For anyone who was in the Backwoods Lounge on Sunday afternoon, please back me up on the Macklemore, David Byrne, and St. Vincent freestyling. Best part of any Roo I've been to yet.
1a: Sir Paul - He truly blew my brain. Hit a perfect state for him and man he gave me a ride I'll never forget. I knew he was going to be good. But I vastly under-estimated just how good.
1b: 21 Pilots- This show I knew it was going to be good too, but was 500% better then I was expecting. Hanging off the rail when he took the drum and put it basically on my face and pounded on it was something I can never forget. My gf was never in a real bodies flying over head, mosh pit bouncing, energy exploding ground zero like that before and boy was she spoiled for her first one. Already considering driving to Vegas just to catch them one more time this year.
3: Tom Petty- Dancing in the rain during Petty was truly magical. It gave me such closure to the weekend I can’t describe. I had slight anxiety going in after such a perfect time that, “this is actually about to end” and he just left me with such a sense of peace and happiness.
4: Lord Huron- Saw them once before months ago and boy have they GROWN into a band. SO SO SO much more energy, comfortably, songs adapted for live setting. REALLY solid. When we first saw them at the Bluebird they were 25% of the live performers they are now.
5: Lumineers- Hanging off the rail again they were really fun. Glad they played way over their set time and the amount of covers was fantastic too. When they busted out Bob Dylan I was at peace.
6: Of Monsters and Men – Had a moment with the bassist when we were hanging off the rail. Filled me with Joy.
7: ALO – After 21 Pilots me and my gf were so wiped. It was great to get back out and jam to them. I remember walking back to camp after and I asked her, “So what time is it.. Like 1?” she says ,”It is 3:30am”.. Oh that was a good feeling.
8: Edward Sharpe – His energy was electrifying. Talking to him during his show on Which was so awesome.
9: Delta Rae- Their vocals were perfect to start the day off just waking up.
10: Edit: Sir Paul sound check right in front of my camp.. This one has to make the list. "Babe that is quacking Paul playing.." "Noo that is impossible. I'm sure they are sound checking a recording or something." Then the inevitable Paul giggle/banter after eight days a week we both knew were were getting an early Paul show. Then he played and played and played much to our surprise.
Honrable Mention: Jack Johnson – Making out to him in the grass totally spectacular.

1. Macca, duh! 2. Bjork - although I just kept telling myself how awesome it would be if it were dark. 3. Alt-J - I had heard that they didnt play with much energy or enthusiasm but there set was flawless and I watched it alone after I got separated and still had a great time. 4. David Byrne and St. Vincent 5. Tame Impala - one of my new favs. 6. Bustle in the Hedgerow - I wish I would have watched the whole thing but that was just a kick ass time for music inside Roo. Way too much cool shit at once so I had to split time. I'll definitely be digging into this more and catching a full set sometime. I hope they get invited back. 7. Wilco - I know people seem down on this set but I enjoyed it. 8. Boyz Noize - I really enjoyed this set. It reminded me of good EDM sets before the new era of guys playing songs on laptops. He put together a set that a DJ should and had some really incredible mixes. 9. Portugal. the Man - they are one of my favorite bands but this set being so early and on the Which Stage really downgrades it from what probably would have been a Top 4 had it been late night or pre-headliner. 10. ZZ Top - the sound wasnt too great from right outside the tent but I could tell they were putting on a show.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

Wish I could have stayed up for the late night shows. I watched them all sitting way in the back, probably napping. AnCo and JJ Superjam sounded pretty cool though.

1. Rock and Soul Superjam (Possibility best Roo show I have ever seen) 2. Sir Paul- (Dont need to explain why) 3. Tom Petty - (When he didn't play his hits, he made sure he played songs that just straight up rocked, Campbell was amazing) 4. The National -(so surprised, honestly wasnt a big fan of them till I saw them live) 5. Wilco (Nothing too special, but still on point, very good) 6. Hip Hop/Lettuce SuperJam - (Love Lettuce, & the rap over top of it, yeah. plus I was extremely intoxicated and dancing all over the place) 7. Trombone Shorty (He held a note on the trombone for literally 2 minutes) 8. Father John Misty (His stage presence was unbelievable, plus he was hilarious) 9. Grizzly Bear - (Solid set, sad that I had to leave a little early to get to Wilco) 10. Django Django - (I didn't even know who they were, was there for FJM, but I liked what they were doing) Honorable mention - Govt Mule - (Rocked as expected, wish that they played later in the day, I was too hot to enjoy it to the fullest.)

