1. Paul McCartney- Bonnaroo 2013 I've been a Beatles and Wings fan since I was a little kid, he played all of my favorites, and 80,000 people singing Hey Jude just put it over the top. 2. Eric Clapton and Roger Daltrey- Bank Atlantic Center 2009. I was fifteen and was never really into Clapton, but when He played Layla I was blown away. Daltrey did a lot of stuff from Tommy which was amazing. 3. Red Hot Chili Peppers- Bank Atlantic Center 2012. Just a great high energy performance and an amazing setlist. 4. Bob Dylan, Wilco, MMJ, and Bob Weir Cruzan amphitheater 2013. I had just really got into Wilco a few days earlier and they were just great. Dylan and MMJ were good too. 5. Portugal, The Man Bonnaroo 2013 Every song was great, and when they played Dayman from it's Always Sunny I almost lost it. 6. Kiss 2008 their music may not be the best, but they put on a damn good show 7. Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers Bonnaroo 2013 having a mother that lived in Gainesville I heard a lot of Tom Petty growing up, hearing the songs live were awesome, lots of nostalgia 8. The Hives- 2006 seeing one of the major garage rock revivalist was pretty sweet 9. Muse- Bank Atlantic Center 2013 would be higher if they played some of my favorites, but nonetheless it was a great show 10. Twenty One Pilots- Bonnaroo 2013 first show I saw at the best weekend I've ever has
10. John Mayer 8-20-2013 (day of record release, my birthday, and at Bethel Woods (where Woodstock was held). He was definitely inspired by the venue. Phillip Phillips sucks though)
9. Made in America 2012 (Jigga, Pearl Jam, Pearl Jam w/ Jigga!, 2 Gary Clark Jr. sets, D'Angelo, etc)
8. Michael Franti & Spearhead w/ Grace Potter 2011 (venue was a small park with a floating gazebo stage. Grace jumped in the pond for "Nothing But The Water")
7. Beach Boys 1994-1998 (I can't distinguish between the 4 shows I saw but they were my first concert experiences)
6. John Mayer & Ben Folds 2007 (Continuum had just come out and it was the first time I saw him where he just played his ass off the whole show)
5. Global Citizen 2012- Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters (last show before hiatus), Black Keys, Band of Horses
4. Rush 2012 (Time Machine Tour, played "Moving Pictures" all the way through for their 2nd set)
3. Allman Brothers Band & Santana 2012 (Warren, Derek, and Carlos on the same stage?!?!)
2. Black Sabbath & Iron Maiden 2005 (walked away with Dave Murray's wristband after a backstage encounter)
1. Bonnaroo 2008 (my first roo. If you said this cant count as one show, my whole list might come from this year. I can't even imagine if ABB had actually played)
N SYNC, Cleveland, 1998- it was my very first concert so I think it deserves a spot.
They are probably #11 on my list. I had backstage access when they came through Hartford on this tour. I was 8 and the most memorable part of this show was being offered unspeakable things from teenage girls to go backstage. I was terrified.
8. Michael Franti & Spearhead w/ Grace Potter 2011 (venue was a small park with a floating gazebo stage. Grace jumped in the pond for "Nothing But The Water")
IMHO, Grace Potter is the sexiest woman in music. I am very jealous you got to witness such a thing.

I've been looking at this thread for a long time but just couldn't get my head around the broad spectrum of concert experiences it's been my privilege to have. I still don't feel I can do any justice in ranking them so I'll give a chronological ordering instead and also have to toss in 10 honorable mentions as well.
Bush/Veruca Salt - 05/02/97 - Freedom Hall - Louisville, KY Since the subject is live music experiences in MY life it's only right to begin with my first concert ever. Tickets were present for 16th birthday and 350+ shows later it obviously had an impact.
Nine Inch Nails - 4/20/00 - Conseco Fieldhouse - Indianapolis, IN Mind-blowing performance with incredible lighting/effects too. I was in the pit and made it up to the railing early on which I clung to for the rest of the show. I don't know that I've still ever left a show so exhausted and satisfied.
Prince - 4/12/04 - Conseco Fieldhouse - Indianapolis, IN Even from up in the upper arena seating this show managed to amaze(!), as much for its big powerful performances as well as for its ability to connect and be intimate. The subsequent rarity has also only enhanced it's reputation in my memory.
Vote For Change Tour (Bruce Springsteen, REM, John Fogerty, Bright Eyes) - 10/02/04 - Gund Arena - Cleveland, OH I had been awake in preparation for over 24 hours before the show even began but it was all worth it when I was lucky enough to get a pit bracelet and the fatigue was forgotten once things got underway. My first time seeing any of these acts and all were unforgettable.
