As if taking photos is the worst of the "forbidden" things people do at concerts.
I can understand an artist being upset when fans are close to the stage and using really bright flashes. That's pretty blinding. The professionals are told, "No flash photography."

Where does it say he was using a flash? More likely than not he wasn't.

I'm speaking in generalities, not to that specific instance. And I should have added I can understand an artist being upset by flash photography, but not to the point of freaking out and disrupting a show on his or her own.
Pretty much all Jack White shows are forbidding photography. He's not the only artist that does this. Nothing new.
No one said it was. Kicking a person out for doing it, when you know a bunch of others likely snapped a picture, is egotistical and insane. Basically, it's what everyone says Kanye West is like. That's our point.
Besides, this was supposed to be an intimate set. Some doucher tweeting the whole thing kinda ruins that.
What a fan boy. Yeah, the huge fan who took a picture of an artist they really like is the doucher, not the rock and roll celebrity who kicked that person out for snapping a photo.
That's more like it. - I wanted to see Danzig last year because I used to be a huge fan and I walked up into that melt on a headful and it sent me into a fit of hysterical laughter that lasted through most of the weekend. Pretty funny that later it was revealed that he was actually pleased with the whole thing.
He was upset initially that he was playing for a crowd of too-cool-for-school hipsters that got their tickets on the secondary market. When he tried to perform he got little to no feedback and when you are trying to launch a new album you need a little enthusiam to generate hype. He sounded like he got frustrated AND kicked a guy out because he was blatantly abusing the policies of that particular performance. His career, like one of the articles mentioned, is built around being mysterious and if you have a bunch of people going to your shows, taking pictures and posting them on whatever social media site is their choice, it tends to take away some of that mystery.
I'm not trying to defend the guy - ending the concert early is way worse than taking a picture of the concert. He wins the primary summers breeze award that night - he is overly protective of his image - as I've stated.
In conclusion, JW - overly sensitive genius primadonna, KW - overly sensitive genius primadonna who is a complete jackass*.
And I can see you're a stubborn chimp, so go ahead thinking that Kanye is a big mean jackass and Jack White is a tormented genius who only acts like a big mean jackass when his genius overwhelms him or whatever.

Name calling... I can see what were dealing with here. -stay classy out there.
You're new here, learn to roll with the derails or you won't last very long.
And I called you chimp because I genuinely think your brain lacks the evolutionary leaps that separate humanoids from primates. That's not an insult so much as an observation.
So you're saying it's more likely than not that the "Curse of Lesh is real?" I'm not upset, I'd just like to know your opinion for the record.
I have spent years denying it, but every year they are not there again I believe a little more. Also I did not actually listen to the stream until last year. I really have no idea at this point, I would love to see them back in some form though.
So instead of answering a yes or no question, you are going to hedge. That way you can keep b*tching about Kanye, but you won't have to admit you were wrong when a Dead project eventually returns. Got it.

I was close to the front of the crowd and got some pics of danzig, lucky for me he didn't lunge into the crowd

How many years does it take? I think there was obviously some issue otherwise we would have seen at least Mickey Hart Band or something by now.
Haha what would Mickey Hart have to gain by standing behind Phil Lesh like that though? I doubt there's just that strong of a brotherhood that every person ever affiliated with the Dead has boycotted Bonnaroo. I'm sure Hart would play if he were asked. He probably hasn't been.
EDIT: Also, how far does this net of refusing to play Bonnaroo spread? Warren Haynes and Joe Russo have played since and played/play with Dead/Furthur.

Moving on to possible lineup additions, I've still got my fingers crossed for Iggy & The Stooges. I don't thiiiiink they'd be too big for an addition, would they?

