I have 100's of reasons to kick myself for not manning up and going to Bonnaroo until 2010. However because my inaugural Bonnaroo could have been renamed BRUTALroo it comforts me to think I survived 2010 and it can't get much worse than that!

After the storms of '09, the heat of '10 and '11, and the beauty of '12 I do believe I'm ready for whatever. Though I'm sure I'll still complain when I wake up covered in sweat at the crack of dawn on Friday.
As of right now the long-range forecast jumped to low 90s, when it was showing 80s yesterday. I know we can't really put much stock into anything this far out, but I hope the forecast temp goes back down before we head out.
If accuweather is correct then this year just might take 2010's spot as the worst weather I've ever experienced at roo. Rain with a heat index in the 100s. Worst of both worlds.
Hoping for rain personally. Coming home with a sinus infection from all the dust was not fun.
I had the same thing, but I called it Bonnaflu.
Here in Louisville we've had a couple of flash storms, but otherwise it's been perfect. We took a boat out for Memorial Day and couldn't stop commenting about how beautiful it was. Yesterday my husband and I did a run through our camp set-up and the weather was in the 70's. I've found that Manchester and Louisville have pretty similar weather, so I would look for a decent 'Roo. Slight chance of short storms, maybe a little muggy, but otherwise wonderful. The likelihood of it going from upper 70's to 90's in about a week is low.

Gotta keep positive about this stuff, 'yo.
Yo, I live in Louisville too. Weather has been amazing so far aside from a bit of humidity in the evenings the past few days. If the weather where to be like this at 'roo I'd be very happy.

I'm just a weather dabbler, no meteorologist, but looking at the Climate Prediction Center forecast for the next 8-14 days, looks like slightly below average temperatures and above normal precipitation. Only time will tell as we get closer to Roo. I don't want to wish my life away but I sure do wish June 13th would get here!
2010 was our first roo and good lord did we almost die. missed out on so much that I wanted to see.
2010 was my first year also. I stayed in a hotel in Murfreesboro that year, and was really thankful I did. It was in the 60s when I left for TN, and was very unprepared for what I ended up in. Friday I ended up at Walmart for a couple hours mid-afternoon to escape the sun and the heat. Saturday I didn't bother getting to the farm until 6 pm because it was so bad out, and there were thunderstorms in the area on top of it. I nearly passed out during John Butler Trio on Sunday, and wound up leaving for Walmart again for a couple hours.

Roo 2010 had heat index levels between 105 and 110 every day. Obviously if it rains, it won't be that high - but it'll be incredibly unpleasant regardless.
But, Accuweather's long range forecasts are the equivalent of throwing darts and hoping it lands on something right. It's pretty lousy, and generally not favored by meteorologists I know. (I was a MTR major for two years in college, and know people who work for the National Weather Service or local TV stations in CT and NY.)
I live in Nashville and I've been keeping an eye on the weather as well. So far this year, it hasn't gotten too hot. Even our hottest day so far was completely manageable, unless you were physically working hard out in it. Unless it decides to become blazing hot like Roo 2011, I think the heat might not be a big problem this year. Sitting in the sun, listening to a show, and drinking some Roo sweet tea/lemonade I think will be quite enjoyable. Rain on the other hand is a different issue. It doesn't seem like we can go 3 days here without some rain. I'm just not hoping for any torrential downpours, which we have had. I would plan more for that right now until more finalized weather predictions start coming out later in the week. Just thought I would get my opinion in there. I'm hoping for sunny times and good vibes!

I can deal with rain on one of the festival days, but if there's rain when everyone's still setting up camp? Yech. Putting up tents while it's raining is pretttty miserable (especially if you're coming in late and the sun's making it's way sub-horizon)

we had to pack in pouring rain Monday. bleh! I kinda think it's easier to have rain when setting up than taking down, cause you can set up your canopy first and then try to take advantage of the dry area underneath to set up.
I had vowed not to buy any more supplies for the farm, but buckled yesterday and ordered four of the small 5" 02Cool fans (one for each person in our tent) just in case it is miserably hot and humid. They were only $7.99 each, and I spent $12 on 12 D-cell batteries. $44 to keep four people a little more comfortable seems worth it.