Radiohead - 6/17/06 - Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival - Manchester, TN What can I say on here that hasn't already been stated about this concert. I will add that it was my first Bonnaroo (I haven't missed any since) and Radiohead was the group that got me there. Thanks guys!
The Rolling Stones - 9/29/06 - Churchill Downs - Louisville, KY Churchill Downs really isn't a good place to have a concert, it was rainy, and my seat was about twice as far away from the stage as when I saw them play indoors the year before but this show was big enough and good enough to make it work and even trump that other one as good as it was too.
Arcade Fire/LCD Soundsystem - 10/03/07 - Waterfront Park - Louisville, KY I was destroyed when I discovered Arcade Fire's Funeral to learn that they had played a small club show 1 1/2 hours away before I knew about them. This double bill two years later did a lot to make up for it especially since I was into LCD Soundsystem by this time as well.
Paul McCartney - 4/17/09 - Coachella Music Festival - Indio, CA The draw to see this show was large enough to board a plane and it was totally worth it. I've surprisingly had the chance and pleasure to see him 3 more times since then (and they've all been every bit as good) but this one remains special for being my first and also as the show that took me to Coachella.
U2 - 7/02/11 - Vanderbilt Stadium - Nashville, TN Simply awe-inspiring. The staging for the U2360 tour as huge and impressive as it is, is honestly really overdone. However, the scope and power of their live performance really shrinks it down to size and even makes it almost unnoticeable.
Roger Waters - 6/11/12 - Bankers Life Fieldhouse - Indianapolis, IN Whereas the staging for U2 was quite frivolous, the presentation for The Wall while no less grandiose was in every way more awesome and effective. Absolutely tremendous concert!
Honorable mentions: Rage Against the Machine - Nashville, 12/08/99 The White Stripes - Indianapolis, 7/09/02 The Strokes - Chicago, 4/23/04 Pixies - Indianapolis, 6/07/05 Stevie Wonder - Nashville, 12/01/07 David Byrne - Louisville, 10/21/08 Pearl Jam - Bonnaroo 6/14/08 Patti Smith - New Orleans, 4/24/10 The National - Bonnaroo, 6/11/10 Bjork - Bonnaroo, 6/15/13

Nice list. We were at this show together. It was bananas.
Nice list. We were at this show together. It was bananas.
I know it was late in the year and outdoors but still couldn't get over how few people were there! Tickets weren't even that expensive as I recall. It will certainly be interesting to see how well attended their tour opening show in March is.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.
Since this thread was just bumped, I'll add my list.
1. Dispatch - 06/24/2011 - TD Garden - Boston, MA I discovered them too late to see them in their original run, but that first homecoming show of their reunion tour was monstrous and I was with some great friends. The brotherhood in that entire arena when we were all singing along to "The General" or "Elias" was something I'll never forget
2. Paul McCartney - 07/09/2013 - Fenway Park - Boston, MA I knew it was going to be great when I felt the energy of the 30,000+ people waiting to enter Fenway. Then song after song the man proved why the Beatles (and Wings) deserve their reputation. from "Eight Days a Week" to the Abbey Road Medley it was just unbelievable.
3. Mumford & Sons - 08/04/2012 - Eastern Promenade - Portland, ME This one has as much to do with the environment as it does with the music. The venue was absolutely gorgeous. beautiful houses that were all decorated to welcome Mumford & Sons, the stunning Maine coast with sailboats and small islands decorating the ocean. The whole day was gorgeous and filled with amazing music from St. Vincent, Dawes, Haim, and a lot of others. But when Mumford & Sons hit the stage it became this kind of spiritual gathering, and I have no shame in how loud I sang along to those songs.
4. Jack White - 09/28/2012 - Agganis Arena - Boston, MA My modern day Paul McCartney. Each song he played I loved, whether it was from his solo album or any of his numerous bands. I don't know how much more I can say other than that it was an incredible performance from probably my favorite musician of the 21st century
5. Father John Misty solo - 10/19/2013 - Music Hall of Williamsburg - Brooklyn, NY This one is hard for me to explain. Maybe it's because I had just gone through CMJ week with a ton of intense performances from amazing bands, that this was the most perfect come down from a high I could have asked for. Whatever it was, something about this show just hit me, and I haven't been able to let it go. If this man ever does another solo tour, I encourage you to all go see it. While so much of his material has an edge of comedy (the opener for this show was a comedian) there was something intensely touching to me in the stripped down setting and the pure power of the man's voice.
