For which one? I have to double check to make sure my friend doesn't still want to go and is giving my ticket to someone else, but I think I have two availablee for Mansfield, MA?
Bridgeport! It's nice not having to go to Hartford or NYC to see good shows when I'm home. Sorry this doesn't help your case.
I'm headed to the Nashville show on Sunday, there are closer shows but a friend of mine really wanted to get to one of the Weir shows. The set lists are definitely getting me excited.
I really hope Dylan plays tonight's set list in Peoria, IL. It will be my 8th time seeing Dylan and I have yet to hear A Hard Rain's A-Gonna Fall. I'm really hoping for it. Either that or Maggie's Farm.

No worries We haven't even tried to get rid of them yet (and like I said, I am not even 100% sure that she isn't keeping them). I just figured that if you happened to need Mansfield... I'll still be at Bridgeport, though
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

I'm really glad Weir was the opener for the show I got to go to. I missed his short early opening set but I really felt like I was witnessing something really special with all the sit-ins he did. 'Dear Prudence' with MMJ blew me away.
Apparently tickets didn't sell so well. They were giving away tickets for the back sections of seats to anyone with lawn tickets. The free seat upgrade was unexpected and really nice.
And regarding Dylan, I'd heard so many scathing reviews that I was really expecting such a train wreck. Yeah you couldn't understand what he was saying, but I suspect even in his prime that may have been the case as well with his vocal style. His voice is surely gravel-ey but I think it was well suited for some of the bluesier tracks. And his band was really tight. Admittedly I still ended up leaving early to beat the traffic, but I think his criticisms have been too harsh. The guy is what... 72-75? Gotta respect him that he can still do what he does.
I was really surprised by how good Bob Weir was. Wilco and MMJ killed it and I left Dylan's set early after six songs. With a better setlist I might have stayed longer, but I wanted to beat the traffic. Fun night of music.

^Well, that is sweet music to my ears this morning. I wonder what kind of collabos they will have when Richard Thompson joins the tour and if there will be any on the dates that include Ryan Bingham.

The show last night was awesome. As I said on the last page, I won 4 free VIP box seats to the show, so the four of us had close seats with no one else in our row. Bob Weir's set at the beginning was very solid. Having never seeing form of the Dead, seeing a Grateful Dead member perform (especially when he's only on four dates of this tour) felt special. After that, we enjoyed FREE meatball sandwiches and seafood pasta in the VIP lounge, and finished right as MMJ was starting. It was my third time seeing MMJ (and after seeing a solo set and superjam, my fifth time seeing Jim James), and it was just as great as the others. It would have been nice if it was a bit darker during their set so the light show had a bigger effect, but the music was still great. It was also fun watching them play Wonderful as it's thundering and beginning to rain. Bringing out Weir for a cover of Dear Prudence was phenomenal, and by far the highlight of their set, especially since they hadn't done so in WPB.
Wilco was up next. Although I saw about 15 minutes of their set at Roo this year, I was still pretty unfamiliar with their style and their songs. The impression they gave me was that they're part acoustic-folk, part psychedelic-rock, and part straight-up jam. And honestly, it was my favorite set of the night. I was very happy that they did the only song of theirs I knew (I Am Trying to Break Your Heart), and even more stoked that they also brought out Weir for The Stone's Dead Flowers and especially how they did an actual Dead tune with Friend of the Devil. This set had me on my feet cheering at points, which is a great sign. I have a feeling that giving their material a listen will turn me into a bigger fan.
Finally, Bob Dylan was up. With only two torches on the stages' ends and minimal lighting, the show had a dark, yet intimate, vibe. His sound was decent, but does get dull pretty quickly, even if you enjoy his songs. Although I appreciate his rearrangements of his songs live, they don't always help the song, and considering you can hardly understand his singing anyways, you cant even tell it's the same song. We got to go into the pit near the end, which was a bit more enjoyable, as the members looked like animatronics from far away due to the slow nature of the music. We only stayed til the end to see if Dylan would have any sit-ins, but it never happened. We left after he finished with Ballad of a Thin Man, I picked up a poster, and headed home.
Overall, it was a great show that I was thrilled to win tickets to. I got to see two living legends (Dylan and Weir), my first MMJ set in a year and a half, and a great set from a band I missed most of at Roo (and need to familiarize myself with).
Bob Weir: 7/10 My Morning Jacket: 8/10 Wilco: 8.5/10 Bob Dylan: 5/10
From the MMJ forum show times Weir 5:30 MMJ 6:15 Wilco 7:55 Dylan 9:35
Have these times been the same at other shows so far?
I'm pretty sure it wasn't the EXACT same set times in Tampa, but I think it was fairly close. I think Weir ran late, mmj started maybe 6:25-6:30ish, and I hardly looked at the time for the rest of the show so I can't say for sure but I think think this still stands as a good rough estimate, give or take 15 min here or there
I can't believe I'm going to miss this tour. Fucking Mexico.
Anyway, I saw Dylan twice last year and it almost made me cry both times, and not in a good way. His band's good, but you couldn't even make up what the songs were most of the time, although that's partly the fault of the venues. Still, such a shame to miss my favorite 3 acts playing together. Good luck to anyone heading out to these shows.
The Weir/Wilco collaborations have me super excited and I was turned from a casual fan of Jim James to a Super-Fan at 'Roo. To top that off, Dylan is my favorite artist of all-time and I've never seen him live, so no matter the quality that is going to be the experience of a lifetime for me. Road trip to Nashville begins in about 7 hours (hitting up Third Man Records before the show)!
Americanarama was a lot of fun on Thursday in Tampa. We were lucky enough to get our lawn seats upgraded to the middle of the back section of seats which was great. Bob Weir was very good, My Morning Jacket was great, Wilco was awesome and Bob sounded like I expected and it was kind of sad. I'd say about 1/5 of the crowd left during Dylan's set. I'm glad I saw him just so I can say I did, but he's the only artist on the bill that I wouldn't pay to see again.

Went last night to Lakewood with the fam.
We missed Bob Weir's solo set, but caught the rest. MMJ was fantastic as usual, and seeing them do I Know You Rider with Bob Weir was fun to watch. Never seen them cover the Dead until now! Wilco's first half was meh, but after they did Dark Star > California Stars > Dark Star, their set came alive for me and I really enjoyed the rest of it.
I saw Dylan at my 1st Bonnaroo in '04 and wasn't impressed. I appreciated the importance of seeing a legend onstage, but I was 18 years old & antsy so I went off to another show after a few songs. Last night he was admittedly not the best singer, but he put on an enjoyable show. His band's really good, and he's still a good harmonica player. My wife walked away impressed; my mom disliked the Dylan show, but she's not really much of a fan of him to begin with.
