Hey guys, my brother and I live in Elliston, VA (halfway between Blacksburg and Roanoke) and we are desperately looking for a ride. Please let me know if you're going down I-81, as we live five minutes off it, and have two open seats!
Long time inforoo lurker. I'm in desperate need of a ride from college park, md (university of maryland) down to roo. My ride bailed on me and my friend and now we have no way to get down. If anyone has room for 2 let me know. We can promise a fun ride down along with money to help save on gas costs. It's supposed to be our second year going and it'd be a a major bummer if we couldnt.
Coming from Hereford Zone.... leaving Wednesday at 5p .. usually sleep for few hours at truck stop in va.. then finish the ride.. .Have gotten in to Roo around 12noon each time ( this will be our 4th Roo) and always had good camping spot ( 10-15min walk) Cannot wait! Let me know if anyone wants to caravan!
How olds your brother? No offense but bringing 2 kids along doesn't sound like a great idea.
I can dig that. He's 19; I'm 16. I understand if you don't want minors in the car or something, but I'm not really a typical high-schooler and he's not really a typical college kid.

OK, my friend and his girl need a ride from northern va. they can supply gas money and all that. This guy is honestly the coolest person I have ever met and there were some issues in the ride situation so I was just wondering if someone could possibly help him out.

any of you DC/MD/VA people going across 68 or into WV? i really really need a ride, I was going to meet someone on 81 as thats where it seems everyone is going but thats like 2.5-3 hours from here.. if anyone is taking 68 and going down 79 i can meet you just about anywhere along that route, google maps shows it as adding like 50 miles over taking 81 depending on where you start, but i'd chip in gas conversation driving and other fun stuff..
I'm 22 and this will be my first roo if I make it happen. please help? gwyatt@mix.wvu.edu or 304.518.9636
Is this the most recent DMV thread?? Time to get this thing alive again for this year's Roo...
Who all's goin? This is my 1st year. Gonna save up a lil bit more and get a ticket soon...or maybe just wait for those cheaper more last minute tickets to save $.
Unsure how I may get there this year though, as I'm going solo. I'm sure I'll figure something out.
I'd offer a ride, but I'm waiting to see how much crap I end up with in my car after a trial run in a few weeks, I think. I also need to make sure I finally have a ticket in hand before I unintentionally mess up someone's plans.
Right now though, my plan is to take my Corolla down with my friend from Stafford. I know I'm gonna use up part of the back seat though. Thankfully he says he's real good at packing efficiently, so that should help. I took 3 people up to upstate NY last year for Desiderata and it was a tight fit, but we did it.
I'll probably post in here again once things are definite and if I can have space for 1 more.
You're welcome! It's a good way to meet a new friend and have someone who's experienced with us, but no clue if I'll have the room.
For those of you that've gone, how long has it taken you? Google says about 11 hours to get there, but with stops included, I'm hoping for 13 max (not including the wait to get in). Any helpful info? Did anyone take a shortcut to avoid the highway 24? I think I read 41 or 40 can help. I'm also thinkin of gettin dry ice near there, so might as well take a quicker, back way if its near that too.
I've always gone 64 to 81 to 40 to 75 to 29. From Richmond thats about a 10 hour drive (minus line). I've heard about backroads, but I'm not sure if I buy into them or not. The past few years I've been driving down Wensday and picking up a hotel outside of Chatanoogy that night and waking early and gassing up before going the last hour. Helps not wanting to fall asleep in line.

We go 66 > 81 > 40 > 75 > 24 We go through Chattanooga instead of Knoxville - Nashville. Seems like less traffic, but maybe not? Stopping in Nashville this year though. It generally takes us about 11 hours. I love it when we cross the TN border and can go 70!!
GarageLand, let me know if you can't find a ride. I might know someone who's driving. (However not the kind of person who makes plans less than 10 minutes ahead of time. It's always crazy town with her.) We are leaving Tuesday and spending the night somewhere on the way down. Picking up our RV on Wednesday afternoon and can't drop it off until Tuesday so that probably won't work for you. Plus you may not want to sit on the EZ up for 10 hours.....

Listen to this woman and not me. I'm half drunk most days.
Thanks Bunny. I'm gonna rent a car and drive to Chatanooga. From there antoher Inforooster is gonna pick me up and take me in. ;D
81 to 40 to 75 to 24 is exactly how Google says. I was just wonderin if it's faster to go another way and beat some of the crowd on 24 waiting to get in. I'm afraid of the wait being more than just 2ish hours. I've read horror stories of 9 or more hours. :-\ Definitely trying to get there Thurs morning regardless.
I like the idea of driving through the night. Less people on the road and don't needa worry about where to stay and adding another cost. I'd just nap once I got there or take turns driving and nap when not driving (definitely don't wanna end up driving alone. that's for sure).
Any idea if taking 40 further is helpful? Maybe 40 to 70? It's only maybe 10 minutes longer without traffic/stops/etc, according to Google. I've also read you can take 24, but take an earlier exit to 41 (and also looks like 2 combines with it there) and beat the traffic that way.
Alright, time to de-lurk. I'm from northern VA, currently planning on going alone, but would probably really enjoy some company. Who else is going from this area?

Hey everyone I'm desperately looking for a ride to Bonnaroo this year! I live in VA Charlottesville/Richmond area. I'm 19 which for Roo doesn't really matter cause everyone drinks haha and I am 420 friendly so I'm all about the green! I can totally help to pitch in on gas and I'm just looking to have an awesome time. If you have any question feel free to Email at ElijiwanRose@yahoo.com or AIM: XTheHybridOneX I'm pretty stoked for Bonnaroo and I can't wait for the costume party during the Flaming Lips performance(Note please no scary costumes you could get beat up by the multiple hippies who will be tripping just a heads up.) ☮&♥ ;D
I was searching "bonnaroo site:craigslist.org" for craigslist postings around the country selling bonnaroo tickets...
and i came across 1 in Arlington VA looking to exchange his extra ticket for a ride. I'm so friggin lucky! I hope it works out (and none of you steal him from me!! hahaha)
1st Roo, if this works out, is gonna start off on a really good note! Even if I have to split the cost of my friend's ticket, I can still find him a cheap $200 or so, and it'd be like $100 each! yesss! I <3 Craigslist, and awesome people like that!