You are misinformed if you think that I am new here. I have operated under other names. This one works best for me now.
I see that you cast insults like a child. That's too bad because aren't you like 28? I'm not much older so I'd consider us about the same age, but I would never act with such wanton abandonment of foresight or intelligence.
You can call me anything you like, but it really comes across as a poor reflection of yourself. I have loved this festival for a long time and if you think a couple of snarky comments that you've made on this message board are going to dissuade me from enjoying my time here, you have severely underestimated my perseverance and character.
The spirit of Bonnaroo is stronger than you, don't fight it. We can learn to love one another if we can get out from behind our egos. After all, were all 'here' for the same purpose. Lets not try to find the enemy within our ranks. He is out there somewhere and he is nothing like us.
As far as additions that I would like to see that are still possible. Black Moth Super Rainbow STS9 - don't love 'em but with the lack of jam/tronica and the facts that Bisco is unreliable and moe. sucks we might get 'em again - i agree it would be too soon Black Crowes - a bit generic to me but still fulfills a genre that is lacking a bit They Might be Giants - I consider them a staple of my diet. Its almost their turn again.
Some kind of psuedo-country classic like Kenny Rodgers but with as many excellent geezers that we already have on the lineup - this spot doesn't really need filling.
Can someone that Jess hasn't childishly blocked for disagreeing with him say "put up or shut up, Jess," please?
Good god, he said he was not a 100 percent sure...therefore making it difficult to answer a SOLID yes or no, that you are demanding. Although he does have a strong suspicion it is the case based upon A) B) C). Can we just let it go?

Y'all fight more then the ladies of Walmart over the last donut.
For the purpose of saying it, never argue with idiots, they'll drag you to their level, and beat you with experience.
I like "Never argue with a fool, onlookers won't be able to tell you apart from them" or something along those lines.
And I'm not fighting with Jess, I am tired of watching him talk around giving answers to things he's so outspoken about.
Basically, if he's going to be such an authority on stuff, he needs to be on one side or the other. A yes or no. A "They hate Roo and will never play there again" or "this is overblown, they'll play eventually."

It's not that hard, I don't think.
I can picture you right now. You look just like your avatar, but the smoke is coming from your ears. Made my day.

Why don't you mods ever get on his case, out of curiosity?
He can instigate or perpetuate these dumb arguments, but as soon as someone calls him on the nonsense it's all about leaving poor, victimized Jess alone? I am aware he didn't begin this discussion, but he took the side of the guy with tons of inaccuracies in his comment (which were being corrected) just to argue with the people saying the "GRATEFUL DEAD HATE ROO FOREVA!!" comments were not true.
He's a grown man, if he's going to argue with people or put out a divisive opinion, he should be prepared to be argued with. And as Problem Dog said, he's just wording his response a specific way so he's never wrong.

Or he's giving a somewhat thought out response which is probably closer to the truth. It's kind of far fetched that Lesh and Weir are holding some hardcore grudge against Roo, but at the same time, it's strange that it goes from 7 years straight of having some member of the Dead play to 5 years without. You'd think one of them would sneak in there at least one year, but as Zapp mentioned earlier, they may have just not been asked.

Great, you're the most mature slightly-older-than-28 year old ever. "Wanton abandonment of foresight or intelligence?" This coming from the guy who just said a bunch of false statements about an article everyone had access to? You made up things arguments to argue against, and then dismissed all of Jack White's incidents that apply to those very things that you criticize Kanye for.

Okay, what are you, 30? This is the internet, and I called you a "chimp." In the scheme of things, that is not even a blip on the inappropriateness radar.
Who the hell is telling you not to enjoy Bonnaroo? Again with this comments coming out of nowhere. I don't care if you build a grass hut and live on the farm year-round. Do whatever the hell you want, seriously, your daily actions are of no concern to me. But I am going to correct people when they're wrong, or when their argument is logically irrational. You had both going on, so I corrected you. It wasn't until you ignored my comments and just kept repeating yourself did I compare you to a primate. [/quote]

This isn't Bonnaroo, it's the internet. You want a hug? Talk to a guidance counselor. You can ask around, if you don't run around disagreeing with people without backing it up and making wildly illogical comments I won't call you out on them.

Edit: I suck at grammar.
Haha that's just what I believe the case is with Mickey Hart. Who the hell wants to see the Mickey Hart Band?

Yes, you just applied it to Mickey Hart. I expanded it to everyone else. It's just a theory. In the five years in question, they have only repeated the Sunday headliner twice (and you can't fault them for repeating Phish). It may just not be the Dead's turn in the batting order yet.

I can't argue with you, Dave, you know that.
Just suffice it to say that Jess isn't new to this topic, we are all aware where he stands for the most part, and he's trying to play both sides of the fence, which is obnoxious for the eventual Further/Roo performance where Jess comes in and tells us he knew it all along.
Either the GD family is anti-Roo and hates their faces and wants to punch them and never play Roo again, or they just haven't found a logistical match for any number of reasons.
Why the f*ck couldn't this have happened with Widespread, btw?
