positive person. I was genuinely interested in some Jack White melts. I read and reread said article and voiced that I believe both Jack White and Kanye West act rediculously. I also made a comment that both the President of the United States of America and I have shared the EXACT same opinion of Mr. West (even on multiple occasions on his part as well - no word on what Obama thinks of JW but I just sent an email request of his favorite JW side projects - to be discussed later of course).
Since you lack what is called perspective you took my in-jest comment about your favorite rapper as some kind pedestal from which you proclaim your allegiance to the great K. West and all that he stands for. Oh yeah and Jack White SUX.
I bought a ticket for the JW show down at a small venue here last year. I didn't go. People were scalping tickets in the 80-100$ and I miracled mine to a girl who really wanted to go. I wasn't that enthusiastic about seeing him (the Dead Weather would be a different story). I would have stayed around for whatever shiz-show Kanye was able to eventually pull off that night in 2008 because I can respect that he is an intelligent musician which a great talent for spectacle. He is still a jackass. (I understand the irony of calling someone out for name calling on the message board and then turning around and calling Kanye a jackass and if there is a hell for hypocrites I will have some explaining to do. Kanye is a talented genius of a jackass and until JW stumbles drunk onstage and tries to rip an award for a category that he was not even in contention for and try to 'rightfully' bestow it upon another nominee the jackass ratio is still Kanye > JWhite.
Moving on to possible lineup additions, I've still got my fingers crossed for Iggy & The Stooges. I don't thiiiiink they'd be too big for an addition, would they?
They're no bigger than Rod Y Gab, and they were an addition last year, so using that logic I would say it's possible.

I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure klim was joking, and tacking onto the "snowballing of rumors" that was happening in this thread at that moment. Phil was on Which and Kanye was on What, so there is no reason why anyone would actually do that. I was at Sigur Ros -> waiting for Kanye that evening, so I cannot speak to that with certainty.

Kanye - Jack White - Axl Rose 2014!!!
Okay, this is getting stupid.
The point was, you added the "jackass" to Kanye, but excused White's similarly jackassed behavior. So, if Kanye is a jackass for being an insane egomaniac, Jack White is, too.
West isn't my favorite rapper, btw. And I don't just make arguments for people I like, I don't like Tom Petty and I argued with idiots who said he wasn't "worthy" of a headliner spot (which was way more ridiculous than anything you're saying, for the record).
I fight for logic, that's all. Make more sense next time.

I didn't go in '08, so I am only going off what I have read from other people. klimfactor, what say you?

No it was stupid a long time ago. And you know this.
and for the record, just because they are insane egomaniacs does not = jackasses. Stupid behavior is what makes you a jackass and I still don't believe what Jack White did was stupid per se. It was desperate and frustrated but not foolish. Kanye exhibits foolish behavior on the global media level on the reg. i.e. post Katrina and the awards thingy I mentioned. This is why he is a jackass. Get f'n over it dude.

So do you guys think this year will have additions like 2011 to 2008 where it's 1 lineup addition, comedy additions then cafe acts or like last year where it was 1st lineup additions, Comedy, 2nd additions, then 3rd additions/cafe acts?

And I can see you're a stubborn chimp, so go ahead thinking that Kanye is a big mean jackass and Jack White is a tormented genius who only acts like a big mean jackass when his genius overwhelms him or whatever.
Name calling... I can see what were dealing with here. -stay classy out there.