2. Soul Superjam (Holy shiz, what a party. Chanting "Thank You Faletme" for five minutes solid, and then the band comes back and rips right back into it. Incredible)

5. Father John Misty (He was little prickly in attitude, but "Writing a Novel" was sublime)
6. Bluegrass Superjam (Just a damn good time. Such joy and honest feeling)

9. Wilco (I loved the song where the drums keep going all haywire. Everybody around me thought something had gone wrong with the sound)

1. R. Kelly - I was not a fan at all of his, or modern R&B in general so this is a HUGE surprise to me that I would rank him #1. 2. Sir Paul - Amazing set list, he would have been #1 if he had played my favorite song of all time, but he still got about 4 or my top 10. Also I was too far back. 3. David Byrne & St. Vincent - I missed them before at Roo, but had seen him in '04 there. It was probably the most Talking Heads I could have hoped for. 4. Allen Stone - Where was everyone? This was the dance party to be at! I should not have gone to bed after and missed the Polyphonic Spree right after. 5. Conspirator - Yeah it's cheesed!ck music but I almost had a heart attack kickin' up dust with the flatbrims. Check for the dude in green pants on the webcast. 6. Bjork - Bad set time but the sound was amazing and it was so roomy even up front. She gave me goosebumps for the whole show. Thank you. 7. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis - Ha, I went with my groop only having a mild interest but I was totally blown away by the energy. Guy's got skills. 8. Animal Collective - Glad I walked away from Pretty Lights for most of this, I got to walk right into the tent and they sounded great and I'm definitely not their biggest fan. 9. Pretty Lights - I guess I'm still a youngin' at heart. Yeah Derek is getting a bit lazy but his new album sounds amazing and he gave us our only sunrise set. My legs fell off. 10. Matt & Kim - Didn't know who they were at all (aside from Harlem shake video) and they blew me away with their energy, such a fun fun show.
Honorable mentions. Tame Impala - Really wish I had given them more time instead of Ed Sharpe, but I was diggin' what I did see. Purity Ring - Not sure why the hate on the board for this set, I thought it sounded just like the album and was really great. Billy Idol - Only caught the end of his set, much sentiment involved for me.
So, it turns out that the kind of music that I go to Bonnaroo last for, which is pop music, reigned supreme this year and I could not be happier about it. Who cares about the lack of heady jambands and super-psychedelic late nights when you can have this much fun!

Ok here is mine...
1. Sir Paul--Great mix of songs and just overall vibe made this set so dang AWESOME! Let It Be & Hey Jude were just amazing! I felt like the set went by so fast.
2. Billy Idol--The man can still rock! I lost my voice singing along to Blue Highway! Steve Stephens still has it too! Played the right mix and nailed Mony Mony at the end!
3. Kyng--I had hyped these guys up before Bonnaroo and their Cafe Where show melted my face. Best metal I saw at Bonnaroo this year by far! Got there setlist, signed CD and a drumstick to boot.
4. Polyphonic Spree Rocky Horror Music Show--It was so worth standing in line for! They had the theatrics down plus 500 people doing Time Warp was amazing to see! Lead singer looked/acted/sounded just like Tim Curry!
5. Reptar--I really love their sound and they gave the crowd so much energy and hype. 80's synch pop is BACK IN BUSINESS! I was on the rail and they did not disappoint! I expect good things from these guys.
6. Cloney--Yes...I admit it, Cloney was a fun, exciting entertaining show, complete with a Jimi Hendrix appearence and a Brad Pitt Costume change! Loved their energy and they seemed to be having a blast! Signed CD just added to the fun!
7. Charli XCX--I knew very little about her before her set but man, can she deliver! She could be the next big pop thing! I also got a signed beach ball from her as well!
8. Tiny Victories--I really loved the passion in their music and the fact that my voice was sampled on one of their songs just made the set even better! Signed CD just added to their appeal!
9. Clockwork--I had no expectations going into this show but man oh man, that guy can work a daytime crowd! Killer beats, good visuals...I just wonder how good he would have been at night?
10a Von Grey--4 sisters who just nail the Americana sound! Great Cafe Where Set that showed off their musicianship. Sogned CD to continue an amazing music trend. 10b Reno 911--This would have been higher if not for the horrible pilots they showed at the end. Their live stuff was hilarious and beyond funny! Whippets are LEGAL!

