So when I see a band live, and they say thank you Cleveland, you really rocked hard, we thought Cincinatti rocked hard last night but you rocked way harder, they're not just telling me what I want to hear?

THEY TRIED 2 GIVE ME A TIME SLOT WERE IT WAS STILL LIGHT OUTSIDE ... I HAVE A FUCKING LIGHT SHOW DUMB ASS, IT'S NOT CALLED GLOW IN THE DARK FOR NO REASON SQUID BRAINS! MY PEOPLE WORKED OUT A COMPROMISED STAGE PLOT AND A 3AM TIME SLOT AND I AGREED. FAST FOWARD TO THE DAY OF THE SHOW. MY PRODUCTION MANAGER TRIED TO LOAD IN FOR 24 HOURS BEFORE I WENT ON STAGE BUT THE FESTIVAL WOULDN'T ALLOW US TO DO ANYTHING UNTILL PEARL JAM LEFT THE STAGE. PEARL JAM ENDED ONE HOUR LATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEN I GOT 2 "THROUGH THE WIRE" I STEPPED ON THE FRONT PART OF MY STAGE AND THERE WAS SO MUCH LIQUID ON THE STAGE I COULDN'T MOVE WITHOUT SLIPPING. I HAD TO ADJUST MY WHOLE PERFORMANCE STYLE BECAUSE OF IT. A FEW MORE SONGS IN AND THE SONG WAS ON IT'S WAY UP.. I CUT A FEW SONGS FROM THE SET BECAUSE I WANTED PEOPLE 2 EXPERIENCE STRONGER WHILE THERE WAS STILL SOME DARKNESS TO PERFORM IT IN. I'VE STRUGGLED WITH STRONGER FROM IT'S CONCEPTION. REMEMBER LAST SUMMER WHEN I CANCELED SOME TV APPEARANCES. IT WAS BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO PERFORM STRONGER IN THE DAYTIME. ANYONE WHO CAME TO THE GLOW TOUR CAN UNDERSTAND WHY I WANTED PEOPLE TO SEE IT PROPERLY. IT BROKE MY HEART THAT I COULDN'T GIVE THESE FANS STRONGER IN IT'S GREATEST FORM... BY THE TIME I GOT TO STRONGER IT WAS DAYTIME AND IT BROKE MY HEART. I'M SORRY TO EVERYONE THAT I DIDN'T HAVE THE ABILITY 2 GIVE THE PERFORMANCE I WANTED TO. I'M SORRY... Hey, Simple Jack, maybe the crowd went nuts because they were playing "Hey Ya," a song everyone knows, compared to "Tightrope," a song by Monae that the vast majority of music listeners probably aren't very familiar with. Or it might have had to do with it being "why the fuck is she out there?" compared to "Heyyyyyyy Yaaaaaaa!!!!" Or she's a homer. Or she's comparing a set where the band started 30 minutes late and kept having technical difficulties to a set where they had already figured it out. Monae wasn't at their Weekend 2 set which by most (all) accounts was a much smoother show.
And this brings us back to asking....why the fuck should we care? At all? Hey, I went to Outkast Weekend 1, it was awesome. I'd do it again, right now, and Janelle sh*t talking a crowd that wasn't there to see her in the least means diddly dickfarts to me. I had fun. The thousands of people I spoke to on line waiting for the shuttle had fun. Outkast had fun. Apparently everyone had fun except for Janelle Monae during her brief, half-song appearance on stage while most of the crowd asked who the hell she was.
Again, I like her a lot, but this is nothing to be taken seriously.

No, this isn't the same situation. There was previous discussion here about how the Coachella shows were lacking something and that the crowd seemed dead. I watched both Coachella shows, Outkast never gave any props at all to that crowd. This show they did several times. Then Janelle said what she said and that made it obvious to me that they had issues with that crowd. Of course playing at home had a lot to do with it. Counterpoint probably should have been their first show back, but I'm glad they had Coachella as a warm up.

Newsflash, she was there for the entire shows, not just the songs she was on stage for. She came out of the crowd to dance during Hey Ya. She was also there in the front row the 2nd weekend show. She's a fan just like us. I don't understand why anyone is trying to discredit what she said? Especially people that it doesn't even apply to. You were there and I'm sure you got into the show, but you know that wasn't true of all of the crowd.
Also everything didn't go smoothly. They had problems with the cube again that delayed the show 30 min, after it had already been pushed back an hr due to the weather.
