I didn't mean to come off as insensitive to some people's financial situation. Of course ticket price can dictate where you sit. I guess I'm in the camp that this is a once in a lifetime opportunity to see three of the bands I love on the same stage and it's worth the extra price of the ticket.
My apologies all.
no need for an apology. I guess if I really loved all 3 bands i would be willing to spend more on it. I'm really just going for MMJ.
I've seen Dylan a bunch of times and probably wouldn't pay to see him again alone. I am a die hard Wilco fan and really enjoy MMJ so this just works for me. Dylan, Tweedy (most of the guys in Wilco), and Jim are all just amazing musicians and watching them play will be a fantastic way to spend a Sunday in July.

I'm not grabbing tickets cuz I expect to be at Newport Folk Fest but if I can't end up getting tickets to NFF I can always head to Jones Beach and find a ticket in the lot.

I got tickets for the Cincinnati show. Checked out at 10:01 and still only managed Section 800. I have a feeling scalpers are going to feast on these shows. And in other news, I am surely in the minority, but I like the modern day Dylan voice. There is something charming about his growl and near constant rearrangement of the classics. I would imagine after 50 years of playing the same old songs, you might get a little sick of it and want to change things up a little. I am seeing Bob this weekend and have been hearing good things about his recent performances. I have seen him so many times, though, I know what to expect. I do feel for fans who have not seen or heard the live performance and spend three minutes of every song trying to figure out what he is playing.
Will be ready and waiting with dcbee on 4/30 for tickets to the Merrweather show. Feeling good about it since it's the same day of the Jim James show at 9:30... I'm usually a pit sort of gal but thinking for this I'll try to score the best seats possible so I can get up, come back and still have the same view.
Got lawn tickets for Atlanta. Wanted to get seats but there were a bunch of us going so it just worked better for the group to all get lawn. Plus only $50 per.

Even the tunes from Tempest have been rearranged for this tour. The guy never stops changing.

I have heard that about the new songs. Can't wait to hear how he is playing them. [/quote]
I saw Dylan late last year. His voice sounded better than any of the previous time I have seen him and he was up dancing around and playing an actual piano rather than a keyboard. He didn't do any of the songs from Tempest. They added some wicked vocal echoes to Ballad of A Thin Man and Love Sick was excellent.
10th row stage right for West Palm Beach! Taking my father. Which meant no pit for us. All the rows ahead of ours were reserved for $200 a ticket VIP section that includes merchandise and the ENTIRE middle bottom section.
All in all I am really just happy to be going with him at all.
Got lawn tickets for the Cincinnati show this morning. Can't wait.

I'm trying to make Bridgeport on July 19 and Mansfield on July 20th happen. It'll be a crazy Bisco>Americanarama>Newport 3 weekend run, but worth it. I'm just looking for friends... hint hint...? @stratsg90 and I will be hitting up Bridgeport and I hope to get a friend to go who lives in Boston so we can crash there after. popsicle sarah said on FB that she is looking into Mansfield as well. So who else is?!?! itrainmonkeys, you could always take the Port Jeff ferry over to Bridgeport... just saying! Presale for those locations on the 30th.
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

The shows I could have gone to (CT and Jones Beach) both take place on times that I can't attend. For the CT show I've got my cousin's wedding and the shows by me take place during NFF. If I can't get NFF tickets I may just try for the jones beach show but that's up in the air right now.
I was able to talk my family into moving our vacation farther east so I can go to the Peoria, IL show. We are going to camp at Maquoketa Caves State Park in Iowa just north of Davenport for two nights. My dad wants to visit Antique Archeology which is located in Le Claire, IA. It is the shop featured on American Pickers. I just had to mention the shop and my dad was on board with my plan. He was able to talk my mom into going along with it. I'm pretty excited that my parents actually agreed to this! July is going to be an amazing month for me - The Avett Brothers and Old Crow Medicine Show at Red Rocks on July 6 and then Dylan, MMJ, Wilco and Robert Thompson on July 11. I can't wait!!

You can road trip and come watch it with me on top of a building right next to the stage.