6. Arcade Fire - 10/18/2013 - 299 Meserole - Brooklyn, NY This was the day before that Father John Misty show. It was an insane week. But this was one of those shows that was just so cool to be a part of. While I, like many others, wish the setlist had been longer, the dance party that followed more than made up for it. It was a crazy night filled with facepaint, blacklights, paper mache masks, and whole ton of dancing. Couple that with some amazing music performed by one of today's best live acts and you have an incredible show.
7. Roger Waters The Wall - 10/01/2010 - TD Garden - Boston, MA Holy Shit.
8. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals - 08/20/2011 - Bank of America Pavilion - Boston, MA The interplay between the musicians in this group is just incredible and I don't think any of their studio efforts do them nearly enough justice. Each person plays masterfully both individually and as a group and then there's Grace's voice which is just remarkable
9. Of Monsters and Men - 11/19/2012 - Orpheum Theater - Boston, MA These guys are one of the only bands that has ever unexpectedly blown me away. That was the first time I saw them which was at the State Theatre in Portland, ME that past summer. This show, though, made that show seem like nothing. There was such an intense and uplifting feeling that accompanied their performance. If you've only seen them at a festival, the outdoor venue does not do them justice. The acoustics of a space like the Orpheum combined with their music is a stunningly gorgeous match.
10. The Who - 10/24/2008 -TD Garden - Boston, MA This was the first show I went to for an artist who I was a really big fan of. I was in middle school at this point and had gotten really into classic rock, and the Who were at the top of my list. Tommy and Who's Next were both mind-blowing for me and getting to see these guys live was a major treat. I hear people talk bad about their performances now, but to me, then, they were incredible. Even if I never got to see them with Entwistle or especially Keith Moon.
1. Radiohead Bonnaroo 2006: What an incredible show, I have never seen a crowd eat up new material like that. I still believe this is Radiohead longest setlist to date.
2. NIN Webster Hall 2009: This was part of the wave goodbye tour and they stared the show off by playing the downward spiral in its entirety then went on to play most of broken.
3. Foo Fighters 930 club 2006: This show was announced 5 days before the show and I was lucky enough to get a ticket. Started the show with playing all the hits for the first 90 minutes. After that Dave Grohl started taking request and started telling stories about growing up in the area. The last 30 minutes he walked out on top the bar and demanded the bar tender pour shots of jager directly into his mouth while perform a guitar solo.
4. LCD Soundsystem Terminal 5 2011: I tried to get tickets to the final LCD show but all the tickets sold out in seconds. Thankfully LCD announced 4 shows before the MSG gig. I don't think I have danced harder for 3 hours than I did that night. Pure bliss
5. Portugal the. Man Bonnaroo 2011: I was already in love with this band and was the act I was most excited to see that weekend. I was up front for the afternoon show which was great, but around 2AM that next morning a marching band marched out towards the comedy tent and before I knew it I was witnessing PTM playing on a party float shaped as Mr.T.
6. Refused Coachella 2012: I had seen just about every reunion act that had a major impact on my childhood up to this point, so when At The Drive-IN and Refused announced they would be coming back I jumped around like a 16 year old. At the Drive-In put on a really weak performance but Refused was easily the best reunion act I have ever seen or heard. This band was like opening a bottle of scotch that had aged perfectly everything could not have been more perfect not to mention it was 4/20.
7. Paul McCartney Bonnaroo 2013: I am going to be honest when I say most people in my camp site last year weren't even that excited for this show. I had seen him perform his solo material on TV and never got into it but I was pleasantly surprised when the set was a huge chunk of Beatles/Wings songs.
8. Rage Against The Machine Coachella 2007: The energy for this show was unreal. The entire weekend people were talking about how people worried about riots getting started, granted no riot happened but people did light trash fires all while RAGE delivered an amazing reunion set.
9. The Prodigy 930 club 2009: I have lived in DC most of my life and one of the things that has bothered me over the years is how DC crowds always look bored. The Prodigy had just finished headlining Ultra and played a few club shows before they concluded the tour in America. Holy Fucking Shit I have never seen the 930 club dance that way ever, The band was hyping the crowd to the point where the entire venue was jumping to the beats. Bravo
10. Muse Vegoose 2007: I had never been a big Muse fan but I had a few friends who thought they were the second coming of christ. I was able to convince a few friends to go to Vegas so I could get another chance to see RAGE and they could see Muse. We went up front for Muse because RAGE was going to play after them and man these guys kicked serious ass. It was really obvious they were trying to impress the crowd because Tom Morello was someone that inspired them as band and was standing on the side of the stage watching them.
