and I think I saw a post about this earlier, but is it possible to upgrade to VIP after you buy a GA ticket? I'm on the fence about it but I want to go ahead and get a ticket tomorrow.
Based solely on the fact that there is a sweet payment plan deal, I'm thinking of going VIP. I can take down some free alcohols, and a poster/tshirt saves me 70 like cks said. That right there makes it worth it to me.

I have a GA ticket now. Planning on going down alone at the moment. Is there someone who will take this monkey trainer as a roommate? Or should I book my own room soon?

That would work for me. Definitely down to split a room. Let me know if you want to definitely go for it or if you end up doing other things. I just need space to sleep......bed, floor, tub.
