I somehow only managed to see 15 shows this year, and half of those were partial shows...... So I don't think I even have a top 10....
1. Sir Paul - Best show I have EVER seen at Roo in 8 years of going. 2. Portugal. The Man - hated that it was in the sun, because I wanted to be close but instead watched from the shade of a tree Love this band even more now and need to see a whole show. 3. Kyng - On the rail for this and LOVED this show (even though a mosh pit broke out behind me). Thank you Jay and others for shielding me from the craziness 4. Allen Stone - SO good, and so much fun. Ashley Capps was near me at this show and was totally enjoying it. 5. Jack Johnson - I was quite happy that he was the replacement for Mumford and he did a wonderful job at such short notice. I like his music and was quite happy for a mellow set.
In all my seven years, I have never had a better Bonnaroo. Plus it was my birthday Saturday, so it made it all the better.
1. Paul McCartney - ingested some nice things and was on cloud nine the entire show 2. Animal Collective - next to the John Paul Jones 2007 show, best late night show I've ever seen. 3. Swans - the most beautiful show I have ever been to. the abject terror on people's faces made it worth the price of admission. 4. Action Bronson - If you were not there, you will never know. By FAR the craziest and most fun I have EVER had at a show. 5. The National - They blew me away how well they held down the Which Stage in 2010, and they did it again this year on the What Stage. 6. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Even though I was absolutely exhausted, it was amazing to see Tom Petty live. 7. Mac Demarco - So, so, so much fun. Played every song I wanted to hear and was just a blast. 8. Bjork - Even though her light show suffered a little from being on so early, she put on a killer show. 9. Reptar - I cannot tell what we did at the show for fear of being banned here. But the hometown band, killed it. 10. Futurebirds - Same as above. Hometown band absolutely killed it at Roo. NEVER MISS AN ATHENS BAND AT ROO.

1. Paul McCartney - I saw him on the last stop of his last tour (Cincinnati), but Bonnaroo was so much more special, and that's saying something. Magical show.
2. Soul Superjam - I'm a huge MMJ/Jim James fan, I love Alabama Shakes, Zigaboo is a monster, and any show where R. Kelly and Billy Idol are almost just icing on the cake has to be special. Plus, as a bass player myself, seeing Larry Graham meant a lot to me. This kind of thing is why I come to Bonnaroo.
3. Bjork - I was a casual listener before this show. I had no idea what to expect from her live show. I was blown away. Plus, being a resident of the south, one doesn't get many opportunities to see her.
4. Father John Misty - I discovered Fear Fun just about a year ago and it reminds me of so many of my favorite artists from years before (John Lennon, Gram Parsons, etc). I had rail and it was fabulous.
5. Allen Stone - Great energy, great message, great crowd, great show.
6. Foals - I had listened to them a little bit, but didn't have huge expectations for their live show. In fact, I was mostly there to get a good spot for Jim James. It says a lot that they clearly beat Jim James for me.
7. Milo Greene - These guys played like they had something to prove. Wonderful album, wonderfully executed live.
8. Jim James - A truly amazing entertainer. The only thing that bothered me was the first sax solo, which was mimed.
9. Preservation Hall Jazz Band - God I love these guys. I have a blast every time I see them.
10. TIE - JEFF the Brotherhood/Swans/Petty - I love all three bands. I had seen JEFF before, but they really went hard at Bonnaroo. Swans was wonderful(/frightening), even though I left part-way through (worst decision of my Roo). Seeing Petty was very special for me.

1. Paul Friday night. I'm still letting it sink in a bit but that's probably the best show I've ever seen. 2. Portugal. The Man. This was the third time I've seen them over the last four years and by far the tightest they've sounded as a band. Someone earlier said their set was too short and I whole heartedly agree. 3. Tom Petty. All I can say is "It's Good To Be King". 4. Soul Superjam 5. David Byrne and St. Vincent. To the troll that spent his weekend sniffing glue instead of going to Bonnaroo, please drink it instead. 6. Bjork. This was much more impressive than I expected. This desperately needed to be a late night show. 7. Trombone Shorty. 8. Wilco. I'm a pretty big Wilco fan and like them more than a lot of the bands listed above but this show was a bit more relaxed than I care for. Via Chicago was great but a lot of the rest of the show missed some of that intensity. 9. The Revivalists (Cafe Where) - I saw these guys between Bjork and Jack Johnson at the stage at the back of What. This is one of those treasures you're glad you stumbled upon. 10. Local Natives. *I know I'm cheating. 11. Paul Thursday. I almost put this 5th, but it's hard to call a soundcheck a show. I sat on my van and watched all of it though and it was basically a 10 song or so set with video, lights and full testing of the production.