I saw the Time Machine Rush tour in Detroit with my dad. After 3 Bonnaroo's still one of my top 3 concerts

1. Radiohead Tinley Park, Illinois 2012 - Had lawn seats, but when we got there some random people gave us tickets to a private box! So magical. 2. Paul McCartney Wrigley Field Chicago - Was on my birthday, and was just fantastic. He played a good three hours. 3. Arcade Fire/ The National at UIC Pavillion - Easter 2011, I went alone but the show was just amazing. 4. My Morning Jacket/Wilco/Bob Dylan in Tampa, Florida. Enough Said. 5. LCD Soundsystem Aragon Ballroom Chicago. Was one of the last shows before the farewell show, such a good time. I danced so much. 6. Nine Inch Nails Lollapalooza 2008 Wow. So much Energy. 7. Radiohead Lollapalooza 2008. This would be further up the list but I had such a crap spot for the show. 8. Jack White Lollapalooza 2012 Such a good show, can't wait to see him again. 9. Bright Eyes at Chicago Theater (I think it was 2007) I'm a huge Conor Oberst fan and this was such a great show. 10. Little Dragon at Lollapalooza 2012. This band puts on such a good show, if you've never seen them live make sure to check them out this year at Bonnaroo.
I've been going to shows since 1972 so most of my top ten occurred in the 70's. 1, Ike and Tina Turner Tampa Fla 72 ,2, 480 Greatful Dead shows ,3, AC-DC 50 shows, 4, Frank Zappa 20 shows, 5, Further festival 20 shows,6, Muddy Waters Chicago 79, 7, Bonnaroo 04,08,2011, 8, Sexton pistols Dallas tx,9, Boston Jacksonville Fla, 10, Queen Montreal Canada.
^^ Justdome has seem some things, mannnnnnnnnn! Wow that is a lot of Jerry. 20 Zappa shows is f'n awesome though. Would give anything to have seen him once.
1. Grandmothers of Invention- Birmingham '12 All time favorite show. I left feeling like I saw Frank Zappa play. I hit a time vortex or something, shit was nuts.
2. of Montreal - Alabama Music Box - Dec '11 (somewhere around then) My favorite band in one of my favorite venues ever. Plus they played "No Conclusion" which I never thought I would hear live. Punk rock crowd instead of weakdick'd hipster youngins.
3. Butthole Surfers- Free show @ One Eyed Jacks Voodoo/Halloween weekend 2008 No punk show I'll see in my lifetime will ever top this.
4. Dweezil Zappa Plays Zappa- First Tour Dec '06- NOLA House of Rules My first Zappa related show. Had no idea what to expect. Left the show having a hard time putting sentences together. Face=stolen
5. Furthur- Red Rocks '13 Sunday show (Buncha contenders for fav Dead related show) Branford Marsalis sit in for entire epic second set which was all segues no breaks.
6. Widespread Panic- Mexico Run (I liked this more than Dominican Republic run, both were epic.)
7. The Mars Volta - Orpheum Theater NOLA Jazzfest '05- First chance I had to see my favorite band at the time. Also my first "everyone is on droogs" show. That show went unbelievably hard.
8. Bjork - Front row Bonnaroo '13 face meltttttted off, only time up close at main stage Roo
9. Nine Inch Nails/ A Perfect Circle- Spring 2000- NOLA Arena- My first time seeing my first favorite band. My 16 year old self busted many nuts at this one.
10- Siouxsie & The Banshees / Creatures- Spring 2004- House of Rules NOLA- One of my all time favorite artists, intimate venue, show was unreal.
Runners up: (really there are too many to list) The Cure- Voodoo '13 (My teenage gothkid self was shedding tears throughout this one)
Rancid- Warped Tour 2000- Was really into them when I got turned onto punk rock in the late 90's so seeing them was a really big deal for me.
Dr. John Tribute- Nola Jazzfest '14- Insane show. Buy the DVD when it comes out.
Gregg Allman Tribute- ATL Jan '14- Not as awesome as the Dr. John tribute, but still unreal. DVD exists, def recommend checking it out.
Tom Waits- Saenger Theater, Mobile 2008- This should be in my top ten, but it's filled with artists that are more important to me. Show was a once in a lifetime treat that I still can't believe happened.
Roky Erickson- One Eyed Jacks NOLA 2009 or 2010- Had interdimensional moments at this one. The literal insanity of a lot of the people there was causing shared hallucinations, never experienced anything quite like this.
Mastodon/Brian Posehn- 40 Watt Athens GA Oct 2008 - My fav metal band and my fav comedian at the time in the same show. Out of control time with great friends! Had an aweomse time in Athens for the first time.
Iron Maiden/Alice Cooper- Lakewood, ATL Summer '12- Couldn't belive how good this show was.
The clear winner of this thread is "canexplain" who says they saw f'n Hendrix on NYE '69 and saw The Beatles at RED ROCKS '64. You gotta be kidding me.
