You have to forgive me if my initial reaction is "you suck". That is obviously just jeleasy talking. I don't know you and I am sure you don't "suck". Nothing but love mike 5420. Some day when I have the RV some one will say I suck and not mean it. I can't wait.
Haha its all good man. I know the feeling my first 2 bonnaroos were in a tent and after the scorcher of 2010 we decided it was time to RV it. rented onsite RV 2011 and 2012. This year we're renting and driving one down in style. So pumped.
Don't sleep in a tent in the first place unless it is raining. It makes such a huge difference.
Works well unless you have ant/grasshopper issues; which happen in different areas on the farm.
Personally, I have a rough rug that I always bring to Roo that I place right in front of my tent. The tents sun guard was cool for a couple years; ended up adding an EZ-Up over the top of my tent now As long as it's not wet (always dries in the sun), sleep out there after the sauna starts.
Of course beer, water and snacks; if you are awesome- a quick breakfast Oh and never think about cleanliness into the grand trough/sink bath. Bask in your dirty hippie moment
Water, protein bar, beer, quick workout session (usually some pushups or a quick jog) to get the blood flowing, water, breakfast, beer, shower, nap, Centeroo.
Whenever I would see people going for a jog, I would think they were quacking nuts!!!

You forget you are talking to someone who wakes up regularly with a kid sitting on him while he sleeps. Ants and grasshoppers ain't got sh*t on that.
I sleep in a hammock unless it is raining (when I sleetp at all). We set one up every year. It works absolutely perfect, unless the people you are with decide to wake you up early.
WLViking How do you set up your hammock/what kind do you use?
The steel poles collapse. I like the cloth hammock because it is sturdier if you fall into it after a long night out, and gives you a bit more support. we use an older version of this kind right here.
The beer thing has been mentioned a bit, but it was almost ritual for me to get up, crack open a can of Dale's Pale Ale (my canned craft beer of choice for Bonnaroo)... and I just go with the flow, from there, only doing specifically planned things if they involve seeing a show. Some of the most fun times of Bonnaroo are the moments sitting around in the morning after everyone has awoken, and if you're in a bigger group, likely the only time you'll have everyone in one place in a day.
WLViking How do you set up your hammock/what kind do you use?
I know this question was directed at WLViking, but figured I'd throw my input/experience in here as well.
Last year I bought a Vario hammock stand by Byer of Maine. I found one locally at an Academy, think it was about $130. I know it seems a little expensive, but holy hell am I glad I bought it. I'm a pretty big guy (6'5" 230 lbs) and this thing held me without an issue. The poles are heavy gauge steel and it puts together pretty easily (10 minutes). I kept the box it came in for transport. Obviously this is just a hammock stand, so I strung my Eagle's Nest Outfitters hammock up in it, but any hammock will work with it.
Needless to say, it was a huge hit. Someone from camp was always in it. This thing was invaluable for the extra sleep/comfort it gave. I think I only actually slept in my tent once last year. When our group would head out to Centeroo, my neighbors would use it to get a little more sleep. I must have had 5 random people walk by me when I was in it asking where I got it. You can be sure it'll be in the car again this year!
After I got back from Bonnaroo last year, I actually set this hammock stand up in my living room for a couple of months and loved it. I live in an apartment though, so after a while I got tired of stepping around it. But I wouldn't be surprised if it ends up in my living room again after 'roo this year

I might have to bite the bullet and order one of these. I honestly think it would make a huge difference in how my bad back survives roo... I just need to lay down someplace comfy once in a while! To answer the original question: Shower, coffee, water, then a 32oz cup filled with ice and pink wine, a good book and some loungin'. Worked like a charm in '11. Of course, I am An Old and wake up at 7am whether its Roo or not... so I didn't find it that painful.
After doing it all wrong my first Bonnaroo (see: Bonnaroo Regrets thread) I don't usually drink until after 6 PM.
I put an EZ Up with a drop-down on the sun-up side over my tent. I now have three battery operated fans, too. This has pushed my sleep-in time from about 5:30 AM to about 9 AM. This year I'm also trying a new tent with an internal rain flap that I hope will allow me to open the windows in the morning to have better air flow.
(Note: Use the portopotties on the way back to your tent for the night so that you have less of a chance of that waking you up earlier than you have to. Also, do the baby wipe thing before you go to sleep. You'll sleep better and won't have to do it in a rapidly heating up tent in the morning.)
After I give up and get up in the morning, though, I chill in a chair in the shade, eat some pop tarts, drink some water and read a book. I'm usually in Centeroo before noon.
Yeah, I'd have to say that reserving drinks for after it starts to cool down in the evening is safest.
As far as waking up in the morning, I can't say enough good things about those Gatorade G2 gel pack things. Chug one then have a good carb/protein balanced breakfast and lots of water and you're golden.
