I usually book in Palm Springs. But anywhere along the shuttle routes would be ideal. I hear the Tennis Gardens stop has lots of parking, if you drive there and then shuttle in each day. Personally I like to walk to the shuttle stop from my hotel, so I book closeby to avoid driving all weekend.
I am not sure the exact location of all the shuttle stops (and unfortunately it is a bit hard to find) but the Palm Springs stop is at the Desert Fashion Plaza on Palm Canyon Drive.

Car camping IS really nice, but I think Coachella is perfect for hoteling since the shows end somewhat early. It leaves you plenty of time for shuttle rides and adequate rest. A shower and A/C and real food every morning is pretty rejuvenating. Was typically in the hotel room from 2~11am. Oh yeah, and pools!
The late nights at Bonnaroo make staying in a hotel unappealing to me, since I'd only wind up being in my room for maybe 5 hours in the morning before heading back to the farm.
Car camping is so nice at Coachella, I can't imagine staying in a hotel. I feel like I'd be more inclined to stay in a hotel at Bonnaroo, where there's serious incentive in avoiding the dust, matted long grass/hay, and 95% humidity and 90 degrees at 8 a.m..

Haha, did you miss the sandstorm?
Our tent was soooooooo full of sand by the end of the weekend. I had to sleep in the car on Sunday.
If I remember correctly I think this guy did some van rental type thing.

My tent on Monday morning after Coachella was worse than my tent has ever been at Bonnaroo. And the Sandstorm on Sunday night while the festival was still going on put Bonnaroo's 2011 dust storm to shame.

06 or 07 Roo. You want dust .. We were in Winslow Az for your storm but you killed our grass wk2 .... grrr . Come in a couple of weeks to the hills and streams of the Ozarks for Waka. No complaints there ...... cr****
I am in for Weekend 2. (As long as they still offer layaway!)
Why do you hate grass so much?
I'll trade grass for: - The ability to watch the webcast and use it as a conflict buster. (Because there will be unbearable conflicts) - More fine-tuned logistics. (Let them make the logistical mistakes Wk1 and learn from their errors) - Smaller crowds (I'm aware this depends on the lineup) - More time to analyze the schedule. - No irrational "erhmegerd it's Wk1 or nothing. I don't wan't no festival sloppy seconds!" attitudes.

Coachella 2014 will consist of two 4-day festivals. My belief is that the festivals will occur consecutivelt over 8 days. Its possible it will continue to be two weekends, although i think the 2013 lineup indicates a difficulty in getting acts to hang around mid-week. Either way, we'll find out in about 38 hours.
Look at the dates on Coachella.com. They are still noted as being the 2013 dates, however an extra day was added to the end, now reading 4/12-15 and 4/19-22.
Something in the programming was updated prematurely. Same thing happened with the name for the Yuma tent. It leaked on the Schedule page a week or so early.
I don't think they will increase prices after the secondary market tanked before the festival this year. They have them priced correctly.

Whoa, good catch with those dates. My mind is blown.
Also, the secondary market this year tanked because their lineup just didn't create the demand. The right headliners will warrant the price increase. But for the sake of our pocketbooks, I hope you're right.