"Bennyboy420" from other messageboards like Jazzfest and PhantasyTour is the only other person I've seen claim shows that ridiculous. *bows to canexplain*
Reading through the thread I'm embarassed about some honorable mentions I forgot in my list....

Even though I'm in my 40s, I started to go regularly to live shows only in the last few years.
10. Passion Pit - Festival d'été de Québec 2010 - I wasn't expecting much of this little band but here they are, with bombastic beats, making 5,000 people dance like there's no tomorrow. It was pure discovery for me. GOLD! 9. Paul McCartney - Plains of Abraham (Quebec City) - 2008 - We were over 200,000 people all over the place (in front, behind, on the sides, there were even giant screens to watch the concert on the south shore of the St. Lawrence!). It was everything you've seen last year on the Farm. And then some. 8. Muse - Colisée Pepsi (Quebec City) - 2013 - Their last album, I didn't really like, but they are something to see and hear live. Mind blown. 7. Arcade Fire - Métropolis de Montréal - September 2012 - The next night, they gave an historic free concert at Place des festivals in front of over 100,000 people. But that night, we were 2,500 of AF's biggest fans welcoming their favourite ones home. It felt like a mass sometimes. That was great. 6. Grouplove - Bonnaroo 2012 - No, they are not the best musicians in the world. No, they don't even sing very well. But Grouplove as a band has so much energy and the crowd was so pumped for that show that you couldn't have not absolutely loved it. 5. Radiohead - Bonnaroo 2012 - I lost my friends a few hours before and I was all by myself for that stellar show. It was a touching musical experience for me because of the history between this band and me. 4. Roger Waters - The Wall on the Plains of Abraham 2012 - They built the longest wall of all the North American tour. The show itself was absolutely fantastic. Filled with visuals. Went with my mother and her husband. They had the time of their lives. I had lots of fun too. 3. Patrick Watson - Festival d'été de Québec 2012 - Oh, the wonderful Parc de la francophonie. One of the nicest venues for shows like this one. The openers were great. The place was jam-packed (over 5,000 people), but nobody cared. Watson's music was superb. Tears of joy were had. Saw the same show indoors a few months later. It was good, but not as good as that one. 2. Radiohead - Parc Jean-Drapeau (Montreal) - Aug. 5, 2001. This one was special. Two days before, I was at the hospital for my last big chemo treatment. I still remember when we heard the first notes from "Just". It was crazy. Two weeks later, I was back at my job, happier than ever. 1. Pink Floyd - Montreal Olympic Stadium - May 11, 1988. This was the Delicate Sound of Thunder tour. I was 14. My 2 friends and I took the bus to Montreal. I don't remember every detail of the last show I've attended 2 weeks ago, but every minute of this one is in my memory.
10. Roky Erickson & The Explosives following a screening of You're Gonna Miss Me @ The Granada Theater; Dallas, TX; 2007: It was great to see that Roky can still put on an amazing show after the screening of this great documentary. Also seeing this on his 60th birthday was an extra nice touch. 09. Neutral Milk Hotel & Elf Power; The Majestic Theater; Dallas, TX; 2014: The Airplane Over the Sea is one of m favorite albums and I never thought I would see NMH play live. The show was a every bit as magical that I thought it would be. 08. Slayer, Megadeth & Anthrax; Superpages.com Center; Dallas, TX; 2010: This was my first time to see the mighty Slayer play live and the played my favorite album, Seasons in the Abyss, in it's entirety. Great show with a lot of energy. It's also memorable for a dark reason since this was the last show that Jeff Hanneman played in Dallas. 07. June of 44 with a couple of local bands opening; The Engine Room; Fort Worh, TX; 1995: This was my introduction to math rock and it blew me away. Great improvisation by the band and Doug Scharin is a blast to watch play live. 06. Superchunk, Rocket From the Crypt & The Grifters; Trees; Dallas, TX; 1993: I was really excited to see this show and Superchunk was great that night but there is another reason why this show was memorable. That was because of a band that was unknown to be at the time, Rocket From the Crypt. Damn, did they put on a great show with lots of energy. 05. Mr Quintron & Miss Pussycat with Electric Freestyle Fantasy; The Good/Bad Art Collective: Denton, TX; 1998: An energetic and intimate show. So much quacking fun and the most I have danced at a show. Also loved the oddball puppet show by Miss Pussycat that kicked it all off. 04. The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Jawbox, Poster Children & Baboon; Trees; Dallas, TX; 1994: Just a great lineup from top to bottom. Jawbox was brilliant but damn the JSBX was out of their minds that night with all their energy. Just quacking amazing. 03. Slayer, Gojira & 4arm; Southside Music Hall; Dallas, TX, 2013: Memorable show for many reason. This was their first tour after the death of Jeff Hanneman and Slayer played only songs from Show No Mercy to Seasons in the Abyss. Great set list. A friend of mine took his son with us and was his big concert. And somehow another friend on mine lost his shoes in the mosh pit. 02. Uncle Tupelo & Adams Farm; Trees; Dallas, TX; 1993: This was the infamous Anodyne tour where Jeff and Jay were talking very little to each other but that didn't get in the way of my enjoyment. I have been looking forward to seeing them since right before March 16–20, 1992 came out. I'm lucky that I got to see them because I doubt they will ever do a reunion show. 01. The Geraldine Fibbers & The Eyeliners; The Galaxy Club; Dallas, TX; 1997: Damn the show was beyond amazing. Nels Cline blew me away that night and Carla Bozulich has such an amazing voice.
