Of Monsters & Men being in a tent is going to be ridiculously packed. They already have 10k people that added them to their mocks, plus no other big crowd draw at that time.
Would've made a lot more sense to switch them with Local Natives on the Which.
Have there been serious schedule changes before? I mean, like major "we fucked up scheduling" changes and not "this band got dropped so we'll fill them up with X" kind of re-scheduling?

Only thing that comes to mind is Phoenix getting moved from a cafe to a tent after they blew up in "09.

I really am pleased with this....I think i've come to the realization that Sunday will alway be a cluster fuck but really, I keep looking back at my schedule to make sure I'm not kidding myself...I really only have one or two conflicts that I'm broken about...other then that I feel like its pretty damn perfect
My big two complaints regarding late night is Weird Al having a late night, cause he's going to get shafted. However, if the crowd becomes unbearable during the superjam, I might bail and go see him instead. And that empty space late Friday night in That Tent. Couldn't they just sign Karl Denson's Tiny Universe or some band of that stature, and let them play all night. They wouldn't cost much, and would give the jam band crowd some happiness. Seriously, I think whoever is in charge of scheduling must drop loads of acid for kicks when he/she makes the schedule. They have to be having a laugh. And I'll be seeing the Revivalists or hanging in the cinema tent listening to Michael Winslow. Can't believe the faux-Amish people of Lumineers and Mumford are playing for three straight hours.

I bet not paying for the crew to run the tent saves Roo a decent amount money, on top of the artist booking fee.

Its probably been mentioned already, but how did they think it would be a good idea to have The Lumineers close out Which before Mumford? Its gonna be a stampede of people running from which to what.

Not sure what you're implying here. Are you saying that you agree with Bonnaroo's decision on not having any artists play during That Tent late Friday night, or are you just making some random comment that could be called an "observation?"
Someone tell me i'm stupid and i'll move on, but what about a late addition of Sufjan in that open LN slot? Backed by St. Vincent (she'd have to fly in as her and Byrne do have an off day on Friday), the Poly's and Cat Martino doing back-up vocals?

Regarding which stage vs. tent, I vote neither.
You mentioned that Karl Denson wouldn't cost much, I'm observing that 6ou seem to be forgetting the fact that running the stage costs quite a bit of money in addition to the artist fee (probably more than Karl Denson). But I guess I agree with you that Bonnaroo should always have more of what I want and less of the things I don't like.

For what it's worth, I was told by someone in the KD organization that Bonnaroo doesn't like them that much. Not sure what that meant but it seemed like there is some friction there.
I'll admit I have no idea what you guys are talking about, I just saw KD and something about booking him. Sorry if my post doesn't make sense.

I bet Phil Lesh had something to do with it.
How so? I feel like I should know what you're talking about but I don't.

Phil Lesh curated a Superjam, which was supposed to include Kanye West and Karl Denson, but they both didn't show up. In addition to Phil being mad at Kanye and Karl, he blamed Bonnaroo and now refuses to play the fest ever again. I think that's how it goes.

Karl and Phil did the "one person kneels behind a guy and the other one pushes him over" thing to Ashley Capps at Outside Lands in 2011 and he's still pissed about it.

We are talking 2008 right? I was there that year. Phil played the late night and from what I hear Kanye wouldn't go on until everyone else was off stage, thus cutting Phil short.
The next day Phil had that acoustic show but KD and Kanye were never billed for that. They wouldn't have fit in anyway. I must be missing something.
I don't. Honestly when I joined this site all I've heard was Macca. There were bands I've heard of but I never listened to them.
I've discovered so much new music since I joined this site though. @superfurryanimal has been really helpful in expanding my musical knowledge for this fest. So what's awesome is for Thurs, Sat, and Sunday I have ton of music to discover still. Friday is gonna rock my world though. Local Natives, Amadou and Mariam, Wilco, PAUL MCCARTNEY, Wu, and Animal Collective.
yessssssssssss
I'm almost in the same boat. When I joined this list I knew M&S and just a few other bands, now I'm REALLY excited to hear all these new bands. I definitely have a lot of research to do!
