Siggy - Your avatar would beg to differ with you. @bandeto - I dont really like to be touched when sober. BlackAmy - A sign wont cut it. I recommend not hugging.
Some people do not like to be touched by randos. I recommend against this.
He could carry a "Free Hugs" sign.
my sociology professor had an assignment where we had to "break a norm"- basically just violate one of society's unwritten rules of conduct- and one of the girls did that. she stood in the mall with a sign and hugged the mess out of anyone who was game.

"free hugs" sign is the same as saying " no disrespect but..."; it makes the person believe that they can say whatever they want with no repercussions. Some ppl might get angry even with the sign but i do recommend doing it because the reactions could be golden
Just going up and hugging is a bit like this only safer maybe.
If you see a couple, all cute together, taking selfies (grrrr), go up and ask if they want a picture of them together. Most couple would probable say yes. Take their camera, walk a foot away, then run quickly about 10 feet away. Suddenly turn around a take a picture. You can get some great ones, but you might also be caught from behind b4 you turn around and opppps....cr****

I had the same assignment but I spent time facing the "wrong" way in crowded elevators. Some people get really upset at that sort of thing.

my professor suggested that one but I hate elevators- I think facing the wrong way would probably make me more nervous than it would everyone else! here's an interesting video of a group of kids that did it by driving 55 on I-85 in Atlanta, GA. if you've ever driven that stretch of interstate you know why that was a bad idea...

I want hugs! I think I might go in to the bedroom and shake the kids furiously and then run back out. Casually walk back in and say "Oh, look who's waking up!" and then dive in between them for hugs.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