Honorable Mention (probably leaving some off this list that deserve to be here but fuck it): Flaming Lips, Melvins, Boris, Bedhead, Spiritualized, Carla Bozulich, Son Volt, Wilco, Centro-matic, The Wrens, Radiohead, Pavement, The Black Heart Procession, Mike Watt, The Ramones, Les Savy Fav, Low, Queens of the Stone Age, ...And You Will Know us By the Trail of Dead, Yo La Tengo, Brian Wilson, Mastodon, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, The Beasite Boys, Cedell Davis, REM, Tricky, Ice T, Sonic Youth, Polvo, Unwound, Ministry, Jane's Addiction, Metallica, Tortoise, Archers of Loaf, Built to Spill, Guided by Voices, Sleep, Supersuckers, Modest Mouse, Drums & Tuba, Hammerhead, The Jayhawks, The Cows, The Gourds, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Slobberbone, Butthole Surfers & Toadies

10: AFI @ Denver University 2005 .. A MASSIVE winter storm rocked Colorado AFI show went on but anyone not within walking distance couldn't come and security didn't show up. Everyone jumped the barriers and we all got to rage like 3 feet from them 9: Head for the Hills @ Mishawaka 2012 - Went to high school with these guys. Got backstage passes, got a free keg of a specially made beer just for the show, raged till 2am then camped just down the road on the Mishawaka river... MAGIC 8: Of Monsters and Men / Vampire Weekend @ Red Rocks 2013 - OMAM going into Vampire right after Modern Vampires dropped was amazing. Front row center for this sucker and we brought in the farm to the show. Was just killer. 7: Tom Petty in the Rain @ Roo 2013 - Talk about closing Roo. 6: Ben Howard @ Boulder Theater 2012 - I will never forget his voice. Burned into my skull. The audience was just KILLER. Could hear a cricket when he was dropping a real quiet melody but then exploded when chanting "Keep your head up" or the like. 5: 21 Pilots rail 2013 Roo - Was our first Roo and our first real show at Roo. We knew we liked them gong in and grinded thru Step Kids to be way up in it which was a rough ride. They came out with more energy and fire then I can describe. Everyone remembers their first Roo how everything is so crazy, eye opening, lost in space and magic... Well leaving this show drenched in sweat was such a good start to 2013. 4: Zac Brown Band triple headline Red Rocks 2013 but specifically the Friday night show although 2011 was killer too.. The encore they dressed in skeletons, hit the black lights and dropped into Comfortably Numb... 3 different setlists for each night. ... But Comfortably Numb was WOW 3: Deep Purple w/ Steve Morse Red Rocks ~1994 - My Dad took me. We started WAY up top with his buddy. Both huge hippies with hair down to their butts. They are partying and I've been to shows before but not like this. Then Deep Purple takes the stage and 2 songs in my Dad says, "Now we go".. And I'm like, "Go!?!" Next thing I know he pulls my hand down to second row walks up to another chill looking couple and says "My son has never experiences anything like this mind if we rock next to you?" (Talk about a nice play amirite?!) Anyway security lets me down to the floor row because I'm so young. Steve Morse after the show comes up and gives me a guitar pick personally. Was just amazing. 2: Sir McCartney Roo 2013 - If you were there you know. 1: Skrillex back to back front row center @ Red Rocks 2014 - Went with my sister. Normally electronic music is not my thing, but I felt like I was connected to Skrillex's brain for both these shows. The energy at Red Rocks was unbelievable and I go to a good 10 shows a year there. The weather was absolutely perfect.. I have never gotten so close to space before. First time in my life i literally woke up with blisters from dancing so hard.. And barefoot non-the-less.
