Damn I wished I could find the thread from 2010. Someone asked "Where do 80,00 people go if there's a tornado?" and another person simply responded "Up."
this made me laugh so hard the first time I read it. one of my favorite inforoo lines EVER
Me too! That's why I still remember it 3 years later
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

Sadly we're still a little too far out to know for sure what it's gonna be like. By June 3rd we can start to look at the 10-day forecasts. Before then there's too many chaotic effects in the forecast mix.

Definitely too early, but the future forecast for Manchester on Accuweather has some pretty low temps predicted the week before Roo, so I guess that's a good sign.

I always struggle with what kind of Roo weather is preferable. I think last year was as good as it ever gets, and I heard '09 was nice but I missed that year. It's hard for me to decide which was worse: the 108 degree heat index in 2010, the thunderstorms & seas of mud in 2004, or Dustaroo 2007 (or 2011). I'm leaning towards '04.

Living in Louisiana's crappy weather always makes other places weather not so bad. 2011 was still pretty hot tho, even if it was hotter back home...100+ is never gunna be comfortable. I don't mind a little rain at Roo as long as its just a little. Increase humidity decrease dust. I don't know that humidity can be any worse than it is in Louisiana.
How reliable are these long range forecasts? Has it been true for the area for May? I'm curious.
It's been quite a bit cooler and wetter in Nashville than usual for about the past month. Usually once May hits I have the AC on most of the time, and I think I have only turned it on twice so far. I have put the heat on more times than the AC, which never happens in May!

I'm crossing my fingers for sweltering heat and no rain the entire time. I can handle heat. I loath clouds, mud, and rain. Nothing puts a damper on my day at roo more than an ugly overcast sky.
I think one thing people who arn't from the south don't understand about the weather in Manchester is that given you are essentially praying for rain not to occur between half of Wednesday through half of Monday, that is 5 days including both halves, and that is a pretty unreasonable request.
Where I live I feel like a typical summer day in June is hot and humid from the start till mid afternoon when the humidity starts to taper off. Then a huge 30 minute thunder storm around 3:00pm sweeps through and brings back the humidity, then repeat every day.
It will most likely rain at least one day at roo, just plan as if it will because its more likely than not that it will rain.
While I can only hope it's not hot as hell (which is the norm) I'd rather heat than a downpour. I enjoy some rain, a nice afternoon shower to cool down The Farm, but if my tent got flooded I might cry. I've dealt with that situation once in my early days of Cub Scouts and it was absolutely miserable. Granted the storms back in I think '09/10 weren't bad enough to cause problems fer me, so I'm okay with that amount of precipitation.

Clouds are just fine with me. The only time I have ever been was last year, so I am spoiled.
I don't mind a little rain, as long as its not a downpour or an all day/night thing. Phish concert was excellent with a little rain.

The weather last year was the first of many moments where I could turn to my friend and say "It's a Bonnaroo miracle!". It truly was miraculous. I am hoping for another break this year, but really it's so unrealistic to expect good weather. I feel bad for those that have only been to Roo in '12, they have no idea how bad it could get.
37 degrees here in east Tennessee last night...we live up in the mountains, but still. The local Mennonites usually have tomatoes at their produce market by now, but this year they're barely even getting lettuce or spinach. The weather's not unpleasant, but horribly atypical for mid-May.
Definitely packing a light fleece jacket and a pair of jeans for the late-night shows, just in case.
Also have only been in 2011 and 2012 and I was ill prepared last year. I didn't bring enough warm clothes and I was freezing in my tent.
My first year was 2010 and it was brutally hot. In 2012 I also froze my balls off on Sunday night - Monday morning, to make matters worse I totally forgot to pack my sleeping bag and a friend's girl friend had run off with my only jacket (the only long sleeve thing I brought) and they left the farm halfway through Phish. I just huddled shivering in a corner of my tent with my dirty laundry on piled top of me! The trek back to BFE from TO on Monday morning was wretched. I'm definitely bringing some extra warm clothes this year just in case, and I do hope I have to use them!
Last year is the first time we've ever needed to worry about warmth. I'm pretty certain we're doomed this year to raging heat. Not only because last year was so lovely but we're also nearly a week later. That can make a HUGE difference in the south.

It's still in the high 70s/low 80s during the day in Atlanta, with 40s/50s in the mornings and at night. And it's also super windy, regardless of the temp or if there's a storm coming. We've also had a TON OF RAIN. Now I can't speak for Manchester obviously, but in the four times I've been (09, 10, 11, 12), the weather has been similar to that of ATL/Knoxville. Just pack for all weather and make sure you nail your tent tight in the ground so in the off chance it's windy, nothing will blow away
I don't know what it's been like in Tennessee, but so far, it's been unusually cool here in North Carolina. I have a feeling the heat is going to 'roid up before Bonnaroo, though
