What is the new music on tap lounge by miller light. I don't remember this from last year can someone refresh my memory because I want to see capital cities late night Thursday.
Last year they had the Great Taste lounge. I'm guessing this is the same thing. Though I remember nothing about it, other than it's name.
I'm really, really puzzled as to why they did Bjork vs. Beach House and overlapping Cat Power, with Bjork leading into Mumford, while the Lumineers are mostly unopposed on Which. Did they think that the Lumineers are such a big draw that having them vs. Beach House and company would lead to those other stages being empty? Because having the Lumineers -> Mumford & Sons on What, with Bjork closing out the Which, makes a hell of a lot more sense. First, it's reasonable to think that the people who are high on the Lumineers are probably more likely to want to see Mumford, so you keep a greater concentration of people at the What stage. As it is, there will be a fair amount who see the Lumineers and rush over to see Mumford. Second, there are probably plenty of people who don't really care for the Lumineers and Mumford's own style of semi-folky pop music. For those people, after Bjork ends, there's nothing but three hours of boredom.
I kind of get why the Lumineers are getting the special "almost a headliner" treatment - right now, over 10K have added them to their schedule, compared to 384 for Bjork. No, seriously. But it's still a really, really bad decision.
Bolded part is my issue. I'm indifferent on both bands but for people who don't like either of the bands this is a big, big gap if you don't like folk-pop.
Ya and I can speak for someone who enjoys both of those bands. And I couldn't agree more that most of the people that will go to Mumford will want to see Lumineers. Thats going to be a shit show shuffle.
Thursday - Who should I catch after Alt-J? I'm not familiar with the LN artists after him.
Vaccines and Allen Stone are both solid (but different), give them a listen on Grooveshark or Spotify. Also, not listed anywhere except the cinema tent schedule is Polyphonic Spree performing Rocky Horror Picture Show at 12:30. That's where I will be.
Ooh I wanted to see that... I forgot to cross check with the cinema tent. Good call.
Is there really no late night in That Tent on Friday?
I'm dead serious when I say I'd like an explanation from ACent on this. Are they unaware of the factors that set their festival apart from others? Last year it was bad enough to throw NYC based bar bands at us, but now nothing at all?
all and all I really love the schedule. Saturday is a little weaker than the other days for me, and also the day with the most conflicts. I love being able to see Milo Green, Araabmuzik, Walk the Moon, Purity Ring, Alt-J then Captial Cities on Thursday.
So Polyphonic Spree isn't doing a normal show? Only RHPS?
Ok, I was worried that I was losing my mind and just couldn't find them.
I'm expecting something to be announced/revealed. I can't imagine their only set time is in the cinema tent. I could see them announced as doing some weird/different kind of show (maybe a Superjam/guests type thing). I'll be very surprised if they don't get a regular slot on the schedule.

I believe it was the convenient little stage with blue cushions you could stretch out on? No?

I'm in this camp. I think I am just going to use that gap to check out the revivalists in cafe where, and then spend the next couple hours resting up for superjam awesomeness. I skipped KoL a couple years ago to prepare for LN, and it was great to be somewhat refreshed for a long night.

it is weird, but I'd rather have an empty tent than an empty Which. more room to spread people out.
plus they could be doing something cool like the Portugal the Man parade a couple years ago, or an impromptu set at the clock tower.

I dont know about anyone else, but when I hovered over Bjork it brought up Nas. Maybe that's part of the issue.

Good point. Can't forget about the surprise/secret shows and parades that will pop up. Maybe Polyphonic Spree will be leading one of those to their set?

No conflicts for Sir Paul
The only thing I find to be a bummer here is how close I'm cutting it between some shows that I may never get a good spot unless I leave sets early (i.e. Paul McCartney / Wu-Tang. Luminees / Mumford. Kendrick Lamar / Edward Sharpe) but for the most part, I am pleased!

I just hope they change the configuration around a little. The big pillows were great and all, but the placement of the risers didn't leave a lot of room in front of the stage for the more popular acts.
R. Kelly/Superjam and The National/Divine Fits (would be worse had I not already seen David Byrne & St. Vincent) are my two worst conflicts. Otherwise, it's not too bad for me. I would be upset about Wilco/Jim James, but fortunately I'm getting numerous other opportunities with Jim this year, so I'm going Wilco.
Two shows on Which Stage Friday night is cool, but at this point it looks like that resulted in sacrificing That Tent for the night.

Do you like Michael Winslow of Police Academy and many other films? Pretty much a human sound machine and he will be performing during Mumford in the Cinema Tent. That's where I'll be.