I think my music taste has just grown or maybe I'm just getting a helluva lot better at the game we call live music because a lot of my best experiences have come in the last few years while I have been going to shows for over 20. Used to do stupid things like Tool @ Pepsi Center, Tim McGraw at an arena.. Unless Pink Floyd or Zeppelin come back together please never invite me to an arena show. I'd include Daft Punk in this list but they won't ever do that to me. .. Flaming Lips from Roo this year is like right on the edge of this list. Every show above I was damn near front row center for and I think I just LOVE that energy. Especially at Red Rocks.

I was lucky enough to experience these with family or close friends.
10.) The Joy Formidable Secret show: The Mod Club Toronto 2012? – My TJF buddy and I went to Toronto to see them open for The Gaslight Anthem. While in I answered trivia about Them Crooked Vultures and won two tickets to see them play the next at a private event. This was huge for a lot of reasons. We came to Toronto originally to see them play like six songs opening for a band I didn’t care about. We ended up seeing them in the smallest place I have to date. I was obviously front and center. This time Ritzy did something I’ve still never seen her do again; during their last jam before she walked off stage to let the other two play as always, she decided to put her guitar in my hands and walk off stage. So I jammed out with my favorite band. It was really. fucking. awesome. This is just number 10…
9.) Foo Fighters: Firefly Festival 2014 – One of the more unique sets I have ever seen them play. My lady and I waited at the rail for 12 hours throughout the day for this. It was the first time her and I had a chance to see FF just the two of us. It was incredible and they were at the top of their game for this one.
8.) Roger Waters The Wall Live: LA Memorial Coliseum 2012 – I flew out for two weeks to visit my brother in LA and got to catch this spectacle for the second time in less than a year. The outdoor venue, being in LA, and improved stage show blew the first show out of the water.
7.) Tenacious D: Bonnaroo 2010 – They were the reason I bought the ticket to my first Roo and they killed it. If it wasn’t for them, who knows where I’d be when it comes to Roo.
6.) Paul McCartney: Bonnaroo 2013 – Yep.
5.) Foo Fighters w/Supergrass: Rochester NY 2008 – My first time seeing them so of course it was special.
4.) The Joy Formidable w/Empires: Private event in Chicago 2014 – my 13th time seeing TJF, but the most special. I won two tickets to the event 3 days prior to it in a city over 7 hours away. My best friend since first grade and I made the journey and had some of the most fun we have ever had together.
3.) Radiohead: Bonnaroo 2012 – Enough said
2.) Global Festival Central Park NYC 2012: Neil Young & Crazy Horse, Foo Fighters, The Black Keys – I never thought I’d be lucky enough to see Neil at all, let alone with Crazy Horse. It was such an experience seeing them after Foo Fighters too, a band I never see anyone play after haha.
1.) Foo Fighters: Secret show 930 Club 2014- The most intimate show with my favorite band of all time. I got to meet Dave and they played my favorite song. It was the greatest day of my entire life.

This is a really hard question but I'll give it a go (all in no specific order)...
Lollapalooza 1995 (Sonic Youth, Hole, Cypress Hill, Beck, Elastica, Pavement, Jesus Lizard, Mighty Mighty Bosstones)
Pearl Jam (Have seen them 7 times since Binaural but would say their Riot Act set had the most energy of all those shows)
Neil Young & Crazy Horse w/ Oasis, Spiritualized, Screaming Trees, etc 1996 (I have seen every iteration of Neil at least twice but this one took the cake)
Radiohead (Take your pick, seen them repeatedly dating back to Amnesiac, would probably go with their In Rainbows tour)
David Bowie, Reality Tour 2004 (Had previously seen Bowie on the Area2 festival for Heathen but this was a true full set of Bowie and his band killing it)
Jim James Soul/Funk Superjam, Bonnaroo 2013 (easily my favourite show of the 100+ I have seen at various Bonnaroo's)
Bonnaroo (Have been to numerous festivals and have been blessed to have gone to every Bonnaroo since 2009, would place the overall experiences of 09 & 12 at the top of the list)
Arcade Fire (Another act I have seen a good half dozen or more times, who always put on a great show, but their Suburbs show on Olympic Island is a top 3 all time for me)
Portishead 2011 (truly an experience vs just another great show)
MMJ (Again take your pick. I have seen them 6-7 times but I would say their 2.5 headlining set during the Evil Urges tour was the strongest I have seen them)
Groove Armada, full live band, 2003 (Of all the EDM shows I have been to that have blown me away this one completely took me by surprise)
Well that's actually 11-ish but that's the best I could narrow things down.

This is so hard to decide.
I will list my favorites in no particular order except for the bottom which is my favorite.
Rodrigo Y Gabriela - Bonnaroo 2007 Thurdsday night - my first day of bonnaroo and Rod Y Gab absolutley slayed that tent with their material and a bunch of covers. The roar from the crowd when they closed out their set just set apart from any other time I have seen them. Still my favvorite Thursday show at Bonnaroo ever.
