Can't ask for anything better than this. Reminds me of 2009.
it is still going to be hot. Just check out the heat index. most of them say "feels like 100". it is still better than some past Roo's where it was 98 and felt like 112.

It's close enough that I'm letting myself get optimistic about the weather. Will still need to pack a rain coat but I'm gonna leave the boots home. Might be just enough rain Thursday to tamp the dust down after everyone drives onto the farm. The key is that the lows each night are in the low to mid-60s. Seems like we'll be dealing with a fairly dry heat during the day.

Yeah - that's where I'm at. I just keep repeating that nothing so far indicates a day as hot/humid as 2010 or 2011 so we will survive just fine. I mean Friday looks like low 80s down to low 60s. The lowest high of any day in 2011 was 94, I think.

I'd bring the boots. Word from the farm is that the mud is so bad in Pod 1 that they're having to remove it with a backhoe.

Wednesday looks to be close to 2010 standards, for those of you getting in early. A cold front drops southward on Thursday, bringing in much nicer weather from after the front passage to sometime Saturday. But the pattern bringing good weather fades late Saturday. By Sunday you get a heat index floating around 2011 levels.
I haven't seen pod 1 firsthand but I saw a few pics volunteers posted and they saw cars get stuck. What stage field was pretty wet and muddy but could be worse elsewhere. I think the high heat tomorrow (wednesday) should help a bit I hope
Hey guys, once again this year @bonnaroowx is going to be doing daily Bonnaroo-specific weather forecasts this year, as well as REAL TIME rain and storm coverage (imagine someone warning you it's going to rain on the farm and then telling you how long it will last). You can follow them on twitter: twitter.com/bonnaroowx
This is a free, non-Bonnaroo-affiliated service provided by some local weather nerds who operate @nashseverewx and @ruthseverewx. Out of the goodness of their hearts. It's insane. They work with the local national weather service and "live-cast" severe weather here in Middle Tennessee (what they do is INCREDIBLE, and if you live in a place that has tornado warnings from time to time, you can imagine how fantastic it is to get specific, to-the-point information in 140 characters or less when you're in your "safe place").
Two years ago I was DJing on Radio Bonnaroo and asked David, who operates NashSevereWX, if he could just give me general forecasts so I could share them on the air. He ended up tweeting directly to me right before Buffalo Springfield got rained on, warning me when it would start, how long it would last, and that it wouldn't require hunkering down in my car or anything.
I recommend setting up sms alerts for all of their tweets, in case you aren't getting data service - that way you'll get updates texted directly to your phone.
So, was I the only one that thought the weather this year was beautiful? Not as good as last year's but plenty of moments it came close!
I am sincerely concerned for next year, assuming I can go, because I really don't know how the weather can be better than what we had (plus come on, how do you top Paul McCartney?)

Simply amazing weather! I was worried since we didn't go last year and I heard about the awesome weather. So I stocked up on a boatload of "D" batteries for our fans, never had to use them!! The constant breeze was awesome and I slept in until 10 am in the tent which never happens! I'm looking forward to discussing next year's weather outlook!
I would agree it was a decently pleasant weekend for weather. I still used my fan, but loved the breeze. Wasn't a fan of the rain Monday morning again, but it was a bit better than last year's Monday with pouring rain the whole time we were packing. We at least got some spans of time where it stopped (but still needed to dry out everything in the end)
I also feel like dust was barely there and I never even saw 1 of those road watering trucks this year... I guess the big rains Sunday/Monday before Roo helped a lot. I was scared after walking in the squishy/wet What stage field on Tuesday but it seemed to have improved well. Heck, there were some interesting mud spots where it was dry on top but still squishy underneath and was really fun to walk on.
yay for no sunburn! though...i did see some people with red backs/shoulders/etc... tsk tsk!
