seriously. mumford isn't coming back. with lolla and everything else they're playing, everyone has a chance to see them.
bonnaroo, get some epic shiz all three nights this year. you have the opportunity. this is the year the headliners enter a whole new stratosphere.
I hope you're right, I honestly feel that they won't be back next year, but instead they'll return after they release their third album, whenever that is, to make up for this year
That being said, happy to check JJ off my list, & really hoping to get another chance to see M&S.
You will... At Bonnaroo 2014, you can bet your bottom dollar on it
I'm sure they'll be back - whether they headline next year I think might still be up in the air, but they'll make their way back to the farm one way or another... and I'll be there!

My take: I too was disappointed to hear Mumford had cancelled, but think Jack Johnson was a perfect replacement. I think he appeals to a similar crowd, and nothing short of Mumford & Sons themselves would have fully pleased everyone who was so pumped to see them.
I saw Jack at Bonnaroo in 2008. Just like his set years ago, this year's show was a welcome and refreshing 2 hours of serenity in what is undeniably a whirlwind of a weekend. His music might not have you chanting and jumping like Mumford. But I, for one, equally enjoy lying in the grass and being serenaded into an almost dream-like state. He beckons the crowd to take a peaceful moment to just chill out and smile. This year, the fact that Jack Johnson traveled to the fest with the intention of playing alongside friends and enjoying the music with the rest of us added a little something extra to the show. His connection with the crowd and sense of humor about the situation made me feel as if, in a crowd of thousands of people, I was sitting around a campfire listening to him play.
One reason for this post is that I'm seeking confirmation of what was one of my favorite truly & uniquely Bonnaroo moments of the weekend. Mid set, Jack seemed to start to play the intro the Lennon's "Imagine." With Paul McCartney fresh in our minds from the night before, the 2 simple alternating notes brought cheers from the crowd, and someone yelled "Play it!!!!" Jack made a comment about being too wasted (or something to that effect) and went into another song. Does anyone else remember this?!?!?!????? If I knew what song it preceded I would search for a video, but can't remember.
Hope the music from 2 weekends ago is still ringing in everyone's hearts
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.
