I've gotten word that California has had a bad bout of hot weather lately and forecasters are talking about hotter weather moving east across the nation.
Not sure if it will make it in time for Bonnaroo but we might as well know about it.

It's looking pretty good, but I'm going to keep an eye on it. I live in Nashville, and it's been pretty mild so far. I'm really excited that it's going to be dropping to 60s at night, that means comfortable sleep and cool mornings. Yay!!!

So far the weather forecast looks good, but its really hard to tell with more then three days out. I think its safe to say what Thursdays weather will be, but Saturday and Sunday could be radically different.
Not necessarily, as long as it has rained some in the days leading up. It wasn't dusty last year, and there was no rain until the wee hours of Sunday morning.
The forecast looks pretty good. I'm a little concerned by that predicted hot Wednesday. It seems like it would have to rain quite a bit on Thursday to bring the temps down for the rest of the weekend as predicted.

Last year it rained on at least 2 of the 3 days leading up to Roo. That is why it was so nice last year, despite there being no rain during the actual festival until Sunday.
The Weather Channel forecast is calling for some rain over each of the next three days in Manchester.

Judging by Accuweather, it looks like it will be nice. Not as good as last year, but I would think that was the best/most comfortable weather there has ever been in a Roo.
The high for all four days are between 88-91. The only rain they are calling for is on Thursdays. They are calling for some Thunderstorms, right now betweem 9-11 A.M. It won't let you see the hourly forecast past 4 PM for Thursday yet on Accuweather, but should be able to tonight. If it is going to rain any, I would prefer Thursday. Go ahead and get it out of the way while nobody is playing at the main stages.
Right now the Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday after Roo looks terrible weather wise in Manchester. Looks like we could be getting mostly lucky.
Doesn't look bad, but chance of rain keeps going up for Thursday. I really don't want to set up in the rain, but since I only have a 20 min drive, I should be able to time it so I don't have to...

so help me out here because i'm terrible when it comes to wrapping my head around temperatures.
last year it was nice to have a hoodie on me when night fell in centeroo. but i'd rather not cram a hoodie into my camelbak if I don't have to. with these kinds of lows do y'all think a hoodie will be necessary?

Dude, my wife and I are totally bringing something LS to the late-night shows. Cool is one thing; damp and cool is something else entirely. I remember the late-night shows in 2009 being chilly enough to where people were laying around under blankets and sleeping bags and so forth.
Edit: part of it's a function of how much you're moving.

A preshow volunteer warned us that the campgrounds are looking pretty muddy right now and will take a few days to dry up. Be prepared to get your feet muddy and tarps for the campsite floor just in case
Yeah, it came a good storm yesterday around noon and another around 6 yesterday, but if there is no more rain until Thursday, it should dry out alot between now and then...

thats the thing thats hard to measure, is its the contrast between being in the heat all day and the relatively cooler temperatures of the evening. so i guess i'll pack along the hoodie just in case.

I always bring and end up using a hoodie when I sleep.

Sunburn can also cause you to be cooler at night. Hopefully everyone remembers the SPF and doesn't have to deal with it though.

Indeed....I do photo so I am rarely still for more than the time it takes to have a meal. If you're camped out under a tree at 3 AM at Other or something, i see how it could get slightly chilly in daytime attire.

It looks like a cold front comes through on Thursday, where in front of it it'll be really warm and muggy (see Wednesday). Once the front passes through, it starts clearing out and looks really good for Friday and Saturday. (Friday looks to be amazing if this holds up.) Sunday might be a bit muggier, but nothing on the level of 2010.