I could probably move a few of those around but I really enjoyed all of those shows.
Man, I'm apparently the only one reppin the hip hop Superjam. I thought it blew the soul jam out of the water. It was my favorite show of the weekend.
I was pretty close for this one and I thought it was damn awesome as well. The three Superjams were my favorite shows of the weekend. The Jim James one was the best one IMO but I thought the hip hop one was up there. They made me not feel bad about missing Wu Tang clan's earlier set and I was so pumped for Red and Meth. Got a video of one of the songs I'll post up at some point. Hoping to find the stream of it somewhere.
1. Paul 2. Glen Hansard 3. The National 4. Superjam (Jim jamming w/Billy Idol was surreal!) 5. Tom Petty 6. Bjork 7. Alt-J 8. Lord Huron 9. Calexico 10. FJM 11. Wilco
Still kicking myself for not catching the full Django Django set & only a bit of Jason Isbell. And I never thought Tom Petty would bump Wilco off any of my Top-10 lists but it was just that good. Dancing in the rain to his songs (and Friend of the Devil?!? nice surprise!) was more fun than I expected. And oh, the irony of hearing "Refugee" on the Farm...
1. Paul McCartney 2. The XX 3. Clockwork 4. Matt & Kim 5. Lord Huron 6. Allen Stone 7. Passion Pit 8. Four Tet 9. Porter Robinson 10. Animal Collective
I missed Sunday or I'm sure some if those would be there too. I saw a lot more shows on my own this year instead of staying with the group and it was great!
Such a hard thing to do but if I have I rank them based off of my own personnel taste and experience I would have to go with the following...
10 - The Vaccines 9 - Passion Pit 8 - Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers 7 - Walk The Moon 6 - Twenty One Pilots 5 - Paul McCartney 4 - Jack Johnson 3 - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros 2 - The XX 1 - Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls
10/19/14-Phantogram
11/29/14-New Politics, Bad Suns
4/17/15-Hippo Campus, Night Riots, The Mowglis
5/1/15-Penn State Movin' On Music Festival-New Politics, Passion Pit, Big Gigantic, Big Sean
6/11/15-6/14/15-Bonnaroo!
6/21/15 - Paul McCartney
6/27/15-Halsey, Imagine Dragons
I rolled into Roo late everyday to beat the heat, so I missed out on a bunch of great music but here it goes.....the infamous list:
1. Sir Paul McCartney and his Band -This was a once in a lifetime show. I've never in my life seen fireworks and pyrotechnics during a song. The music was perfect and the crowd seemed to know the lyrics to most of the songs. A Great concert.
2. Soul SuperJam -I did not make it to this but from what I've seen and read on the internet. It was about as special as number 1 on the list. I love Sly and the family stone. "Take Me Higher" is probably the best song ever written for a music festival. Check out the recording of Sly and the Family Stone at Woodstock.
3. Steve Stevens -The guitarist for Billy Idol. He is amazing on guitar. His execution is spot on and can play without looking at the fret board.
4. Wilco -They were different and that's what I like. Good Show, bravo.
5. The Lumineers -About as hot as Mumford and Sons....This group can chill you out and make you feel happy.
6. Japandroids -This is the last band on my list because they were the least favorite. I felt like I could put my own guitar in alternate tuning and play and scream for a little while. It's like they could not decide if they were punk or new wave......Oh well, at least I can dream. Get Jello Biafra for Bonnaroo 2014 and his Guantanamo Bay Band. Do this. We need a revival at Roo, not obscurity.
7. The Food Vendor selling the $9 cheese steak hoagie sandwiches. I could only afford one.
8. The Food vendor selling jambalaya for $10..............I was hungry and needed something quick. Great food.
9. ChirpVision............I hope Bonnaroo develops this and adds some screens to the tents to display other shows while people are waiting for artists to perform.
10. Paul McCartney commented on it. And so did Tom Petty. Whoever you are, you are doing a great job. Keep up the good work. Stay High my Friend.

