Its not unusual to have fun with everyone either...especially at Roo. Im in but i hope he gets a day show. Notin like a full suited Tom Jones sweating his beans off mid afternoon in Manchester.

Not sure if you missed the sublty of my joke, or if you piggybacked on it.
Either way, I've had that song in my head since I typed it, lol.

Totally piggybacked. And just the opening horn section has been on repeat in my head as well.
A rule of thumb that I try to use when deciding if someone is playing Bonnaroo is whether or not I have to research international flights. If I do, I just assume that the artist is unlikely at best.
I think the international thing depends on the size/travel ability of the act. When Jay-Z headlined a couple years ago I believe his turnaround from Isle of Wight was less than 24 hrs. I'm not saying that The Black Crowes are quite on the same scale but they would certainly be able to make the overseas trip if they really wanted to play Bonaroo followed by Amsterdam.
Yeah but I think that in general we see more acts drop out of Bonnaroo because they also have shows booked in Europe during the festival than we see actually pull it off. (E.g., We've already had Gaslight Anthem drop this year.) I think that Jay Z is the exception that proves the rule.

I'd love it if The Avett Brothers played again. I know that they are doing the Newport Folk Fest in July, and they were phenomenal last year at 'Roo. I'd love it if Brandi Carlile would play as well.
After watching Richard Thompson blow away a packed 3rd and Lindsley last night, I'd love to see him as an add. His band is really tight and Thompson can still tear up a guitar with the best of them.

We got additions two weeks ago. (yes, comedy counts)
It's officially the latest we have gotten music additions. Happy now, Capt. Semantics ? The festival is also later this year, isn't it, so it shouldn't be a huge surprise that the music adds are later.

I know I just get excited. I don't think I can wait much lo ger for music additions. Its just that I don't pay much attention to the comedy is all.

Patience is a virtue I know.
Ain't no problem with being excited. If anything, the date just means that it shouldn't be too awful much longer.

I'm also pretty sure this is the most complete lineup we've been given on release. I had the numbers somewhere in this thread, but the difference is ~15 bands more than last year.

I remember you saying that. It definitely looks like it is going to be a one set of music adds year. Well, two if you are counting Cafe adds.
Whatever we all know the adds are out there and a long time coming whether it be one set or or more I am just ready to start figuring out who I will and will not see. Oh that is when I get the schedule lol but seriously I want to start weighing my options.

George . It def. seems more complete -- and maybe they will have less adds in the thought that less is more? I am fully doubting more than 1 top 30 addition, which IMO will be some interesting LN act.
The overlaps get annoying for all involved (rushed productions, us bitching about conflicts); more money to spend on quality acts? Possibly longer average set times? (pure speculation)

I agree with us getting one Santigold sized act and handful of up and comers. An idea I've been mulling over is that it all has to do with the absence of a jam headliner. Sure Petty will player for 2 hours or so maybe even 2:30, but that's 90 less than Phish did last year, and an hour less than DMB in 2010. I could see this void adding another block of sets to Sunday, which would lead to 3-4 more artists than years past.
Now WSP ('11) was only scheduled for 2.5 hours and that lineup wasn't much different size from 2012. Either way there's still probably some extra time to fill on Sunday either with extended set times or possibly an additional round of shows.