U2 - 360 tour Dallas Cowboys stadium - say what you want about U2, but they put on an amazing show and I was about 10 feet from the 360 stage on the floor of Cowboys stadium. It was a spectacle that no other band could easily put together.
Flaming Lips and Beck - Sea Change Tour Fort worth texas 2002 - This was one of my first major concerts and the first one I went to by myself since it sold out before my friends bought tickets. The Flaming Lips opened then Beck played a 30 minute solo set and then the Flaming Lips were Beck's band. A highlight of mine was punching a baloon onstage and Wayne popped it with his guitar and we both looked at each other and were like, hell yes.
Nine Inch Nails - late night Bonnaroo 2009 - This show was just intense the whole way thru. I met a good friend at this show and we always meet up at festivals whenever we get the chance. Portishead - IlosaariRock Music Festival 2014 in Joensuu Finland - This set was just the best songs they had to offer and it was inside a tent and I was 2nd row so I was able to give Beth a group hug when she ran out in the crowd. I have had Portishead stuck in my head the whole time I 've been in Finland since then.
Muse - Glastonbury 2010 - It is hard to beat the singalongs at a Glastonbury crowd. Watching a band play on the Pyramid stage is the pinacle of what live music should be. I still love the 2007 Muse ACL set also, but the Glastonbury crowd beat it out.
NOFX- SXSW 2009 - They played a free show at the mess with Texas fest and me and my friends snuck backstage and got to watch them play all of Punk in Drublic while hanging on the backstage rail for a crazy crowd.
Trentemoller - sxsw 2011 - I was hoping to catch this show and I was turned away at the door for having a camera, so I walked around and hopped the fence. I was already pretty smashed from all the free drinks at sxsw, but he came out and put on one of the best live electronic shows i have seen anywhere. His ilosaarirock show was also awesome last week.
Bjork - Coachella 2007 - The crowd for this show was the most intense push everyone into a trash compactor style crowd I have ever been in along with it being over 100 degrees that day. It was hard to make it thru the whole set with only half a water bottle, but it was worthwhile since she played declare independence the first time I had ever heard it.
My Morning Jacket - Bonnaroo 2008 4 hour late night set in the rain where they controlled the weather with guitar solos. The weather slowly picked off the weak and I ran into a friend after an hour who dragged me to her front row spot. Then I stayed there for the rest of the show. It was my first of many Jacket shows, but they just owned it on an other worldly level that can almost never be topped.
There are so many other amazing shows I could keep listing, but those mostly are set apart from other shows. I would want to do a top 20. but this will work for now. Massive Attack and St. Vincent get honorable mentions.
-Metallica 02 Tampa: thought they were goin bring down the Trop!
-Pantera 01 Ozzfest Miami: Seeing Dimebag before he died was just awesome.
-Pimpbot Hawaii: got stationed there while in the Army. Became friends with this ska band. Some of the coolest people I've ever met. Def a fun show every time.
-Mighty Mighty Bosstones warped tour Orlando 02: Really fun act to watch and to dance to.
-Shakira London O2 Arena 07: Was on R&R from Iraq. OMG she can dance.
-Andrew W.K. Waikiki 06: Dude dressed as security comes out on stage and starts jamming like crazy lmao. Small venue, good energy.
Korn Miami 00: Awesome light show. Even thou we didn't have floor seats, it was wild watching a giant mosh pit with those lights.
My top four are all from Roo 14! Danced for an hour at Jack White, went nuts at Skrillex SJ ( loved the entire setlist ) and ended at Kaskade. One of the best nights of my life. I work out regularly and woke up Sunday feeling physically, emotionally and mentally drained. Danced for 8 hours straight. Had narly blisters on both feet and my arms and shoulders were extremely sore.
My top show is Omar Souleymen at Roo 14. The last 4 years have been difficult for me, I only caught one band during that time and he was the first act I caught at Roo. When he started playing, it put me in a state of Nirvana that lasted until we left Monday. I thought it was absolutely incredible that everyone there was partying with a group from Syria. It made me realize how powerful music can be.
LCD Soundsystem - Bonnaroo 2010 Neutral Milk Hotel - Mountain Oasis Fest 2013 Nine Inch Nails - Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Charlotte NC 2006 David Byrne & St. Vincent - Belk Theater in Charlotte NC 2013 Metallica - Charlotte Coliseum 2004 Bear In Heaven - Hopscotch Music Fest 2010 Battles - Moogfest 2011 REM - PNC Music Pavilion Raleigh 2008 Flying Lotus - Moogfest 2011 Deerhunter - Cat's Cradle 2011