that Chirp vision did have something to it. pretty slick. I can see the need for some MEGA wifi routers. but screens showing other tents while waiting on a show... genius.
my list is different
1. Sir Paul. great show and im rather bummed I missed the tail of it. 2. Maclemore. I was pretty close. learned alot about the guy from the two ladies i met. it was LOUD 3. BIlly Idol. I was close here. got great photos, and it too was super loud. 4. Dwight Yokum. Haved loved his music for a long time. 5. ZZtop. missed the tail of Paul for them. same as above. wish I was closer still. 6. Bean. Yea I like the intimacy of the Miller Lite Lounge. 6. Govt Mule. Yea, they rock.
Worst for me:
1. James Mccartney. he was barely audible at the ML lounge. I wont put him on my list ever again. 2. Sad that I missed Lumineers and Pretty lights. I was DOG tired Friday night. sad that I missed out on
1. Soul Superjam 2. Macca 3. Hip Hop Superjam 4. Wu-Tang Clan 5. Tame Impala 6. Four Tet 7. ALO 8. Father John Misty 9. David Byrne & St. Vincent 10. Alt-J
This was pretty hard to narrow down. I had an amazing Bonnaroo this year and enjoyed the heck out of every single set I went to.

Beach House - Their set was so cleaning, transformative, and transcendental. The symbiotic energy of the band and the crowd was so tangible. There was no better moment than having Victoria Legrand, the lead singer, personally giving me the set list. My plan was to leave This Tent, charge my phone, and get a spot for the soul superjam, but my life had been so touched, so forever changed, that all I could do was sit down. The events after that heavenly set were also great and pertinent. Hands down my favorite show I've ever seen. Bloom changed the way I not only listen to music, but the way I live my life. Tame Impala - Energy! Crowd surfing to the max, felt like I was the wave at one time. Back-to-back of "Elephant" and "It Feels like We Only Go Backwards" was another festie highlight. Those guys can put on a show. The xx - Chemistry. Ooh and the light show. I believe they are having or have had relations because they are like one entity. The feed off of each other so well and they care so much about each other. Haim - Surprise for me. While waiting 7 hours for FJM's set these girls easily took Thursday as best act. Gritty, grimy, unreserved, and just hungry. Will definitely be a stage act in the coming years. Grizzly Bear - Classy musicians that just know how to put on a show. So comfortable and familiar with themselves and what they do. Got a Shields vinyl as well! Dirty Projectors - Same as Grizzly Bear. Class acts who know how to rock a crowd with solid material to back them up. Django Django - Wasn't really feeling these guys but I can't deny the affect these guys had on the crowd. Milo Greene - Another Thursday fave. Local Natives - Ceilings. Action Bronson - Dude knows how to work a crowd and his deceiving mobility threw my for a loop. And I smoked one of his joints! Cocky, but with the skill to back it up. Wish his set was longer.
Ranking isn't going to work since they were all wonderful for different reasons but here are some highlights.....
CAPITAL CITIES - AM I THE ONLY ONE HERE WHO CAUGHT THAT CAPITAL CITIES SET!?....best set from an artist I didn't know or know to expect.....
FOALS - I was only there to get a good spot for Jim & as Stefon would say: this show had everything - crowd surfing; the lead dude crowd surfing & playing guitar, mosh pits galore, a girl riding an alligator across the audience, a butt sex sign & i'm sure there was a midget somewhere dressed as a baby.
BOMBINO - that creep can roll.
LORD HURON - both sets.
ALLANA ROYALE - that's how you start a Friday on the farm! One of the first I checked out when the Cafe acts were announced because her name starts with an 'A'....lucky me.
BJORK - a mix of absolute beauty & frenzy. I danced harder during parts of her set than at any time before in my life.
JIM JAMES - REGIONS OF LIGHT & SOUND OF GOD...totally blown away by this material & accompanying light show.
PAUL - admittedly my 3rd favorite Beatle but now I get to say that I sung Hey Jude with SirPaul on the farm.....wowzers.
BYRNE & ANNIE - as funky as I was hoping!
PETTY - Tweeter & the Monkey Man / a 10+ minute It's Good to be King / and the two topless girls that were dancing beside me.
PRES. HALL JAZZ BAND - at times I felt as if I were in a jazz club in the early 60's & as I had hoped, Jim doing St. James Infirmary. So glad this set was moved to this spot!
SOUL SUPERJAM - greatest set ever on the farm by anyone or anything human or non-human? that's a tall order but it could be mentioned.....Billy Idol doing Bang a Gong & R. Kelly doing A Change is Gonna Come....what the hell else could you possibly imagine or hope for in your wildest dreams people?
