Calling it now Kanye cancels or AC/Superfly pull the plug/troll KW. Then they get Mumford to make up for last year or Prince slides in last minute because he's Prince.

Bonnaroo at birth "Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world!" "If you get confused, just listen to the music play" Bonnaroo at 13
"All them other ni**as lame and you know it now, when a real ni**a hold you down, you supposed to drown" "(I got that hot b*tch in my home) You know how many hot b*tches I own?"
And instead of saying all of your goodbyes - let them know you realize that life goes fast - It's hard to make the good things last-you realize the sun doesn't go down - It's just an illusion caused by the world spinning round
My husband coined a new term for Kanye detractors:
Ye'-thiest (YAYth ee ist) One who does not believe in Kanye West (Yeezus) or the power and greatness that he represents. See also: Grudge-holder, Buzzkill.
I like the term. I am sure I will have plenty of opportunities to use it at Roo. My parents and sister and definitely Ye'thiests.
I have seen Kanye twice. Both times he was pretty amazing.
The Yeezus concert was amazing, far beyond what you expect from a concert. The performance was art unto itself. Combined with the music, it was fascinating to watch. The theatrics reminded me of when I saw Tool back in the day.

Emoney serves more of a purpose than any of you, especially Nate, whose incessant, garbled ramblings are so mindless and pointless that I get depressed just seeing them.

So I think I am going to bring some paint and just write Kanye quotes on the walls all over Bonnaroo.. Some of these are amazing:
“Yeezy season approaching/Fuck whatever y’all be hearing/Fuck what, fuck whatever y’all been wearing/A monster about to come alive again”
"I am so credible and so influential and so relevant that I will change things."
“If you’re a Kanye West fan, you’re not a fan of me, you’re a fan of yourself. You will believe in yourself. I’m just the espresso.”
“No flip flops for black dudes. I don’t care where you at. Wear some hot ass Jordans on the beach.”
“For me to say I wasn’t a genius, I would just be lying to you and to myself.”
“No one is looking at what [President] Obama is wearing. Michelle Obama cannot Instagram a [bikini] pic like what my girl Instagrammed the other day…”
“We're currently led by the least noble, least talented, least respected, least respectful people—politicians. Period. But the world could be saved through art and design. Art is something that in definition I think is a really close thing to love, and love is really close to God, and God is the master creator.”
"When someone comes up and says something like, ‘I am a god,’ everybody says ‘Who does he think he is?’ I just told you who I thought I was. A god. I just told you. That’s who I think I am,"
“So the next day I went to the studio with Daft Punk, and I wrote ‘I Am a God,’Cause it’s like, yo! Nobody can tell me where I can and can’t go. Man, I’m the No. 1 living and breathing rock star. I am Axl Rose; I am Jim Morrison; I am Jimi Hendrix.”
“Cause I still ain’t seen a video better than Beyoncé to this mothafuckin day!”
“Started from my mama, now I'm here.”
“I’m 10 years ahead of your mentality.”
"I think what Kanye West is going to mean is something similar to what Steve Jobs means. I honestly feel that because Steve has passed, you know, it’s like when Biggie passed and Jay Z was allowed to become Jay Z."
"Sometimes people write novels and they just be so wordy and so self-absorbed. I am not a fan of books. I would never want a book's autograph. I am a proud non-reader of books."
"I will go down as the voice of this generation, of this decade, I will be the loudest voice."
"I hate when I'm on a flight and I wake up with a water bottle next to me like oh great now I gotta be responsible for this water bottle."
"I don't even listen to rap. My apartment is too nice to listen to rap in."
"I feel like I’m too busy writing history to read it."
"Fur pillows are hard to actually sleep on."

I wanna get all of those quotes up somewhere around the farm.. I'll most likely make a post on here closer to the fest to try and get people to help with this project.

This guy REALLY hated me tweeting some positive stuff about Kanye on inforoo's twitter. It's so funny to me about how people are now upset that "corporate bonnaroo is all about the money". All because I posted a few positive tweets and told people not to organize a "group to moon Kanye West" lol. Bahahahahahah so ridiculous.

This is highly unlikely, but if AC/Superfly were actually interested in appeasing the people who aren't happy about Kanye West, the answer is simple: don't schedule his set completely unopposed. Just a few lower-tier bands playing tent shows would be enough to give all of detractors something to do (plus, help to avoid the kinds of actions mentioned in the exchange above) and I think the gesture alone would appease some people.

People are just hypocritical about the whole thing.
My take: Kanye can be a big asshole. He's egotistical (but then again so are many of the best artists) and rubs people the wrong way with his comments. He's also amazingly talented and the most respected music critics will back that up. He and Bonnaroo failed at delivering a great show in 2008 but they are both working together now to put on a headliner set that will wow everyone.
Acting like this is a sign that "Bonnaroo corporate is out of touch" or that it's "all about the money now" is just being ignorant and dismissive. Bonnaroo is a corporation and they've always been about making money AND putting on an awesome festival. It's not one or the other.
I really hope people don't purposefully go to his set just to boo him or anything, like what a waste of the time you have there haha
I don't doubt for a second that at least a handful of people will try to ruin Kanye for everyone else. And then someone will get punched in the face, and after Bonnaroo we'll be dealing with "Kanye's THUG fans beat me up for expressing my opinion."

I didn't even think of that but i'm terrified that this will happen now. But in all honesty someone going to a show and even attempting to ruin the show deserves to get punched in the face. I despise mumford and sons, i was furious they were gonna be a headliner last year. Was i gonna go to the show with a banjo and just strum as loud and as fast i can? No i was gonna go back to my camp and rest up for late night why is this so freaking hard for people to understand?

That's the thing. Most of the complaints (and almost all of the Facebook/twitter complaints) don't make sense. On twitter I stated multiple times that "2008 was a bust" or "2008 failed" or other versions of that. But you still get people thinking that we are ignoring/forgetting the last show. Nah....the last show is what makes me want this show even more.

It fascinates to even psychological levels the amount of victimization people have from this show. It completely changed some people to the point they feel genuinely persecuted. How little perspective must you have to really feel that way about a botched festival show? To have the means to attend an event as special as bonnaroo every year, but to be so obsessed with your problems in a world where there are children who don't pity themselves for starving?

The funny thing is that I assume a majority of the people complaining weren't even at the 2008 set. They are just using that as a reason to hate him more.
I said this yesterday, but if your own self-worth is that tied up in a three-day music festival where one bad set from one act which maybe, at worst, impacted a couple hours of your life six years ago still causes you to seethe with anger to this day, you really need to sort your life out.
If you weren't there or just missed like 20 minutes of Phil Lesh or something, you're even worse. Pull up your pants and move on lads.

I had my time wasted and missed other sets I wanted to see at Newport Folk Fest this year by Jim James and a staring contest. I wouldn't do it again but I do not hold a grudge.
