So I wanted to know what everyones thoughts were on which prime canned beers they will be bringing to roo and in what portion. All premium craft brews or will the be some PBR's in your cooler to help ease the cost? I have a local distribution hub that sells beer on the cheap if the box is damaged but what you find is luck of the draw. I plan on checking it out over the next few weeks and cherry pick any quality cans, but Ill still take a case of PBR for $14 said and done. This year, I'm bringing a couple cases of Yuengling for daytime, and a few 6 packs from our local breweries for the evenings and to trade in camp. Last year I brought almost all craft beer, and though it was delicious, it become tedious after four straight days.
I am spending way too much and traveling too far to get there and drink PBR. No offense to PBR but no thanks.
Me and my gf gunna just do a lot of local 6 packs. The make up will be something like my favorite brews from Eddyline, some from the Dillon Dam Brewery, Avery, and we probably can't leave Colorado without getting some Sunshine from new belgium but that these days is getting pretty far from the term 'craft beer'.
EDIT: And not talking all heavy craft beers. Eddyline makes an awesome boater beer for the day time.

I will be bringing Hell or High Watermelon and some Slyfox IPA but will probably throw some Miller light in because at some point in the night I always like to switch to yellow beer.

I live in philly which has made me a beer snob. I'm spending two days in asheville prior to roo and plan on picking up some crafts there before hitting the farm. Any recommendations? Recently found Sculpin IPA in cans that I bought with the intention of taking to Roo, but they'll be drank before then for sure

I got some, Leinenkugel's the Summer Shandy, Lemon Berry Shandy are good, haven't tried the orange yet but they are nice and light
If you like fruity beer, that is.. I'm going with some summer ale and lager from Brooklyn brewery, and maybe some Amstel light.. All are easy drinkers, far better taste than the usual domestics

Nice ice cold Angry Orchard, I don't care if they call me a sissy that stuff is tasty adn refreshing
Depends on everyone's location but here are some of my recs based on breweries that should have wide distribution.
Oskar Blues - pretty much anything - Momma's Little Yellow Pils and Dales Pale are probably the standards for warm weather drinking. Ten Fidy and Gubna if you're crazy (they're both 10%+)
Sixpoint - most everything is decent to great. They are all 16 oz cans outside of a few so those may warm up faster. Resin and 3Beans are my favorite.
Good standard one offs - Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Ska Modus Hoperandi.
Here is what I've narrowed my choices down to. A few of these are available only in Chicago (Half Acre & Revolution):
Sixpoint 3Beans, 10% Brewery Vivant Hubris, 13% Half Acre Akari Shogun, 5.5% Half Acre Daisy Cutter, 5.2% Half Acre Pony, 5.75% Oskar Blues Ten Fidy, 10.5% Revolution Anti-Hero, 6.5% Revolution Eugene, 6.8% Revolution Bottom Up Wit, 5% Revolution Rosa, 5.8%

So much Yuengling love in this thread. I'll definitely be bringing a case of that for my casual drinking. Need to find something different to round out my limit though, no clue what yet.

Ill be bringing Old Milwaukee straight from Milwaukee! The only problem I'm going to run into with the no glass policy is when it comes to mimosas. Not sure if champaign comes in plastic?
Gotta roll with some plain old American light beer as the majority with some craft to mix it up. Can't do heavy IPAs all weekend. It's just too much.
It's always a good idea to bring some crap beer anyway (Milwaukee's Best is my go-to), to mix in with good beer. I usually stash 3 or 4 cans in my backpack each time I go in to Centeroo, and if I get caught and I am forced to get rid of them, no big deal. It's Beast. The other option is to chug them outside the gate in the event you are caught being sneaky, and the crap beer is easier to chug. It's a win-win.

Say you are caught at the gate. Can you drink a beer or two there without being immediately sent to the back, or do you lose your spot? I could see myself chugging one and tossing a couple to people still in line, but I wouldn't want to chug 3 or 4 or have to wait again. In the past, I've sneaked one in on my person, being careful which volunteer I let check me, but 2-3 would be nice.

Nah. In my experience, if they catch you, they will tell you to either throw them away or drink them, or they won't even care. There is usually an open area off to the side of where the lines are funneling, and you can just drink them over there or give them away, then jump back in when you are finished. Nobody will make you go to the back of the line.