1. Paul McCartney - Didn't expect to really get into this show but boy I was wrong. This show changed my life and I don't say that about many shows. He mindQuacked me so hard I did not know what to do with myself once he stopped playing and we were walking away from the stage. 2. Empire of The Sun - I knew this show was gonna be weird, but I didn't really have any expectations for it. I was blown away! The bass sounded amazing live; Walking On A Dream was like a completely different song. Only issue was that it started late and only lasted a short 60 minutes 3. Pretty Lights - PL was my top artist on the lineup out of everyone this year, though I'm a much bigger fan of his music than his live show. This was probably the best I've seen him play; transitions were pretty clean, he played a lot of extended intros to his songs and played out some of the songs a little differently. Definitely seemed to drop a lot more live remixes this time and he dropped a ton of new shiz. I knew he'd play until sunrise cause he did the same in 2011 so that was also a plus. Also the light show was quacking ridiculous. There were lights coming out of everywhere! 4. R. Kelly - I had pretty low expectations for R. Kelly's performance but this show was so fun! Great showman. The birds during I Believe I Can Fly was the icing on the cake. 5. Purity Ring - This was the main show I was looking forward to on Thursday and while I have no idea what they were doing on stage I loved the noises they were making. The beginning was almost unbearable though; the only way I was standing was because my body was pressed against everyone elses. 6. Animal Collective - Not a huge fan of their music but when we took a break from PL and bounced over to This Tent I couldn't help but babble along to all the songs I didn't know. 7. Allen Stone - This show was not the type of music I really listen to considering I go to things like Bassnectar and electronic shows all the time but damn I am so glad my group brought me to see him. So good. 8. Jack Johnson - Hadn't listened to him since I was in like middle school and all the songs were coming back to me. I was honestly glad he replaced Mumford but I don't listen to them at all. 9. A$AP Rocky - Not a huge fan of live rap but A$AP was just too silly. Wu-Tang is tied with this show, but I would have enjoyed Wu-Tang more if I wasn't so tired and if we weren't packed in the crowd. Had to leave it early so we could breath. 10. Bjork - I really wanted to like this show and I know the only reason I couldn't get into it was because I was feelin real weird and exhausted during the show. Loved the dancers on stage that were just raging the Quack out though.

1. Macca- sooooo far away from the stage and couldn't even see. I think I had more fun as we were with a bunch of people using about 20 feet each to dance. Saw him in orlando so it wasn't life changing. All of that considered it was my favorite 2 hrs of this year. 2. Tame Impala- Had such great positioning. Elephant and half glass wine were highlights of the weekend. 3. Alt J- Was basically front row. Their lack of energy did not bother me at all. Sounded perfect. 4. Wu-Tang- First half of the show was all I could ask for. Would have been higher up if they spread the 36 chambers song around a lil bit. Crowd died down a bit after the last 36 song. Which was surprising because everyone cutting me was "such a huge wu fan". Come to find out im the only person rapping along to anything outside of the famous chants. 5. Local Natives- Singers were all great. Some of the best I heard all weekend. Was surprised to hear ceilings sound so crisp in the chorus. End of sun hands was a party... man that was fun. 6. Passion Pit- I'm have to be in the mood to enjoy them but this was the right setting obviously. Had a lot of fun. 7. Tom Petty- dancing in the light rain was a great way to end the weekend. So happy I chose to stay far from the stage for the headliners. Led to some very fun drunken dancing both times. 8. Hip Hop Superjam- Really slow beginning, didnt care for schoolboy q, but the jams and wu with redman in the second half were awesome 9. Trombone Shorty- Thought this was great. Cant remember when but I had chills at one point in the pit. 10. 21 Pilots- Just outside the other tent. This would have been higher if I had my tame impala/alt j spots. So much energy. Nice way to start the weekend.
