Please tell me how a a solid week of thunderstorms before roo is a good sign?
Rain the week before tends to mean less dust doesn't it?
Yep as wet as it's been the past month or so around here, I cannot imagine we will have dust problems - unless it doesn't rain again from now until Roo......
Although the cooler temps lately may seem like a good sign, I am not going to get my hopes up with a full month to go. Nashville experienced its all-time high temperature just a few weeks after the super mild Bonnaroo last year.

So I emailed the weather Guy from Nashville to get his opinion as well as doing some research on my own. He and I both believe it will be a hot one with the typical TN humidity. As far as rain, we have chances at typical summer time hit or miss type stuff. I know we are looking at mid and upper 80's here all week so that's a good sign. Whatever happens I'm ready to be on the farm!!!!!
I'd rather swelterin' heat than a biblical downpour. I can manage the infernal sun, but again a huge amount of rain is not ideal to me. I just cannot be wet all weekend. I'll be payin' close attention to the weather once we're about two weeks out.
Yeah I always leave Sunday night after the last band. The rain was kind of shitty though Sunday night. The Chattanoogan Hotel is the shit. Quietest town I've ever seen.
I don't mind rain during the festival. But packing up last year Monday morning was the pits.
Its not to bad when everything was dry except the tarp structure. That the second reason we put so much effort into putting it together next to the shade factor.

Long term is looking like it's going to be a really rainy one. Sorry for everyone who doesn't like the rain! I will enjoy the lower temperatures because the scorching heat makes me so tired. However with the humidity and dampness, I'll have to be going full synthetic no-cotton with the clothing.

I agree, I know it's looks like it will be raining but I won't truly start to stress until I see the 7 day forecast. I am going to continue to have hope that the weather will be awesome! I'm ok with a random cool down afternoon shower but really I think all that matters is that everyone needs to have positive thoughts about Roo weather!

They usually fuck up the 7 day forecast too, so I'll wait to see how the weather is when I actually get there.
I would much rather it be sweltering and unbearably hot than have even a drop of rain. I can take heat, but rain and clouds dampen my mood like no other. I'm almost scared that I won't have fun if there's even a few hours of overcast sky. I hate rain.
Look on the bright side... A little rain kills the dust and brings out the mud people. I just hate it raining all night on my tent.
Yeah I always leave Sunday night after the last band. The rain was kind of shizzy though Sunday night. The Chattanoogan Hotel is the shiz. Quietest town I've ever seen.
I've stayed there- dont park at the meter though- Chattanooga has fierce parking enforcement.

A midafternoon shower is nice because it will cool you off, wash some sweat off, and provide some clouds during the hottest part of the day. A really late night/early morning drizzle (4am-6am) is also a really nice treat. Plus rain kills the dust, which has been terrible the past couple years. I say bring on the rain. In '09 it was pretty awesome so long as your tent and ez-up didn't blow away.

Any bit of rain helps with the dust. The dust is a physical being by Sunday.

I am glad I have lived 29 years in southern Alabama so whatever weather we are dealt it will be just a normal day to me. 100 degrees with 100% humidity or downpours with heavy wind is fine with me. Just keep the lightning away! Last years weather was heavenly!

I'm like smoothaseggs. I'm acclimated to the heat and humidity so it doesn't really bother me. Rain is good at the Roo. It's the best dust control and I despise dust much more than rain. Not much of a problem at all when viewing a show under one of the tents. I just realized that this year is going to be by far the most shows I have ever caught at What and Which. I'm hoping for some early morning showers and not much after that.
I imagine like usual it will manage to be hot, cold, muddy, dusty, sunny, and rainy. It takes more than weather to shut me down though.
Absolutely right. No point fretting over the variation...it's the extremes you should be ready for. A little rain is nice, a little hot sun is nice, a few clouds are nice...but what you don't want to come in unprepared for is a four-day deluge, 104-degree heat with 100% humidity, a sandstorm, etc.
Sandstorm? 10 dollar sandworm rides!Get your heady Arrakkean melange!

OK. Si I elves about 25mi north of the farm. I really am seeing from past experience that I predict maybe a %20-%30 chance of pop up storms, highs in the low to mid 90's with lows in the mid 60's and very humid! Of course weather prediction accuracy diminishes dramatically further than 3 days out (as I was told by my meteorology professor when I was still in college) I can absolutely predict one thing though....A Hell of a good Time!!!!
